Review of Occidental Nuevo Vallarta 4*

I'm a member now since 2006. This is our first time here and it will not be our last. I consider this from location, view, day travel, golf, mountains sunsets, fishing, food the best yet. I have not been to any Barcelo's so keep this in mind. We our Royal members and at this royal club is actually very nice on the top floor but the first club down by the beach you spend more time there. Great evening sunset from the Royal Bar and restaurant. Love Los Olives Italian restaurant and they have other nice selection of wines for extra. Buffet good, Pool bar bar etc. All good. They are remodeling a lot especially the adult pool area while we were there so should even be better. You can walk for miles in the direction of La Cruz wide beach. Water clean but not clear because of the dark sand etc. Good clean beach Good but not Great. Rudy (Rudolpho) in the royal club helped us very well with our fishing trip. And other needs. Great guy. Rokera Sport Fishing are 4 brothers and a dad they are fantastic. Bay for 4 hours or further out they can help. Great staff. Keep in mind this is a small venue but drive to North or south for an hour and see different parts around the area. Sayulita is a nice surfing town, getting commercial quick so go now, south is a nice drive but go after morning traffic or schedule around Cruz ships. You will drive exactly along the beach front mountains. Hertz just down the street, grocery store, Starbucks, marina etc. You can take a water taxi to downtown and all the way to the Malecon shopping bar area which is really commercial and everyone wants to sell you something Thee but worth seeing. Buy things in Peso. Cheaper generally since the exchange rate is 21 now. Use your debit card. Best rate generally. We ate dinner at La Papala it was fabulous fish restaurant on the beach in South Puerto Vallarta, not a menu for kids but they have chicken fingers. Great place. Can't wait to come back.
