I had an amazing time! Did some diving, snorkeling, swimming and met new friends. All staff was great, but key awesome staff I dealt with regularly: Renuka, Arun (bar), Haleem (engineering svs), Nihaan and Shawn (dive center), Ali and the team (snorkeling/outdoor activities), and Naufal (guest svs) and Dr…. So many more, but too many to catch them all ❤️❤️. And made so many new friends!

A holiday never to forget. Great staff, especially Arun at the bar, always giving that extra special service. In general very friendly staff. Food quality good and hygienic. We stayed 7 days. Airline crew (BA, LH and Austrian) also stay at the resort, at times can be noisy and crowded. But enough space on the island to avoid them.

Great Location — very friendly staff — especially Dr. Banuj — the Medical Doctor on the island, who treated my injuries so well after an accident! 👌🤗 The snorkelling excursions are awesome!

My parents stayed at this resort for 15 days and they felt they were in paradise.
Everything was very clean, and they felt very safe. All staff are very friendly and helpful. They say that the food and the beach are 5 star. Swimming with the turtles was fantastic. An experience to be repeated whenever possible.

We had a wonderful time at Holiday Inn Kandooma with our 2.5 year old son. The hospitality was truly extraordinary with special care for kids. This place is extremely kid friendly right from special kid menu to kid play area. The staff is friendly and courteous and always ready to go out of their way to offer convenience. The chef cooked special Indian dishes for us that were mouthwatering and delicious. They've got our heart and we would happily recommend this place to anyone planning their trip anytime to Maldives.

It all started with a 45 minutes sea cruise to the holiday inn resort, and you are truly mesmerised when you reach the resort. A wide swimming pool, fantastic beach, a lagoon, splendid restaurant, amazing bar, luxurious sea facing villas, water villas, top class hospitality. What else do you ask for? You are facilitated for check in and check out from jetty to resort and vice versa. Resort is very nicely managed and truly a green resort. Aqua games, snorkeling and scuba diving can be done with little bit of training.
We had an amazing experience and recommend the place to others.

A big bonus is complimentary clinic services, as my 2yr son got awful sunburns and he got treated there and was given creams and lotions to help heal the area. Thanks to the receptionist who offered us real organic Aloe vera to help my son. Truly appreciated. Another big thank you to Mr. Mohammed Ali, our guide in Holiday inn. Managed to plan our trip and enjoy it to the fullest. The food is good and mainly concentrates on Indian and Asian cuisines. And they have a special kids menu (with no extra charges), if you have picky eaters. the kids club is great, friendly staff and takes care of the kids. Thanks Holiday Inn for making our trip a memorable one.

One of the best places in earth. The staff is brilliant, the beaches are just exotic, just out of the book. If you don’t stay here you are making a big mistake.

Beautiful resort with all facilities. Have got room upgrade and discount on transfers. All employees are kind and helpful. Special thanks to the guy who recieved us and gave room upgrade, discount on arrival. food is expensive by 2 to 3 times ; since food is shipped. Ok with that since they have to ship every item. few minus things are no life guards and no cycles facility for guests … thanks to holiday inn kandooma team for excellent hospitality.

Great place to go to with your family. We booked half board and were very happy with the variety of food offered that includes a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff on the island is very friendly. Highly recommended.

Fantastic resort in the maldives. You can't really get off the island, so get the half board and full drinks packages — it gives you flexibility but also a feeling of luxury. Splurge on a villa over the water — being able to wake up, walk out and jump into the ocean is an amazing feeling. I'd recommend 3-5 days.

We were shown a room with rear patio facing the beach. Pretty looking room but we didn't find it very clean and the mirror was corroded. Took us quite a while to get a better room. Got a first floor room overlooking the beach. Average size. We had quite a bit of issues which was sorted out with service recovery done in some ways. Ordered in room dining and were served food without flatware and salt & pepper. Took half hour for the flatware — food went cold by that time. We were late for our spa because of that. We weren't happy with the overall service. We went for our fifth anniversary and — despite them being informed about it, they couldn't have made it worse for us. As an apology we got some off on F&B and got some dicsount at the fine dining room. Food was quite good. Went at a time when the place was quite booked. Lovely place but low rating for the service. Staff was actually ever smiling, but I guess because of the rush, the service suffered.

Arriving to this place is by speed boat only at extra cost. I suggest when booking to get the full board option or half board. There are plenty of restaurants available in this small island. The staff there are really friendly and amazing. Golf car services are also available for free. In terms of activities they give you a full schedule along with a map of the services they provide when you check in. A lot of great services are available for free and some come at a cost, which you can book. Such as fishing. The resort also has a gym facility as well as a tennis and basketball court. You can get the snorkeling gear for free and use it at the beach. A free snorkeling lesson is also offered in the pool, before heading to the free coral snorkeling by boat. With regards to the dolphin watching it is a paid service however if you did not see the dolphins the first time you can go another day at no cost. It all depends on your luck. This resort is a family place with a kids pool and kids play house available. Food there is great and there are night time activities as well such live music and outdoor cinema. Depending on the weather and the day. Rooms are great and simple. Only downfall is that the bathrooms are outdoor so you will find insects and cockroaches around.

Service is very good, staff always willing to help and good management team. We were lucky to get a private boat to the island as we were the only folks who arrived on the flight for Kandooma. The boat trip was very safe. Island is very secluded with good amenities. Food was great. My only negative was being quoted a lot of money to go to the next island 50 metres away. Apart from that I would highly recommend the resort.

Good place but I would not go back, Maldives is much more than going into a hotel to wait to be taken out until the last dollar as they have to their advantage the isolation of the competition, prices of an international airport and maybe higher for a poor pizza, Expensive excursions and the most stupid tells you that there is a law that forbids you to cross to the nearby island because if you do you can lose 60 dollars a mediocre lunch for the price of gourmet food they charge, when you get everything is good, just look at their prices and feel that you have no option to end up in them for excursions, dives, meals and drinks and you will feel at a resort where either you settle and leave all the pasta or better take your bags and enjoy Maldives, if they come to this Hotel make sure you bring a full all inclusive package and bring lots of money for excursions as there is no competition and they are god and dictate the laws here. On the island in front you have cafe restaurants, dive agencies, hotels that have the same plsya and only have 40 usd and a lunch 10 usd a pizza the same as anywhere in the world but you know what?

I have a tendency to love experiences in the moment, then as I reflect, feel just okay about it. So I am writing this review after having traveled to this resort almost 1 year ago. My feeling is the exact same. This place is paradise! The staff is amazing. I have a severe seafood allergy. And I've never been treated so well in my life. The island doctor called so we could coordinate the location of my Epi pen in case of emergency. Of course, the staff is so careful and professional that there were no emergencies. Snorkeling, eating dinner on the beach while listening to the ocean waves. It's an experience I will never forget. 1 year later, I still reminisce about this trip, and my friends are fed up with listening to Maldives stories!

The resort is not bad. But it is certainly not the sea of the Maldives.

This is the first private island resort. This resort is well maintained n methodical. The staff here are very cooperative and helpful. As a surprise to our honeymoon, we were gifted with a wine bottle. The dishes prepared here are presented in an awesome way and indeed the food is nice. Shark feeding was a great experience. Saw many sharks, manta rays and lobsters. To mention the last, but never the least, we had a GRAND breakfast here at Kandooma.

Very very nice Holiday Inn, very friendly and warm welcome, one of the nicest pools where I have ever been; only flaw is that the deepest point was perhaps at 1.70 but it doesn't matter. Breakfast and dinner buffet with different dishes every day. A la carte lunch with daily menu. The sea is water of course they did not disappoint my expectations. In front of the a La carte restaurant after about fifteen meters you have the coral reef. If you want to save some money for the excursions at that point you can admire many species of fish! Definitely a beautiful holiday, to repeat? Maybe!

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing resort. Only here for a few days, but left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Amazing buffet on offer for meals, a wide selection, always fresh and delicious. A basic gym if you feel the need to burn some of the calories from the buffet, or else spend the day in and around the pool. Already planning a return!

This resort is very good value for money by Maldives standard. It is a 4* hotel with a 5* service. The beach is pristine white and is cleaned daily. The staff at the resort greet you and offer help if you look lost. Security staff is everywhere. The dive center is excellent and have very high safety standard and excellent equipment, and highly capable instructors. Would recommend Holiday Inn Kandooma to all divers looking for a decent accommodation with good value. There are many dive sites for divers of all levels. Food at The kitchen is superb. I don’t recommend taking full board as you will be limited to have having your meals at the same place every day. But you have that option too.

Great place for a week of vacation. Many water activities possible. The quality of services is very good. The variety in breakfast buffet is excellent. The quality of good in the alacarte restaurant is also undoubtedly good. Once we complained about the food we got, and the chef came to us an politely apologized and made it up for it the following days. He also ensured that we did not go hungry during our boat ride back to the airport by making us a packed friut salad. The swimming pool is well maintained. The beaches are good. The noise from the local island nearby was a problem. But a temporary one. So we would not complain much. All in all, this is a great place to be in.

This island is very small, with longer stay rather boring. For snorkeling, a boat trip must be undertaken, as there is little to see on the spot. The price level for all companies is very high.

We stayed in Holiday Inn for 4 days on our honeymoon. Beautiful island it was. We stayed in the beach villa, very spacious and a view to the beach. Island can be covered by walking. The buffet has a lot of varieties, covering Asian and western cuisine. The resort has good swimming pools. We also had snorkeling lessons and tour covered in the package. Good value for the money.

Nice resort. Staff is extremely nice. Amazing snorkeling organised by the hotel. But if you want to surf be ready an extra 90$ pers/day to have access to the surf beach of the resort. Unacceptable practise for Europeans!

Not worth the money. Location is not good, local island opposite the resort. Staff is not friendly, food wasn't to great, not a nice varriety on the menu. Seems like theres no maintenance, the firts immpression you get when you arrive on the speedboat is the grass roof that is falling apart. The reception seats are dirty. I just didn't enjoy anything about this resort.

We are just back from our vacation and still missing the best moments we experienced at the Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma. One of the best Resort we ever been with our 20months old toddler who was the reason for choosing this resort. And our decision was just perfect! We had booked Beach House and on arrival we got a pleasant surprise as we were upgraded for our entire stay at OverWater Villa and we were just mesmerized! Excellent hospitality and service from the courteous staff right from we landed on the speed boat till the last day dropping us to the airport, fabulous housekeeping with keeping the room neat and tidy, Lip-smacking food at the Café and on top of that Bokkabura Café had this amazing concept of free kids menu on adult meal which our kid thoroughly enjoyed. And last but not the least Kandoo Kids which was one of the best play area for toddlers and kids with polite, experienced and loving staff to enjoy their vacation and made them happy. I would like to give 5/5 for the Resort and would highly recommend to anyone especially who are going out with their babies and children. I went there for my honeymoon and stayed for 4 nights in 2nd week of December. The resort is located on an island owned by them and offers 4 types of accommodations. I will start with the reception at the airport, as it is critical for a trip to Maldives. I was greeted by a representative at the Male airport with a glass of red bull and goodies. The welcome was warm and after a short waiting time of 15 minutes our speed boat arrived. We were clubbed with other guests of the resort and took the spectacular ride to the resort. The speed boat ride included a safety briefing which made me fell to be in safe hands. The resort reception had a separate check in counter for me and my wife (Thanks to my IHG gold membership). The representative (originally from Prague), Thomas was very courteous and surprised us with a free room upgrade to Beach Villas. The buggies took us to the room with heavenly views. The first floor was bed room with a changing room and electronic locker (basics) and an open area for shower, the room also had an orange juicer, which I found interesting. The ground floor is like an unwinding area with sitting space, a shower and two beach beds. The beds were comfortable and the sleep quality was mesmerizing because of quietness. The service at the hotel was spectacular and the amenities too. Personalized services, greetings at the room from GM and round the clock assistance.

Lovely place, very friendly staff and a place you can actually holiday. You should head off to this place if you are looking for a relaxing and soothing holiday. Stay in water villas at least for a night. Amazing experience.

Pros: Nice place to visit and have water sports. Kids and family friendly. Turtle, dolphin and corals can be explored. Nice white sand and beach view villa. All continental foods available. Cons: Food Expensive. Only few sports are complimentary like snorkeling. 6am to 6pm access to beach and pool. Open shower in all beach view villa. No bath tub.

Great place. All you need to do is, relax, enjoy the weather, take a swim, go kayaking and bask in sun. Awesome place. Staff is extremely courteous. They go out of the way to ensure you are well taken care. Please make sure your bathroom doors are locked during evenings. Lizards tend to creep in. Also keep your doors closed for night flies. Rooms are really good and spacious. Very well designed. Food is decent as well. Little choice for vegetarians, but overall great place. They also have a in house Spa. Need to plan well in advance.

Nice island, very beautiful view. The beach villa is the best solution. Was my first trip to Maldives, but I hope not the last one. You even can visit one populate island that's right near the resort. You will find spectacular blue water, a beautiful green in the plants and a magnificent white in the sand. It's very difficult to walk on the beach on a sunny day without sunglasses.

Excellent! I guess a vacation can't get better than this, fantastic place. Great views, pristine clean beaches with white sand and green/blue water, great food and amazing service, each member of staff makes you feel welcome. They have garden view villas (~100m fro beach), beach view villas (~10m from beach) and water villas (on water). Three restaurants : 1: Bokurra Coffee Club (Cheapest among all, good food, limited variety). 2: Kandooma cafe (Buffet restaurant, good variety) 3: The Kitchen (Most expensive but the experience makes it worth it). and 'Deck' for drinks. one can take half-board or full board based on preference but I would recommend at-least one meal in 'The kitchen' for the experience. if you are using credit-card then you don't need to carry cash (except for tips), everything including shopping from 'gift shop' is charged to room. Overall, amazing place, highly recommend.

We hoped for the holiday of a lifetime but maybe we expected too much? One thing I didn’t expect in November was atrocious weather. We didn’t see blue sky for four days, okay it was 30℃ but the wind was ferocious and the rain stinging. The weather put a damper on things for sure, it churned up the sea and even delayed our boat to the island but the two things that really spoiled it for me were some of the other tourists and the rubbish in the water. I went out on two organised and guided snorkelling trips and on both of them our Maldivian guide spent most of his time frantically trying to pull idiots tourists off the coral. They just never got the concept of marine conservation or how standing on the coral reef would cause it permanent damage. They trampled all over it and it seemed the wildlife was just sushi as far as they were concerned. It was dreadful. Back on our island, one of our party saw the them catching the local crabs, they were pulling the legs off and stuffing them into a plastic bag. Every swim I made around Kandooma yielded another item of rubbish from the sea. This included surgical gloves, a credit card, coffee sachets, a can of nuts, even a 10 rupee note. Friends we met on the island had a similar experience and also brought out rubbish on a daily basis. Kandooma was very well run, by some very nice people, they re-used glass bottles for water and gave us fresh oranges to squeeze every morning which was great.

Beautiful place with a slow service.

Absolutely the best. Good villas, good food, friendly staff. Good diving and fishing area. Can be expensive if you eat lobsters. Mostly English and German speaking clientele, but the island looks deserted. Don't come and pay in EUR, exchange rate is awful.

Overall our experience at Kandoma was very nice with the exception that there is a huge generator in the middle of the island that is very loud and can be heard 24/7 from all houses that face the surf break. The air around the surf break is at most times unbreathable, partly from the exhaust of the generator and partly for the practice of burning rubbish all day, which is ironic considering the Maldives will be among the first hit by the effects of rising sea level. For the future it might be good to advise the resort to stop burning toxic trash, to install solar on every house and to retire the terribly loud and stinky generator. Other than that the staff was very friendly and the resort was better than expected, we can recommend it to families, surfers and scuba divers.

Without a doubt, this was the best vacation we've ever had.

This resort is not a safe place. I lost my mobile phone inside our villa while having dinner at their restaurant. When I filed a police report regarding this issue, the Maldivian police who came to the resort told me that I am not the first one to experience this situation. This incident repeatedly has happened to other guests. Apparently, the thief climbs up the outdoor bathrooms of villas and gets access in side through the bathroom. If this did not happen only once, I highly suspect that the thieving was done by one of the resort staff. I emailed the resort about this issue weeks and months after the incident to follow up any progress. However, I have not received a single reply. This is extremely disappointing when you know they reply very quick to your emails when you are making your booking, but when time comes that their help is needed, it seems to fall on deaf ears.

I like this place a lot! If they can improve the Wi-Fi network to work in the rooms it'll be fantastic.
