Lantern Guest House

Me and my wife stood at the lantern guest house for 7 nights and the only thing to say about this it was absolutely wonderful. Joseph and his family are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very delicious everything there you need for a good start in the day. You want to stay in marsalforn at gozo go there.
Nice clean rooms and just perfect for enjoyable stay.

Lovely village plenty of restaurants ect very peaceful I stopped in one of the lantern apartments it was very clean and everything you needed, run by Joseph and his family Lovely people couldn't do enough would highly recommend.

Stayed for 1 night as I was doing the coastal trek around Gozo. Super nice, family-run place. Breakfast by I think the nanna of the family was very tasty. Can recommend.

Stayed at the Lantern Guest House during a dive trip at the end of April — and it‘s been perfect for my needs. What makes this guesthouse special is its owner Joseph. He‘s been very friendly, helpful and you feel his passion to provide a pleasant stay to everyone. Such a great host!

I had booked a one-night stay for my daughter and her friends, and I was certain I had booked from Saturday, March 1st, to March 2nd. I sent the deposit via Revolut, and everything seemed fine up to that point. I made the booking over the phone, and to be fair, I never asked for a booking confirmation – that was my mistake.
When Saturday arrived, they went to check in, only to be told that the booking was actually for the previous night. I called the owner, but he kept insisting that he had tried calling me and couldn’t reach me. However, when I asked him to show me the call log as proof, he refused.
When I asked for the deposit back, he said he couldn’t refund it because it was our fault. He didn’t even have the decency to try and offer them an alternative solution. Unfortunately, they lost their entire night out since we couldn’t find another place for them to stay.
It’s not about the €50 deposit, but about the way we were treated. Be careful, because they might do the same to you, especially during busy periods. It really felt like a scam.

A very nice, comfortable guesthouse a few minutes' walk from the sometimes wet and windy, picturesque seafront, the Lantern Guest House is pretty much one of the best places I have ever stayed!
Joseph and the ladies who help him are very helpful, and are happy to give advice about the area. My room was at the front, third floor, via the lift, and the room was very comfortable with a small balcony and a lovely bed with soft pillows and bedding.
Joseph's English breakfast was very good — I had to avoid the cake or I would've gone home the size of an elephant, but I walked away from breakfast feeling very full up, and coffee'd up! The bathroom was small but easy to use. There are some good supermarkets nearby, and transport around the island is nearby.
Below the guest house is the Lantern restaurant — a very good menu for diners, I had lamb shanks, perfectly cooked, very enjoyable.
The area has other great restaurants; the Smugglers Cave does great roast chicken, while the Hot Wok Chinese restaurant cooked me a fantastic chicken with green peppers in black bean sauce.
Coffee shops — the small but hip Coffee Circus makes a good brew, and the Candy Cafe on the seafront makes pretty much the best Americano I've had in years (Saquella coffee rocks! ) served very well by the polite young people working there!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and a couple of minutes to the sea front. The room doesn't have sea views but was cheap.

We enjoyed our meal well and they gave us excellent service. The prices of the meals are affordable. This is the best Restaurant in Marsalforn (Gozo, Malta 🇲🇹)

This is an honest to goodness eating place with service to match — their traditional rabbit in gravy and pasta were delicious and reasonably priced — our host (I believe his name is Kevin) showed experience and friendliness that made our stay pleasant.

Joseph and his family were so so so welcoming. Check in is at 2.30 PM however we went there by 7.30 AM itself and still Joseph helped us with a room. It's a nice cozy room. We had a peaceful time there. We slept without any disturbances. One midnight AC stopped working. It's 12.30 AM. Still Joseph came to help us and he got it fixed. Breakfast was the best part. We tasted different pastries. It does feel like a home rather than a hotel because of the hospitality of Joseph and family. Thank you very much Joseph ❤️. The energy you and your family have is extraordinary.

Lovely spot to spend a few nights while you're on holiday in Gozo. Two minutes walk to the beach and scuba centres. Really good service, clean, reliable, great location for walks and restaurants.

Ive usually stayed at chain hotels but decided to give a guest house a try for this trip and the Lantern was the best first experience.
This hotel is a long time family business with a very homely and personal feel while still being very professionally run and cleaned.
I had forgotten my charger and while Joseph could have easily told me he did not have one on hand. He personally lent me his own charger. You can tell this guest house is very well taken care of by its owner and everyone should give this place a try.

Hi Me and my husband stayed there last weekend had an enjoyable experience. Room was very clean and Maria is super friendly and so sweet she even cooked us a full english breakfast we would definitely go again.

A very clean and hospitable place to stay. I especially liked how maintained the rooms were, the breakfast was very enjoyable as it was varied, so one always had a choice in what to get. The hosts are also very kind and flexible, the rooms have functional AC. Overall, we enjoyed the stay we had in the Lantern Guesthouse.

Good place for a short holiday. Place is very clean and well kept. Although you cannot park a vehicle near to the guest house, there is z free public parking not so far away. The owners are very helpful. Breakfast is abundant. What else do you need? Thank you Joseph.

Wonderful place to stay great staff and food. The breakfast was cooked by Joseph and his mother. It was a short walk to the waterfront and great places to eat. I will stay there again in 2023.
