Troncones Point Hostel Hostel

DENGUE FEVER at Troncones Point Hostal.
I was staying at troncones point hostel from Nov 20 — 29th, 2018. A girl was staying below me who contracted Dengue fever and was in very bad shape, like deathly ill. Tom and Lizz did nothing to warn the other travelers about this, nor quarantined her. When I brought it up to them, explaining that it was their responsibility to inform guests that their hostal is now a high risk zone for dengue they did nothing except denounce the hard s…cientific evidence surrounding what a dengue fever outbreak looks like. They didn't even warn guests to apply repellant after I asked them to numerous times. Instead they made up facts about dengue and even went so far as to say it wasn't confirmed the girl had dengue when she confirmed it with me herself after the doctor confirmed it with her. They clearly didn't care about their guests well-being but were more interested in making money. I ended up informing guests myself, all of whom were shocked by the hostal's negligence surrounding this. Here are the facts about dengue, please do your own research if you'd like to confirm what I've thoroughly researched (I also come from a scientific background) :
Incubation is between 4 days and two weeks once a mosquito with dengue bites. Once a mosquito has dengue they have it for their entire life. Mosquitoes generally stay within an acre of their birthplace for their entire life and feed on all things warm blooded up to three times a day.

It's a very nice and peaceful place.

I really liked the place, the treatment by Tom and his partner Liz excellent very clean, all the staff very nice, the only thing I did not like were the eco-friendly bathrooms outside of that I highly recommend it. Of course I'll be back.

The place is very nice, I contracted a room at a certain price, when we got there, they offered us a plan where everything was included and I talk about food and drinks. On the 2nd day of my stay I leave with that: "Always not. " We can include everything, "that it had been a mistake of the administrator", this caused us great annoyance to the degree of arguing with the owner of the place.

A hidden gem at Troncones Point!

This is the best place to stay in all of Mexico. Everything about this hostel is perfect. Attention to detail has been paramount to making your stay a memorable holiday. Hosts Tom and Lizzett welcome you with open arms and huge smiles. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Be prepared for fun times and meeting interesting people. A great place to stay especially for the price, owners are friendly and welcoming and the beach is a minute walk away.

With 6 years of travelling under my belt I rate this as the best hostel I have ever stayed at. Warms my heart thinking about my time there.

I'd definetly recommend it, especially for surfers!

Solo female surfer, 1 week in Mexico and this was by far the best place I could have stayed. Met amazing people, enjoyed beautiful views, super comfortable and clean rooms and an amazing kitchen to cook up a feast and blend up some beverages from. I would definitely, without hesitation stay there again. I felt like I was home and hanging out with family. (The family you like to hang out with :-)

Excellent value & wonderful staff!

Great place run by great, friendly, and generous people. The only blight is that the mattresses in the dorms are super uncomfortable.

My GF and I just got back from a week in paradise with Tom at the TPH in the Casa Ceilo, and we wish we were back. TPH exceeded every expectation we had! From the initial e-mail correspondence with Tom to the time we checked out, the service was nothing but amazing. Tom did an amazing job of ensuring our room and the facilities were well maintained and helped us sort out all of questions before arriving and during our stay. Tom makes sure the vibe of the hostel stays laid back and warm, and also manages to run it super well. The staff at the hostel cleaned our room everyday, were so friendly and keep the place looking pristine. Having stayed in dozens of hostels across Latin America and Asia, this one was of the most beautiful and cleanest hostels I have ever, with an amazing open air kitchen overlooking the ocean. For a couple looking for a little more privacy but also wanting to meet fellow travellers and enjoy a laid back atmosphere, I cant recommend staying in the Casa Ceilo room — it was worth every penny.
