Great service and Dream view.

Nice hotel with very nice panoramic view of Valletta. Our room was very large, as was the bathroom. The furniture has come a little in the years and in the bathroom could at least be renewed the joints, but it was clean. In the courtyard are a pool bar and 2 restaurants. Breakfast is typically British.

We visited spa which is right before a major renoval and it has to be renovated really.

This is not 4 star. We have been going to Malta for the last 10 years and this is the worst hotel we have stayed in. Apparently they are closing it next year according to the holiday rep and this would make sense as the rooms needed updating and the food needs improving. The front of house staff were not very friendly. The location is lovely and the cleaning staff were brilliant.

The place is closing soon for a major and much needed refurbishment. Let's hope it returns as one of the best hotels in Malta when it re-opens in 2020.

Very nice setting for the pool terrace Room.

There is a great fitness studio at the hotel. It is very spacious and equipped with a very big choice of the latest Cybex machines, very decent free weight area. Plus: a nice mirror room for exercises with music, where You are aloud to bring your own music and play it on a very good stereo. Breakfast can become boring, but dine around restaurants are very very good. Rooms, as been told by many, do need updating. Lots of mosquitos. Make sure you bring or by repellents with you. Overall: My partner and I enjoyed the stay. 4 rating stars **** from us.

Terrible dated rooms. Ridiculous prices. Terrible front desk staff, gave us an "upgrade" but it was anything but an upgrade. Would give it 0 stars if I could.

Very bad hotel. It doesn't even deserve 3 stars. It has ample common but unused spaces. Very clean Very clean room One day the towels were missing, one day the bathrobes, if you dirty the sheets with the coffee (it can happen) make the bed with the same even if the stain is obvious. Hot tub not working and lock of the plug broken (I cut my finger to ask for the CAP) taken with two fingers of fat and dirt close. Smelling carpet. Balconies left in the wild with dust and dirt everywhere. No assistance if you ask for bathrobes they look bad. Shower that loses water and bath that is flooded, it touches you dry x Earth after each shower to not fall. Pool nice common but kept bad. Pool Bar closes early in the afternoon and you can't even take towels. Coffee machine and kettle in Room (nice thing) pity that once you have eaten the two waffles do not replace them for all your stay. In 5 days They never cleaned the balconies. I left a cup on the coffee table and stayed there three days. The property is made from two hotels, a 4 star (in my opinion better) and a 5 star (bad). The spa is big but dated it is communicating with the 4 star and the reception of the 5 star is abandoned to itself, we had to go to the Czech until the reception of the 4 stars to get info. I recommend to use the 4 stars. Positive note the strategic location. Disappointed as much as it cost us.

Deluxe room with sea view. Very noisy from street at night. Kettle not working. Mould in shower. Very hard bed. Food not 4 star in main restaurant. Limited in choise. Uht milk etc. View of Valetter very good. Staff excellent. Facilities very good.

Great location. Fantastic facilities. Problem with lights initially but was sorted out in a few hours.

Very nice if a little older hotel. Staff and service excellent. Room we had was very spacious with two double beds and bath and shower. It was a "wellness room" and had a infra red sitting in box in the corner. Air conditioning worked well but was noisy at night. Hotel had two pools one overlooking sea and Valletta. We had "dine around" eating with good selection of restaurants.

It was amazing, but the rooms were quite dusty but the food was on point. The waiters were seriously the nicest people you could ever meet. I loved it there although the air conditioning was a little bit noisy.

Supposed to be 5 star but frankly it's a bit disappointing. The building itself is nice but the service was somewhat lacking in some areas. Reception were consistently good though.

Five stars can be placed for Malta. Good room, decent service. Of the disadvantages — the beach at the sea is not, but so almost everywhere in Malta.

This hotel may be past its heydey but the poor reviews I've read about this place are so far from reality it's not even funny. There were a few staff members that were not incredibly friendly (as there are everywhere), but in general the staff was super friendly. The food was also great (we had the all inclusive option). The drinks were also pretty good. There could be some training done for the staff to make them aware of things going on in the resort outside of their regular working area, but that's the only negative I can say about this place. It also offers one of the best views in Malta at the pool and from some rooms, and I would absolutely recommend this place to others and would definitely return myself. The people who are complaining about this place are nit-picking. Try it out for yourself and you won't be disappointed.

A personal SPA… a hotel that offers great facilities.

Fabulous Hotel full of amenities, very well located overlooking the bay right in front of Valletta.

Loved it. Great staff and location.

The hotel is old but well built. The spa facilities are extensive. The rooms are fine. The layout along with the sister hotel next door is extremely confusing and it's easy to get lost. The garden views share with the neighbours from another building at the back. Pool area is really good though.

Its location and its breathtaking view of the Valletta are its main strengths. The hotel is partially restored but not the bedding.

5 Star Resort, staff always available…

Good place, clean, silent (we could sleep well) only downside when opening the window to get fresh air (or in the night) we often got passive smoke…

N. B. The review relates to the only pool area at the base of the hotel this is because it is accessible even if not direct customers of the hotel itself.
Big enough area with 2 pools of about 10x6 meters divided by a piano bar…
There are a hundred umbrellas with 2 deckchairs each, I highly recommend going in the morning to 9am as the places end up quickly.
The cost (for non-hotel customers) is €15 for the whole day.

Had a wonderful holiday in April 2014. Coming back in September 2015. We will celebrate our Golden wedding here with some friends. Staff are great, food is lovely, in all the restaurants. Cant wait! Ian, Argyll, Scotland.

My parents stayed at the Fortina 4 star from June to July 2014 (six weeks) and they could not fault the hotel. Their room had a view that was priceless, Facilities were up to standard. Staff were very helpful. The food was of top quality as was everything else. The location of the hotel was ideal; close to transport as well as restaurants and shops. Would go again anytime and would recommend it to anyone.

Ninth visit. Still top as a holiday hotel. Development works were not intrusive. Staff were friendly and helpful, Restaurant service and food were very good. Dine around was cream on the cake. Would I go again — yes definitely.

Had our honeymoon here. It's amazing. Would live to be there now.

Excellent place&well decorated. Rooms are well furnished and beds were comfortable. We were on half-board and were spoilt for choice at the restaurants (there are 6 if not mistaken). The food was awesome. We will definitely beback again soon.

The restaurants have great food and the pool is incredibly beautiful and relaxing.
