Rancho La Joya in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

What is the service and staff like at Rancho La Joya?

Guest opinions regarding the staff are mixed. Many note that the employees are very friendly, courteous, and make them feel right at home, highlighting in particular the professionalism of Silvia and Juan Manuel. However, there are also negative reviews: some guests encountered a cold and disorganized reception at check-in, rudeness from management (specifically, the owner's daughter), and an unfriendly attitude from waitstaff when resolving issues. A lack of staff training in emergency situations was also mentioned.

What kind of dining is offered at the hotel?

Guests describe the food as delicious, though they note that the breakfast selection is limited. Reviews also mention a hygiene issue with appetizer service during events, where multiple people take food from a single shared platter, causing guest dissatisfaction.

How reliable is the Wi-Fi at Rancho La Joya?

Internet connectivity at the hotel receives negative feedback. Guests complain of poor and unstable Wi-Fi throughout their stay, which caused significant inconvenience.

What is the condition of the rooms and furniture?

The condition of the rooms raises serious concerns. Guests report a need for major renovations: rooms have mold, peeling paint due to humidity, cobwebs on furniture, and a damp odor. There are complaints regarding bathroom issues (broken partitions, problems with showerheads and drains), a lack of hot water, and malfunctioning fans. It is also noted that some rooms are too small and the bed linens appear worn out.

How is the cleanliness and maintenance of the grounds?

The hotel grounds and gardens are described as magnificent, very beautiful, and well-maintained with lush greenery. However, the cleanliness of certain areas raises questions: one guest noted that the pool was not cleaned over the weekend, and part of the building facade looks neglected. Poor lighting on the stairs and in the lobby was also mentioned.

Is Rancho La Joya suitable for weddings and events?

Many guests consider this venue ideal and "magical" for weddings thanks to its beautiful green spaces and a majestic tree for ceremonies. However, a serious safety incident occurred when a bridge collapsed with guests on it, endangering people, including children and the elderly. Some visitors also warn of high service costs and a lack of professional ethics when resolving issues following accidents.

What is the overall atmosphere at the hotel, and are there any specific location details?

The property boasts beautiful colonial architecture that transports guests to another era. The hotel is situated in a picturesque setting, although some guests note that it is quite remote. It is also mentioned that the access road to the hotel can be intimidating, and the location itself is characterized by some visitors as potentially unsafe.

Room 8 smells quite musty. The bathroom is broken. No TV, bad internet signal and a bit battered bedding.
The waiters of the restaurant were not kind in resolving the eventualities of the guests.
