I don't recommend it.
The rooms are too small, they are not as they look as in the photos, the beds are not comfortable and what I disliked the most is that there is no hot water to bathe in. As much as we asked the front desk, they didn't fix it.

My husband and I are fans of chili peppers in nogada here. Every year we go for them, but this year they blew the barda! we loved the nogada! the taste of soft meat, chili cooking and nogada was wonderful! I had to speak to ask and congratulate the person who made them, I did not find her but her name is Mrs. Elsa! really delicious!
The team that has this place brings one back year by year… Excellent attention always of Miss. Adriana, Gabriel… congratulations to all!

It is a beautiful hotel, romantic, no noise, clean, with excellent attention, I have twice stayed there and I will do it again.

The attention is frightening. I sent an email and never responded. If you bring a car, be prepared for a poor service. In sum, I would not recommend it.

The hotel is integrated into the center of a convent and that brings 2 factors, the rooms are small and uncomfortable. The Hotel does not have its own parking and gym, even if noted, parking schedules are in the morning after 730AM and no after 11PM. The restaurant has a very simple food menu, not all good ones. The staff has bipolar behaviors, some very well and others very bad. Anyway, nothing to recommend, it becomes just one more option. Unfortunately.

Ideal for going as a couple or as a family. It's a colonial house, air conditioned for hotel. It's downtown. The rooms are comfortable.

A nice place with hacienda-like architecture, with a nice and warm pool although small but enough for the little ones, the air-conditioned rooms, cable for my taste small, has an excellent location all the center within reach of a few blocks.

Gorgeous hotel, perfect location, with incredibly friendly management. We were cared for like family and our almost 2 year old son was treated like a little prince. Yolanda and her staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed (crib, high chair, taxis that accommodate car seats) during our month in Oaxaca. The rooms are very clean, well-appointed, and quiet (and we were there during the elections and World Cup). The pool is pristine and having a restaurant onsite was fantastic (though do get out an explore-Oaxaca is a foodie paradise). We will most certainly return to Casantica soon! Thank you!

The rooms are very good size, the attention of the staff is excellent and they are very careful with the way to drive to one. The restaurant very good although a bit slow. Highly recommended.

I recommend this hotel. It has shortcomings but all in all the positive traits make up for the negatives. The location is terrific for a visit to Oaxaca. We had a "suite" which is really a medium size room with a bathroom. But — comfortable enough. The arrival by car was fine — the attendant will assist you parking on the street and from there it is a valet parking service. The hotel needs a better mindset of service. Some odd things — there is a significant deposit for something as simple as a towel for the pool. Also — there is practically too much cleaning. They seem to be constantly cleaning the common areas. Also — the soap used to clean the floor has a very intense odor. I forgot my bag — a purse really — in the room when we were leaving. I should have been more careful. The bellman was focussed on retrieving the TV remote control and the AC remote — he and I should have done the "last look" before departing. The hotel was VERY helpful in returning my bag — they quickly sent it via courier to Canada. I cannot thank them enough for this service. If you are looking for a place to stay in Oaxaca — Hotel Casantica is excellent. We would definitely return.

Very Good Hotel! AND Super well located near the points of interest…

It has a small pool, where those who know or do not know how to swim can have a great fun. My brother who is staying there tells me that the rooms are comfortable, have weather and are quite spacious.

Have been hotel cas antica for a couple of days, starting with the 2 female staff not very friendly, we asked for a quite room and paid for a room early to rest after a long flight so they put us under the wash room, you could only hear the washer. Update to come.

Lacks TLC and love it should have. Needs help. I was disappointed. Could be great with better care.

Friendly staff, great service, nice food, fantastic architecture! There's even A/C in the rooms. Beds and pillows are a bit hard though.

I can't understand why this lil charming place is getting negative reviews? I am staying in the Master Suite and loving the old world charm. The huge thick wooden arced doors are fantastic! Exposed brick, tile floors and lots of closet space. Nice firm beds, very quiet and free breakfast. The general store (Oxxo) is very close and they have a wide selection. Stock up your room! :) There is a small court yard and a nice little pool area as well in the center. And free Wi-Fi! If you want an historical place to stay then this is your destination!

The hotel is very clean and perhaps its best feature is that it is in the center of Oaxaca, which is the most recommended to visit. The rooms are old fashioned and small. They accept you with pets, they make a charge of 500 pesos per day of the mascot. The pool is small. The staff mostly are very friendly. It does not have own parking and where the cars are in the open, so if it rains you will return completely dirty. If you go with pets be careful when you walk when it rains, because in some areas of the street short circuits are present. It happened to me in front of the bakery passing the Oxxo. Even though they give good service, I consider that the prices are a little high with respect to what is received. When you arrive you can park in the sidewalk area in front of the hotel, while the valet goes by the car.

Very nice, quiet and safe hotel in a central location.
The rooms are divided into two courtyards and a small sunrise. In the courtyard there is breakfast and in the second is the nice (heated) pool.
We noticed that some rooms do not have a window.
We had room 301 with several windows, air conditioning, nice bathroom with shower and two double beds. Everything very spacious and cozy.
At breakfast you can choose between several dishes. Very tasty and fresh. Also the coffee was good.
The staff was always very helpful. Cleanliness and order were perfect.

This hotel is beautiful! The rooms are clean and comfortable. A bit small bit no bother to us. People are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. I have had a great experience in Oaxaca and casantica has been a great spot to base out of.

The friendliness of all the staff is excellent with a great disposition to make you stay the best.
The Wi-Fi signal is excellent throughout the hotel.
The pool has solar heating, which makes it at a very pleasant temperature at all times, plus it is very clean. It has a wave and low area for children.
The place is very clean.
The only detail that I did not like at all, is the car park, there is a space in front of the hotel to park and there are times that the hotel staff is not on the slope to remove the parking signs and it is hard to maneuver. It has a ballet parking, which if you do booking is not included. So the payment is separate.
They allow you to enter with pets, with an extra cost for the service.
The room is somewhat small, not so the bathrooms.
They have a computer available at the front desk to check your e-mail, plane tickets, etc.
They also offer Tour packages for the emblematic places. Its cost is affordable compared to other states.

Excellent location, within 5 minutes to zocalo and the market that provides street food and live music in the evening. The room is good, just enough. The bathroom is clean, the shower is very spacious. I recommend this hotel.

Great location. Easily walkable for most of the things I like to do in Oaxaca. The rooms and common areas are beautiful for what you pay.

They were under selling the space on their website. Courteous staff and their English might not be perfect but they try which is all I can ask for.

We were travelling with a baby, so it was a priority for us to get a suite that had a separate living room and bedroom, so the baby could sleep in the bedroom, while we were in the livingroom. There aren't many hotels that offer this in Oaxaca, so we waited with booking the flights to Oaxaca, until we had found this place. So we book the master suite, and book our flight tickets, and 2 days before arrival they send us an email saying "Sorry, that room isn't available anyway". … We contacted them saying that that was unacceptable, but they just told us they "hadn't confirmed", which just isnt true since the room said "available" when we booked it, and we got a confirmation email receipt and all. So now we have flights to Oaxaca, and no place to stay. A very bad experience! Watch out.

Quit place with a nice indoor pool. The hotel is in the heart of the historic district. There is a small convenient store next door next door so you can get snacks. Small rooms. Overall excellent.

Made a reservation online for the Presidential Suite. They did not honor my reservation, instead offered me a downgrade for more money. To make matters worse, they would not accept responsibility, but blamed me, despite having a confirmation number. Awful customer service!

Very father the place, this very well maintained and the facilities are comfortable and clean. Staff are super friendly. And the food is fabulous. It is very close to the socket of this hotel and worth to stay in it. Do not miss this it is a good option.

Casantica is a terrific hotel ideally located just north of the Zocalo. The staff was terrific; they're helpful and friendly, but not all speak English so knowing some Spanish is helpful. We stayed in two different rooms at Casantica, and both were clean, comfortable and classy. Relative to other places in Oaxaca Casantica is little pricey, but I thought it was a good value for the price. Also, the (included) brakfats are excellent. My only criticisms are that since the rooms face an inner court yard they don't get much light, but they do get a fair amount of noise when kids play in the pool. However, since the rooms do face a courtyard, that means you don't get much noise from the street.

The menu of the day at the restaurant the pombo is very rich.
