Everything excellent from the service in the rooms the cleanliness, the pools, great detail that surprised me was one of its meseros, mr. Jorge of the Mexican restaurant, uff that professional and friendly that gentleman, people like him give good image to the place.

The attention is magnificent and beautiful facilities.

The rooms are beautiful, but the water of both wash hands as the water can be salt water, literally! Never had access to the a la carte restaurant not to be the occupation, supposedly to the 100%, very little variety of food in addition to cold, without waiters enough in common areas to give attention to the guests. To go to the sea transport takes only every hour, and the transport does not have air conditioning, you do not have a kids club as advertised. Does not come with a directory of extensions in the room. The attention of the staff is good, they are kind, but not overwhelmed.

Excellent, only I miss the spa because it was under renovation. But otherwise excellent.

It is the most peaceful place I have ever been. It’s beautiful and quiet. The staff can’t do enough for you and they are the reason we keep coming back!

The place needs more restaurants. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the location is perfect. You can relax in a pool alone, or meet new friends in a different pool, because there are six to choose from.

Be aware! Management staff has changed within the past year or the past few months. We went in 2016 and it was great! The quality of the services and the state of the resort must have been deteriorating since. Our stay in August 2018 was nothing like July 2016. We had too many issues in regard with the quality of services and responsiveness of the staff. Some of the employees were awesome (animation team, shuttle drivers and very few others), but the basic maintenance and expected standards of the resort have been neglected to an unacceptable level. This Resort doesn't deserve to be labeled as a 5 star luxury hotel! Do yourself a favor: Avoid while you can.

Such horrendous food poisoning from the buffet, no matter how good the deal do not visit this place. Management could not care less about the issue — no reply to several emails after a month. Aweful holiday, terrible service. So upset.

Why did I give this resort three stars? Number one, the food isn’t that great. It is very hit and miss on flavoring and selection. Number two, it has to be the worst room service I have ever encountered and at a resort. If you plan on eating in two hours you better call in advance and let them know what you want before you’re starving. Number three, It’s not a bad thing but never less you need to know there is no alcohol served in the drinks during the daytime. The only plac…e that you can get a decent drink is at the sky bar at night. Number four, The mosquitoes oh my gosh they are everywhere no matter what you use your gonna get a bite or 10, 000. Number five, they will not leave you alone about timeshare. If I had a peso for every time that I was approached about doing the timeshare I would seriously be at millionaire. I am not exaggerating, it was a big pain. You seriously got sob stories about how they needed you to go to that presentation to help give them their money for the week. I felt really bad for not doing any of those timeshare presentations but frankly I wasn’t planning on buying into this resort and I didn’t want to waste their time nor mine. So what does I love about this resort was THE VIEW! The adults only pool was so beautiful to look out from while swimming. I am glad that I went, I was needing a nice relaxing week. The rooms were big and great. They were needing to clean a little better. Our toilet had a few issues. But honestly it was okay.

This is a beautiful resort situation on a hill with lots of nature views. The pools are amazing with plenty to choose from. The service is excellent especially by the pool bar. The attendants are always there to get you a drink or food. Pool bar food includes wings, fries and more pub like food. My favourite a la carte was the Italian restaurant. The entertainment here is more low key making this resort more ideal for couples. If you do want more action then check out their sky zone bar where you can chat, drink and listen to music. This resort is not situated at the beach and you need to take a shuttle to the beach. Also it is far away from town and requires a taxi in. Overall I highly recommend this place for a nice quiet getaway.

Great hillside resort to relax in, by the pool with drinks and in the spa. The main downside is the onsite food options. There are 4 proper restaurants onsite (Brazilian, Japanese, Italian and steak house), but they only open one at a time if they feel like it (we had days of none of them open). The rest of the time it's the not so great buffet.

A heavenly place with a friendly and warm service. The food is not the best, but you have different options, without a doubt return!

Impeccable and quality service.

Nice resort, clean and well looked after. Food was ok-good, but not great. Although I'm easily pleased so will never go hungry… I did however think that a lack of ice-cream and fruit at the pool bars was a let down! Very friendly and helpful staff, although the service could be improved for the buffet. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

A beautiful place, very good attention, only when you go and when you stay in all inclusive ask the availability of your restaurants as they are full on your agenda and it is very difficult to add!

It was definitly not a good hotel for us, too expensive for what you get. The worst part and most important, in the pool there was a DRUNK STAFF guy, yelling, dancing and throwing glass plates, everybody is bare foot! No one cleaning, glasses stayed there until next day. We asked for cancellation and they didn’t help and denied. Horrible food, cold buffalo wings, no blue cheese, even if the menu said you would have one. Beach is 15 min plus two buses away. Staff nice but not a good service. The distances between room and amenities are very very long, we have a three year old and this was terrible.

The hotel is nice. But avoid the penalty of booking here. As many reviews say. Bad food. Bad service. Do not solve the problems of anything.

Excellent resort in the middle of nature. A lovely staff. A beautiful country. Good food. In short I loved.

We had a wonderful week at the Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills Resort and Spa. The food was good, varied and healthy, the service was excellent, the room was comfortable and clean with a beautiful view of the Bay of Banderas in the distance and of the hills nearby. It is a smaller resort and even though they said they were full and very busy, it didn't seem at all crowded, and we continued to see many of the same people over and over. That made it easy to make new friends and socialize. The Pool Bar offered a wide variety of drinks all day long and Manuel always served them with a smile. The chips and guacamole were a delicious mid-afternoon snack! Breakfasts were amazing; the omelette lady in the lower dining room (not sure what to call this dining room) made it look so easy, and always knew which omelette went to which person. (Not an easy feat when you have four personalized omelettes on the grill all the time. ) Suppers in the main buffet offered a salad bar, often a pasta bar or a taco bar and a wide variety of dishes to appeal to a wide variety of people. Many nights were themed, such as Italian or Mexican. We also enjoyed the Brazilian restaurant and the Steak House. We were always able to find delicious new items. Omar, the food and beverage manager, very quickly made us feel like old friends. The beach is beautiful.

Fantastic spot very quiet here in march, Weather was amazing. Staff extremely helpful food great variety and good standards. Only let down was having to ask for coffee for the room everyday they do bring it when asked though. Relaxing holiday Would definitely go here again to recharge batteries only proper gripe is the price of the exit tax at the airport. Felt it was high and Only informed in small print.

We were there Feb 10-17 2018. It was an easy check in. Loved our little hut we stayed in. The shuttle service was fabulous, very prompt on picking us up. The rooms were sooo relaxing and I ABSOLUTELY loved the tub. And the balcony I enjoyed my coffee every morning out there. The staff was great and very accommodating. Super Mario was wonderful and seemed to be everywhere. When we were at the beach club Elizabeth was great as well. We loved her. (alot of vendors all day long) I had cut my foot on coral while we were there and the driver got me back to the resort (i cant remember his name) then Super Mario and a great guy at the front desk looked after me. Getting me to my room and checking in to make sure I was ok. Thank you also to the lady (she had a timeshare there room 1109) for giving me bandaids and polysporin to care for my cut. That was the one negative about this resort. No medics on the resorts or first aid kits.
Another negative was trying to get restaurant reservations. We werent able to get a reservation until monday night at the Italian restaurant which was so good… Then not again till Thursday at the Brazilian. My husband loved it. But me not so much. But the staff at both where phenomenal. The buffets werent the best. But the pool snack bars where great. And the drinks where plentiful.
We for sure will go back. Thank you for a great 8 relaxing days. We loved it.

Amazing experience! The hospitality is second to none! Absolutely beautiful resort! While it is set in basically the jungle the beach is not far! Norma in reception is so accommodating and an incredible host! Room is phenomenal! Great place to relax and unwind! Highly reccomend!

We are very happy with our choice.
Excellent food at the buffet and at the beach.
On the other hand to have an early reservation for dinner à la carte, it's more complicated. Guests with concierge service have the first choice. (It's normal) on the other hand the restaurants are always half full at the time you want. So he often stays for dinner at 8-21 o'clock. Too late for us. We had dinner twice in 7 days at 7 pm. The food at the à la carte restaurant is sublime! 5
Excellent courteous and helpful staff all over the site.
The beach is a 10-hour bus ride from the hotel. (Every 30 minutes the bus runs from 10am to 5:45pm. ) This is not the most beautiful beach I have seen. Full of pebbles and the water is scrambled. On the other hand you can walk easily with sandals.
If you want to rest… It's the perfect place!
It is also a tropical mountain flan place that requires good cardio if you walk… if not they have shuttle for your trip everywhere! So don't worry!
I'll come back and recommend it!

This place is amazing. It is beyond beautiful and the weather for the week we were there was exactly what I was expecting. Yes there is hills so there is walking but they had golf carts/vans driving around offering rides ALL the time! All the staff was amazing, very happy and very helpful. The animation staff was fun and they definitely need some credit for getting people involved and making a day by the pool more fun than it already is! I will for sure be going back as much as possible! :)

First time at this hotel. It is beautiful and very relaxing. The service is great. The Chef at the Japanese restaurant is a wonderful chef, he puts on a great show for the guests. Book early to get in. Only thing I was not crazy about was the fact that each time you have to make a reservation for a specific restaurant, you need to go to the concierge's office and you can ONLY reserve for two nights — no matter how many nights you are staying. Then come back the next day and book for another one or two nights. You cannot do it by phone in the comfort of your room, must only do it directly in person at the concierge's desk. Go figure why! We took a hike with Abraham in the woods and it was real fun — saw lots of nature — forest, huge Cactus grove, lots of different trees, butterflies and great views. I highly recommend the hike which is twice a week — check the schedule. Abraham is great, speaks english and he tried to explain as much as possible about the forest and the nature around us. We spent a week at the resort in January 2018. I had zero expectations going into the resort. The resort is set in a hilly jungle. This was a bonus for us as we really enjoyed walking around the resort and loved that the sleeping villa were set apart from the other areas. Please note if you are not into walking a lot or up hills this may not be the best resort for you. But the hills allowed for privacy. The resort pools were set in amazing locations and really made this resort for us. So why the three star? Two major issues arose for us. The first issue was the food. I am not one to complain but the food at this resort was nearly not edible. Our party was shocked by how bad the food was, even when you booked their "restaurant" experience. What was shocking was most of the food issues could be changed VERY easily. Things like under cooked pizza's or cold chicken wings, or everything being greasy. It was really a huge let down for my party. None of the food ever resembled anything that was cooked with pride or with knowledge of how to cook it. We were also surprised that they did nothing Mexican at all. A taco bar would have gone a long way… The second issue was the service. We never felt that any of the staff were happy to deal with you. They never tried to go out of the way to help no matter how much you tipped. When we requested water for the water that had already run out it would take on average 2-3 hours to arrive.

The Grand Sirenis Matlali hills is a story of missed potential. Despite an interesting location up in the hills, the property itself is difficult and time consuming to navigate due to its layout, and isolated from the true attractions of the Riviera Nayarit — the beaches or interesting towns and diversions. It feels off from the moment you arrive — the spread out nature leads to a soulless feeling, and the resort has no real personality to define it that is so typical of this region. There is no convenience store or product sales area for even basics such as sunscreen, and the nearest stores are several miles away. The resort photographs well, but the reality is quite different — the pool surroundings are drab, the loungers uncomfortable. The beach club is several miles away by shuttle, and in disrepair with flooded showers/bathrooms. The food quality across the various restaurants and snack bars is particularly abysmal and below standards seen elsewhere in Mexico or at all-inclusive resorts; likewise the drinks are of reasonably poor quality. It is very hard to get a reservation at their “theme restaurants”. Service is highly erratic and spotty — even basics, such as maid service, are inexplicably skipped and requests for basic items or maintenance go unanswered. The friendlier staff are newer; those there 6m or more appear unhappy, and many of them shared that they were unhappy with the constant understaffing.

I am an avid traveler and I’ve been around the world and stayed in many hotels, good and bad. From the Park Hyatt in Paris to a Best Western in rural Kentucky. This is by far, the worst service I’ve encountered EVER. This place is severely understaffed which means the people who do work there, despite their hard work (and they really do work hard, this review is for the owners, not the people putting in the effort to do what they can with what they’re given), are in a bad mood and constant stress. You can feel this vibe at Grand Sirenis. It’s a shame, since the installations are actually very beautiful. Terrible food, terrible service, terrible everything at a very high price. This place is essentially a scam. This feels like someone trying to take your money and give you the bare minimum to make you feel you’re at an “all inclusive”. Please, for your own sake, spend that money somewhere else, don’t give your money to owners who are cutting back on everything possible to make the most profit. You can get way better for that price. To Grand Sirenis: I hope you’re aware of what’s happening at your resort in Punta Mita and do something about it ASAP, because as of today I would NEVER consider visiting any other Grand Sirenis. I feel ripped off and I want my money back.

Really enjoyed our time here! Very friendly & Helpful Service and attention to detail was very good. Water in the suite wasn’t potable (Dec ‘17) — but apparently will be remedied shortly. The grounds were simply immaculate, natural/peaceful. Food was good. Definitely worth (& contemplating) another visit.

The Hotel is beautiful for its views, the facilities and the pools of the adult area very parents, it is a place of relaxation, the only thing is that in the delivery of the rooms take a lot and the attention a little rude.

This resort was amazing! The rooms were beautiful with wood finishes. The staff at this resort worked very hard to make sure that we had the best experience possible! The resort offers a lot of privacy and the pools and restaurants are a close walk away. We made dinner reservations for every night that we were there, and loved every meal! I would recommend building a relationship with the concierge he can help you book your dinner reservations and explain the hours of the food services so you can plan your meals accordingly. You can only book dinners 3 days in advance, so every morning as we left our room we would stop by our concierge Jorge and he would book our dinners for us. By making reservations provided a romantic atmosphere with only about 10 couples at a time in the restaurant. We made a reservation at the spa when we arrived at the resort and it was a amazing. The privacy and seclusion of the spa made it a wonderful half day experience. The prices were affordable, and the amenities within the spa were beautiful, this included a steam room, outdoor showers and a small romantic outdoor pool. The beach is about a 5-10 minute shuttle from the resort, and the staff there continue the amazing service on the beach. There were a couple of vendors that came on the beach selling trinkets while we were there but they were polite and never pushy. I would recommend this resort to everyone!

We stayed at Matlali Hills April 1-8, 2017. We loved the resort, the friendly staff and the beautiful views. We even loved that we had to shuttle to the Beach Club, because it gave us the opportunity to explore the town of La Cruz. The staff at both the resort and the beach club were top notch and helpful and friendly. The resort is very laid back and quiet for the most part. At the pool bar the bartenders and entertainment staff were great. Special thanks to Karla and Heidy (entertainment staff) who made our evenings and afternoons at the pool bar more fun! Also specially fond of Jorge and (I think) Christian, at the Beach Club. Sure, not everything was perfect, but the flaws were minor things. Not the staff's fault!

Not good! States it's a 4+ star and it's maybe a 2+ star. Not a beach front resort as advertised (they will shuttle you to a rocky beach). The cleaning staff need a lot of training (dirty sheets, lack of face clothes, etc). Construction going on at or near the pools. Lost water pressure one evening and then electricity and water for a little while the next day. The only saving grace are the waiters and the guys bringing drinks at the poolside! Maybe try this resort in two or three years when everything is sorted out! I'm at the resort as I write this and just want a partial refund! Not worth what they want you to pay!

This resort has great potential, it recently changed hands so there is growing pains. I stayed in one of the new towers, the beds are terrible and most I spoke with agreed. (I asked to upgrade but was denied even though the rooms sat empty) But a soak in the hot tub every morning cured the aches and pains. The buffets are smaller but the food was very good and flavourful and again the staff was great. There really is no nightly entertainment to speak of, if there was a mariachi band we didn't know about it. Lack of communication is the greatest down fall, as a little advice put benches so you can sit waiting for beach shuttle and establish a schedule for it, usually it's all a best guess. That are very nice and helpful. Stay away from the time share closer he's dreadful but Orlando was great if we could of only dealt with him we would of bought. Take your to-go cup for the bar the dishwashing of glasses is scary.

Very bad service. It of no use to be partner. It is a fraud for partners xq one purchase memberships to purchase better service, and in this hotel do not t respect nothing. It took 3 hours in bringing my luggage. 2 hours to bring ice. The employees of the bar of the swimming pool terrible. Same q the biggest dome Adan. In the quality of the food bad. And that q bring bracelet platinum. It will not recommend it to the contrary I will go to legal instances.

I tell them my experience, just today, to return this very nice hotel by the way, only that there was a problem, at check-out, we called reception to that passed by us, a few minutes after he reaches the bellboy, but they came in a golf cart, until there was not a problem, but to walk on the steep slopes felt very unsafe down, almost at the end of the tour, we arrived at reception with a flight to be considerable (given the last descent), and to cause us to hand right comes a passenger van H100, so that the golf cart fails to curb, and the driver of the pickup truck neither account is, fortunately, the driver of the golf cart managed to get the hit but in the end yes we hit the part where I came with the door of the truck, maybe here doesn't sound a big deal, but at the time it was the scare of our lives. When this happen the driver of the golf cart asked us if we are well, and we said yes that nothing more was the blow, the shock and the fright. The same we question the driver of the pickup truck, saying also that we saw.

Excellent place to escape the noise of the city and have peace and rest.

Just came home from a lovely Thanksgiving stay at the Matlali and had the time of my life there! The staff was very accommodating and doted on my travel partner and I during meals and transports. Our driver even walked us to the beach from the van! The facility was absolutely beautiful and very clean with a wonderful turn down service crew making sure we had everything we needed nightly and a housekeeping staff that did an excellent job tidying up our suite each day. The spa is truly a special place and we had excellent service before, during, and after our treatment there! Thanks to Nora for arranging our totally relaxing day! We'll be back! Meals were fantastic, especially our Thanksgiving dinner and Gabriel, Silvero, Johnnie, and all of our other friends took great care to make sure we had excellent service during every meal. The grounds were beautiful and the pools well maintained! Thanks Matlali for the vacation of a lifetime!
