LUIS, jose, avril, alejandro diana y todos eran lo mas simpaticas que podian hacer. This is a perfect place. It has preserved the feel of old colonial architecture and yet it is modern enough to be near the action of the downtown. The shady courtyard where you can eat breakfast, lunch all day is a great haven to relax or if you want the upstairs courtyard, you get a view of the city at night! The rooms are cleaned daily with clean linen and towels. You can get bottled water every day for about a dollar and a half and lots of help from everyone to go anywhere you want in the city… I had so much fun here that I broke my forearm dancing one night. The hotel quickly got me a taxi and told me where 24-hour care was and even called the place to find out if they provided me with x-ray machines. I speak Spanish but the point is I did not have to that night because they handled the details. This is a magical place. Gorgeous plants, gorgeous architecture and kind people. Go go go go go!

There is no better hotel in Oaxaca. They do everything you need and perfectly so. One year ago, we booked on Booking. Com and stayed here in February on a last minute whim and fell in love with the place. We stayed a second time after reserving with a bank transfer for guarantee during the busy season. The staff of young people (no matter what shift;24 hours per day) are the kindest and most patient group. My partner and I are fairly proficient in Spanish and we brought 3 friends who knew very little. Even if a staff member wasn’t very knowledgeable if English (although the young man on day shift was good and could communicate with our friends), all requests were understood with patience and smiles. We were always greeted every morning and night. Our rooms were so clean and the housekeeper was fast and super friendly too. The upstairs patio and roof area are filled with gorgeous plants and you get the best views of the mountains and city lights at night from the rooftop. You can feel the charm and kindness here. It is cash only or may be done by International Bank transfer to guarantee a reservation during busy times. However, that is also what allows them to have a great value by comparison to hotels of similar accommodations. If you want to pay $300+ US Dollars for a spa/resort experience, it isn’t that kind of place because it is a boutique hotel.

This hotel is in an amazing location right near the Zocalo and many markets! The staff were super kind and accommodating and made sure we were comfortable. The rooms were comfortable and clean with great AC and water pressure. The breakfasts were also excellent! Highly recommend.
