I used to always stay at Quinta Real when traveling to Aguascalientes, but this will definitely be my last time. There is a fine line between preserving a charming "colonial style" and simply letting a property fall apart, and this hotel has crossed it. It looks old, unkept, and like a ghost of what used to be a high-standard hotel.
The lack of maintenance is evident everywhere:
The Gym: Extremely basic, but worse, the machines are ancient. One of the cables is literally about to snap—it is an accident waiting to happen.
The Room: It feels neglected. There’s a bizarre leftover piece of an old landline fixture in the bathroom that serves no purpose. The toiletries stand was broken, and the paint is peeling off the walls.
The Bathroom: The worst part was the bathtub. It has clearly seen better days and the surface is peeling off, which feels incredibly unhygienic.
To top it off, the basic amenities were an ordeal. The coffee station only had one mug, so I had to request a second one. Later, I actually had to argue with staff just to get a missing coffee capsule.
It's incredibly disappointing to see such a legendary hotel slide into this state. I will not be staying here again.
