Las Hadas by Brisas

Las Hadas continues to be our go-to Thanksgivng week vacation destination. Yes, it is an older property. Yes, things aren't shiny and new. But what it lacks in modernization it more than makes up for in charm and overall value. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The rooms are adequate, although the hot water issue (some or the rooms we have had did not have hot water or it took extremely long to get hot) continues to persist. Another quirk is the disconnect between what is booked on Orbitz and what is assigned at check-in. We have been coming here for three years and every year is confusing. I will mention here that the check in staff did a great job of explaining the amenities and hours of operations of the restaurants. Another bonus is the conversion to a 24-hour policy for the gym. The multi-cable machine is in need of repair though as is one of the treadmills (the platform doesn't move up or down). Even with all this, this is a great place if you don't mind hanging out with families for the week. Enjoy your stay!

We’ve been coming here three years in a row. Love this hotel because the pool and beach area are a perfect place to relax for a few days. The architecture of the hotel is unique. Fabulous views. Excellent restaurants, breakfast is plentiful and excellent. Service is great.
All the service staff are very friendly. My only gripe would be the drinks at the pool bar. For the price they are just plain awful. Sugar water with a shot of tequila or rum. Please improve these.

We came here for a week as a group of 8 people (4 couples) from Oct 27 until Nov 2. The hotel was very clean and the staff were fantastic. The front desk staff were always very friendly and happy to interact with us. My wife and I have been to Mx over 20 times and had stayed at this hotel chain before but not in Manzanillo. We never had to wait in line for food and/or drinks or had any issues getting pool or beach chairs which was amazing. We only had two minor issues during our visit: when we were having dinner at one of the ala cartes we had ordered some tequila and when we left we were given a bill for 1000 pesos for the drinks even though we had the all inclusive package. One night when we were in the lobby bar they had no Smirnoff and we were told by the bar tender (not Juan Carlos as this was his night off) that he was not getting anymore. This particular bar tender only worked the single night in the lobby bar when were there and he was a bit rude and did not seem to want to serve us. There were 2 specific staff members who were absolutely incredible during our stay. Juan Carlos in the lobby bar was amazing and so was Blas in the breakfast buffet. These two gentleman were the best we have ever had at any all inclusive. Both are extremely friendly and were 1 step ahead trying to anticipate what we were going to ask for. Kudos to the hotel management for having such great people there.

Wonderful hotel! Beautiful and interesting architecture from the 1970s (this place must’ve been so dope back in the day! ), truly wonderful service from the very kind staff. Great spa services. Had a great massage from Janet. Highly recommend. Loved it so much went back twice! We did have a little problem with our room the first few nights, but the general manager of the hotel was so kind and moved us to an upgraded room that was absolutely spectacular. We were very happy with the upgrade. My only minor complaint is that the hotel could do with some upgrades, some power washing, some repainting, freshening up, etc. Also, the food at the buffet was kind of mid, so I don’t recommend the all-inclusive package. The breakfast buffet was good, the birria tacos at the little stand on the beach were perfect for lunch, and then we walked down to the cute restaurants at the port for dinner. Very grateful for the wonderful service we received at this relaxing resort on the beach. Oh also, I highly recommend the Brisas Beach Club rooms for access to the quieter adult pool. Love the old-school, historic vibe of this hotel, and really I can’t say enough great things about the staff. A beautiful experience all around.

Excellent location and views. Seafood at El Delfins Restaurant was awesome. We especially liked the adult pool. Beautiful private beach to view awesome sunrises. The restaurants in the Las Hadas Marina in the evening are a great place to catch dinner and great live music.

We paid $US 150 each for the New Years Eve celebration at las Hadas, which was supposed to include a buffet, drinks, a stage show and fireworks. Our table was situated at the back of the open air venue, far from the stage (our choice), but from the beginning of the evening the music was so loud that we had to shout in each other's ears to hear each other talk. Everyone at our table was unhappy with it and three of us approached the waiters, the maitre d' and the jefe of the event in turn. We were told at the beginning that it was a "fiesta" and that it had to be loud. Then they were told they would turn it down "un pocito" (they did not). The ground was literally vibrating under our feet. After multiple requests, including a visit to the front desk of the resort, we gave up, In the meantime, we tried the buffet. The beef was mostly fat, the salmon was undercooked, at least one of the langoustine was completely raw, and the margaritas and micheladas were weak and flavorless. For a supposedly luxury resort, the food quality was deplorable and the pounding, ear-splitting music was so bad that we left before the fireworks started. One person at our table pleaded with the maitre d' on behalf of her elderly mother to no avail, and requests in both spanish and english were effectively ignored. I would advise anyone planning to attend a large event at Las Hadas to spend your money somewhere else.

This hotel, while boasting a 5-star image, falls dramatically short of expectations.
Here's a breakdown of its shortcomings:
Accessibility is a Major Issue:
* Built on a hill with limited elevators: Navigating the property is a challenge due to steep stairs and a scarcity of small, unreliable elevators. This poses significant difficulties for guests with mobility limitations. The hotel does offer a shuttle like service, within the property using golf carts. They however, are old and still a limitation for bigger individuals. Not to mention, although they have a quick response time, you still have to wait for them.
* Outdated infrastructure: Constructed in the 1970s, the hotel's age is evident in its layout and lack of modern accessibility features. This facility is not ADA compliant.
Subpar Amenities and Service:
* Unheated pool: The pool, a key feature for many guests, is unheated making it a bad experience in cooler weather. Which it was even though Manzanillo tends to be hot throughout the year.
* Overpriced and underwhelming food: The food quality is poor and overpriced, with questionable hygiene practices. Even if you are paying in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars.
* Worn-out rooms: Despite being clean and spacious, the rooms show their age with signs of decay in the showers and intermittent water supply.
* Exorbitant charges for old towels: Charging 200 pesos for a missing towel is unreasonable considering the towels provided are far from new.

At first, we loved the property. It's beautiful. The beach is very clean as well as the pools. The property is well maintained, and the staff is constantly working to make everything prefect.
The food was ok. Breakfast was really good. There's a few close by restaurants that we walked to when we wanted something different, and I highly recommend the pizza and sushi places.
We stayed over Christmas, and the staff did an excellent job of decorating.
I also need to mention the following, I spoke with the manager, but nothing seems to have been done or changed:
On night 3 of our stay, a staff member came to our door at 1130pm. He rang the doorbell and, after answering, said he was making sure someone was still in the room. That was very scary. A few minutes later… at 1135pm, the phone rang. It was the front desk. They literally asked us if we paid for our stay? What? I went to the desk in the morning and was told everything was OK. Well, NO. It's not. I didn't sleep at all thinking we're going to get asked to leave because of some error by the staff. This incident really gave me concern about this resort. I spoke to the manager. He said he would take care of this and get back to me. He didn't. I never heard from him again.
Next item: Laundry. It's a great service if it's done right. We were told the laundry would be done at 1030am, so we went to pick it up, and it wasn't done. We asked a couple of times that day when it would be done.

Our stay was goin on well until we went to the restaurant only to be so disappointed.
The service was some how stressful. The waitress were in a hurry, and never smiled making us feel unwelcome and unwanted. The food was under cooked, under played and super small portions, oh relative expensive. Yes we were very disappointed. I wish Management takes note and take a good look at what the restaurant is really doing to the clients. Again we were very dissapointed of their service. Next day we all were stomach sick. Not a good way to spend vacations in the so called Great Resort.

Great place for a vacation. Our room was upgraded to a fantasy suite overlooking the beach. The food was great and the staff very friendly.
Plenty of things to do nearby. The pool was excellent my wife spent most of the days in it. Extremeley clean hotel and the whole facility.

Beautiful property and architecture that makes you feel as if you're in Greece. I find that the value for price is not that great with the food being mediocre and the view from the beach being the industrial port.

Very nice and friendly atmosphere, the staff is amazing, te hotel amenities are good, and the food and beverages are ok, we enjoy the hotel arquitecture so much, its a beautiful place that is a must!

I find the hotel to be decent quality… clean and food is good. Beach is nearby, but just fine. Food and Drink are good, no issues.
However, the INTERNET SUCKS… I got a speed of only 2 MBPS, which is too low to get anything done. And they want me to pay 80 USD extra for the high speed internet. Also, please restock the toiletries.
The staff is nice and sweet, doing their job. However, this is management issue. If the guest needs internet, don't ask extra 80 USD… a decent high speed internet is a necessity nowadays and expected from hotels.

We Highly recommend this place great prices for all exclusive! Hey just need to update the page when are the restaurants open Sundays most of them are close, is crazy because because we travel to celebrate our birthday in one of them and nobody tell us about the schedule! Really disappointed.

The hotel needs renovations because it's a bit dated. But the heart of the resort is the employees. Brenda in reception is a superstar! I went to that desk at least 5 times and she always greeted me with a smile. The maintenance guy that came by, I think Emerson, was such a sweetheart. His shift was almost over but he insisted on addressing my concerns. Fernando was my golf club driver. Super nice guy. Eva was the cleaning lady I saw around and always said hi to. I am beyond impressed by the employees and definitely recommend it if you're visiting the area.
They have a private beach and restaurants on site. It does require some walking depending on where your room is located, but you can have them pick you up in the golf cart. Tons of food options during breakfast, that's the only meal I ate there. The pool is large and they have a smaller one for younger kids. They have activities throughout the day if you want to play or exercise. It's a 20min uber ride to old town Manzanillo.

Horrible experience of a hotel that only wants to get the most out of their guests. Impossible to book a table at a proper restaurant. They have a very grotesque booking system in which one has to stand in a queue during hours with a bunch of people and at the end they only accept very few clients). It seem that they do not want to have people eating in their restaurants. They rather direct you to the buffet restaurant that serves very bad food. There are several restaurants in this resort, but they only open 1 a day and they only admit a bout 50-60 people each evening… One wonders what is the resaon of closing all resturants when the hotel is fully booked!?

Considering the Hotel is about 50 years old; it is well maintained. I liked the room, except for the bathrooms. The toilet in our room made a high pitch sound in the middle of the night. The floor tile should be changed, it looks old and has yellow spots that look like stains but are not. There was Three of us and they only left two coffee cups and K-cups, we had to keep reminding them to bring extra. The food at the two dolphins was marginal at best. The food at the buffets was very good, only issue is they didn't cover the fruit, and the flies were all over the fruit, not a condiment I want on my fruit. Again, the bathrooms on the main floor reception, both male and female bathroom had no toilet paper on both dispensers. The bathrooms next to the buffet, are for small people. The reservation restaurant, the food was good, I expected it to be better. The Mexican wine was actually very good! The staff that worked the restaurants was extremely curious, I would give them a A+. The beach waiters were also very nice. The celebration with the Mariachi's and the folklorico dancers was the highlight of the stay. One comment on the celebration with live music in the lobby, acrostics in the lobby were horrible, the sound / music was undiscernible, it should have been done on the outdoor stage, the sound was bouncing off all the hard surfaces. It could have been poor sound mixing. Overall, this was a worthy stay we enjoyed.
