We had a lovely meal here although the prices are a bit higher. Unfortunately the menu shown at the entrance to the restaurant at the bottom of the stairs didn't match the menu presented once you climbed them. The atmosphere could be improved as with only a couple of tables busy and overwhelming silence, it felt a bit awkward, maybe some music would do the charm and encourage guests to stay longer?
The meal however was lovely.

We just came for dinner and it was DELICIOUS. Had the mountain-ocean risotto and the lamb and the lemon pie and each dish was fantastic. Definitely will be back!

By far the best food we had in Mazunte and worth every walking meter from the center! The ingredients are crazy fresh and highest quality and the chef really knows his craft. Also the service was incredible accommodating. Unfortunately we discovered this place on our last day. Go there!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we had an amazing experience at the restaurant. Chef Jans and Jasmin were phenomenal. The food was the best meal we had in Mazunte with a stellar view and incredibly reasonable. Red snapper, shrimp salad, and ceviche along with a great white wine. Also as someone with celiac, they communicated thoughtfully about all the ingredients. Highly recommend for meals and wish we could go back for breakfast! Gracias!

We went to OceanoMar only for restaurant cause we stayed somewhere else on Playa Mermejita. What a beautiful and peaceful place to eat and chill. The food is simple and really tasty. All the restaurant team is amazing, kind, smiley and sweet. We went there 5 times cause the place is so quiet and the view heartbreathing. We've seen whales while we were there and had really good chat with all the the team. Thanks for offering us to enjoying the p. M at the swimming pool. We are so grateful to met you. Next time we book a caban to your place.

I wish I could write 2 reviews: One for the physical place, and one for the staff. The place was really lovely. We stayed there for 5 days. You should know though that it is on a hill, which is great for catching ocean breezes, but hard to climb in the heat. There is no air conditioning, and it does get very hot. The rooms were very clean, the breakfasts good, and the pool inviting. Anyway, we throughly enjoyed the physical place, but our experience with the staff was odd. Maybe they were burnt out on visitors at the end of the season. Maybe they were overworked and underpaid. Except for the maid, and a lady — I think her name was Rebecca? — no one else would make eye contact or return our greetings. I've honestly never felt more unwelcome any place I've ever stayed. I think the answer may be for the owner to make sure the staff is paid enough so they're happy to work there — even if it is the end of the tourist season. This is the first negative review I've written.

Quiet hotel that was very clean. It had a great pool and deck with a wonderful view of Mermejita beach. Staff were very helpful. There is an associated restaurant that served food and alcohol until four but let one get bottled/canned drinks from the fridge on the honor system later. It had an espresso maker. There is a horrible nearby (across a valley) restaurant that blared dance music on the two weekend nights I was there, but that plagues everyone who is facing in the little valley of Mermejita.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The place is so beautiful and well taken care of. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, relaxed. The people are very friendly and easy going. Good vibes! And the views on the sea and the stars at night and the birds and butterflies in the garden are magnificent. Paradise must be here!
