Review of Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives - Kids Stay & Eat Free 4*

I went there for my honeymoon and stayed for 4 nights in 2nd week of December. The resort is located on an island owned by them and offers 4 types of accommodations. I will start with the reception at the airport, as it is critical for a trip to Maldives. I was greeted by a representative at the Male airport with a glass of red bull and goodies. The welcome was warm and after a short waiting time of 15 minutes our speed boat arrived. We were clubbed with other guests of the resort and took the spectacular ride to the resort. The speed boat ride included a safety briefing which made me fell to be in safe hands. The resort reception had a separate check in counter for me and my wife (Thanks to my IHG gold membership). The representative (originally from Prague), Thomas was very courteous and surprised us with a free room upgrade to Beach Villas. The buggies took us to the room with heavenly views. The first floor was bed room with a changing room and electronic locker (basics) and an open area for shower, the room also had an orange juicer, which I found interesting. The ground floor is like an unwinding area with sitting space, a shower and two beach beds. The beds were comfortable and the sleep quality was mesmerizing because of quietness. The service at the hotel was spectacular and the amenities too. Personalized services, greetings at the room from GM and round the clock assistance. The island is a small one, you can walk around the island in 15 minutes with two beaches on the south and west. (My villa was on the south beach with a nice view of two islands). The pools are nice, not so deep ones, good for relaxing. I visited 3 restaurants, one was for buffet meals only, used to go there for breakfasts. Another restaurant was on the pool side with good spread of continental food. The B&B manager greeted us there for being a honey moon couple. The other restaurant is on north beach and had a very nice view with slightly higher waves. The food was good at all three restaurants. The snorkelling and scuba diving guides were well trained and helped us in enjoying a superb view. Since the resort was on a dearer side, the gentry was also nice. All in all a very spectacular place to stay and enjoy your holidays. I will definitely return here.
