Review of Palazzo Consiglia - IK Collection 4*

I stayed here for a week with my immediate and extended family in the run-up to my wedding at the end of April 2017. We took a total of 8 rooms. I first made an enquiry in early 2016 and had the pleasure of corresponding with Robert Milo (the General Manager) on email for over a year. I was struck by his attention to detail — never failing to respond within a few hours and answering each and every question with care (and with a different colour no less — major plus points). Organising room bookings, family preferences, meal reservations, parking permits for the wedding day and an externally catered wedding lunch for 20 in the delightful foyer of the hotel was no mean feat — but Robert and his equally capable team made all of these things a breeze. I felt like I had my own personal PA by the end of our >100 email correspondence. From building a wooden 'step' at short notice to ensure my elderly grandparents could access the lift safely, to Robert going out to buy a desk and chair for my brother so he could study for exams in his room, to remembering how my mum liked her coffee in the morning, to the friendly housekeeping service who never felt to greet you and smile — the personalised customer service they provided was second to none. Not to mention the beautifully restored 400-year old Palazzo which provided an amazing backdrop for my wedding photos, its beautiful individually designed rooms, the atmospheric 'cave-like' spa in the basement and the superb view from the rooftop pool. Sure there were a few minor issues such as leaking bathrooms, occasional clogged sinks and breakfast quality that could be improved on — however the customer service provided at this hotel, including their willingness to listen to customers far outweighed any of this. Palazzo Consiglia was THE perfect base for my family's first visit to Malta and we know for certain we will be back to stay in this wonderful hotel. Thank you Robert and team for going above and beyond to ensure that our wedding week was a great success!
