Hotel Calypso

As a hotel, absolutely fine. The room we had was a good size, although the bathroom is a bit small. But a large, very comfortable bed.
The breakfast was average at best. Watered down juice, iffy quality cooked food and no maltese fare.
The real selling point is the view. If you come, get a room with a balcony view of the sea. It is stunning!

Location is at Marsalforn bay, convenient with restaurants and beaches around but sometimes cars can't get in the street in front of the hotel so not so handy with Bolt or Uber.
Room were ok. Simple, have everything you need, TV, refrigerator, electric kettle.
We had small balcony that face side of the hotel and in far Seaview.
In the hallway of our room we could smell cooking from the kitchen so it's not so nice.
Breakfast were nice. Variety of food and have small terrace you can enjoy morning view of Marsalforn.
Rooftop is swimming pool, sun beds and bar. Self-service. Cocktails were nice, served in plastic cup.

Ladies at reception were kind and helpful. They helped us with store luggages before check in time.
With check out we asked for late check in because my husband felt unwell. They had option to stay till 3 pm for 30 euro. (Normal check out time is 11 am)

This certainly was not a four-star-hotel. Maybe in the old days, it was. Now it's old fashioned hotel with old furniture which is falling apart-like the chair in our room. The room was clean and the bathroom had a bath which was very nice!
The major downside was the heating system which was too loud to use while sleeping. We turned it off and slept in a really chilly room.
The restaurant was fine-with standard selection of breakfast products. It had a lovely view over the bay.
Overall, I must admit I'd not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I returned 2 days ago from the Hotel Calypso after a lovely 2 week stay and I can't wait till I go back again… I have already booked for next May. The hotel is beautifully situated on the bay with many restaurants lining the harbour. When I arrived I was delighted to find that I had been upgraded to a room with a sea view. The room was quite spacious and I slept very well in a big comfortable bed. The view from my balcony was amazing and it was very nice to find there was a small fridge in the room. The buffet breakfast was very good with both continental and cooked and there was always a plentiful supply of fresh fruit. The rooms were very clean and were made over every day. The view from the roomtop is brilliant… there are plenty of comfortable sun loungers. A big thank you to all the staff who were always very friendly and welcoming, especially Alexandra and her two colleagues in reception who were only too happy to help.

This hotel is a great beach side hotel. Expect ceramic floors and clean rooms. They could be renovated but they are not worn out and are kept very clean. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the hotel services and amenities were just what I needed. The breakfast also offers a great selection and you can eat on the terrace facing the bay. All around great experience!

Everything is fabulous. Beautiful suite, big rooms, beautiful bathrooms, couldn’t ask for more and the most beautiful view in the world.

Great here the restaurant manager Giovanni is one of the best both at breakfast of the jürgen and all other service staff in the restaurant you can only praise they do a super great job. Reception as well as houskepping are super friendly and if you have any questions they are immediately there for you. Top rental worker has this hotel we will definitely be back. The hotel is beautiful. Would also like to thank you for the great time. With souvenirs of our kids hanging next to the elevator.

Nice hotel but some water in the room as a courtesy would be nice.

We stayed at this hotel between the 9th and 11th September on A half board basis. Although the rooms were comfortable and clean with a great view, I do not recommend you stay on A half board basis. There were no food options whatsoever in the evening dinner. Furthermore, the portions were extra small. For starters, we ordered fresh ravioli but were given tortellini instead, and were not advised about it beforehand. The options given by the management were also very scarse. We asked whether we could cancel our half board stay for the day and were given an option to choose a one course meal upstairs in the sunset bar. However, when we got there we were treated very poorly as if we were being punished. At first, the head waiter was very rude and gave us the same scarse menu we were given downstairs where we were told that we can only choose one option from the menu. We explained that we are still there on A half board basis and it was not acceptable that we can only choose one option from the half board menu. After long discussions and phone calls, we were finally given another menu with many more options to choose from. However, for the rest of the night we were treated as unwanted guests, where the waiter was also rude, did not offer us any wine list menu with no courtesy whatsoever.
If you choose to go to this hotel, I do not recommend half board definitely.

The service was excellent. The food was good as always The rooms always cleaned. The staff are all helpful and kind and always with a smile.

Staff was very helpful however hotel was a mess! Beds are very hard to sleep on (personal opinion), no black outs in the room, no water pressure in the shower, no water bottles available in the room, empty mini fridge, bedroom door doesnt lock well, old towels, smell of drainage in pool area, overly priced and definitely not a 4star hotel.

Enjoyed our few days over New Year's period immensely. Great atmosphere during New Year s eve dinner & safe too. Manager did his utmost to keep everyone happy. Will be back…

Very comfortable and cleaned hotel. Our room had an amazing view on Malsaforn's bay. Everything was perfect, food and service excellent. A special mention goes to all the professional staff of the restaurants, in particular to Max, Diego, Samir, Ivana; they always did their best to satisfy our requests. Highly recommended!
