I have rarely had to write a bad review on a Hotel, we travel 8 months of most years, there are many opportunities for us to experience poor Hotels and Poor Service. -1 Star for arriving into a room with long Black Hairs in the Bed. -1 Star for not having a mini Fridge in the room when the Temperatures Outside are constantly super Hot. -1 Star for being Charged $7 Dollars a Night for a room with a Fridge and then moving out of the first room and into the very slightly larger room (with a fridge) Which had even more hairs on the bed and floor than the first room. -1 Star for Awful Internet which turned Off several times a day. Needing you to ask the lobby to reset it and if you were lucky and got a member of staff that would do it, you might have crawlingly slow internet for a few hours. However, the second time I went down to the lobby to ask if they could fix the dead internet the Seemingly uninterested Gentleman just mumbled no other guest has complained yet? -1 Star for being Woken up at 7.30 after a long day and little sleep to Music being played Loudly outside my room. Was it a guest? No, it was the Hotel piping Music into the corridors, there was a Speaker just above my door and they thought it was appropriate we all wake up to their Radio Station. I was later told by the Manager that all Hotels had Music Piped into the Corridors. I told him that in the 1000's I have staid in this was the first. I explained that Hotels have Music in the Lobby and Elevators, not outside the bedrooms, It was lost on him. -1 Star for the Dirty Thread bare towels which were rolled up on our bed when we came back from a hot walk. At this point I asked for the person in charge but was told he was Busy, I had asked about the manager in the morning with the noisy music and was told he rarely came into the hotel. So I decided I would sit in the Lobby for as long as it took, they kept trying to palm me off and I kept saying I would not leave until I met this evasive Manager after an Hour or so the staff did seem to make some calls and the Manager turned up. Now I have to be fair there are some nice staff here at and the Manager was no exception but no one there seemed to want to take charge. I was told by Mr Choy, the Manager, a number of things which eased my Mind, I was also paraded my thread bare towels and asked where were the Marks? Which were less visible in the Lobby light, so I was made to feel that I was making a Mountain, luckily I had photographed the towels in our room and they are clearly not clean and they were hard and worn out also. -1 Star for being constantly reminded by Mr Choy that this was "a Budget Hotel" not something that was reflected in their price, I was paying more for this tiny room with almost no facilities. I had just arrived in Ipoh from renting a very nice 1 bedroom, modern, serviced apartment in Kuala Lumpur, just 10 minutes walk to the Twin Towers and that place was less a night, with it's separate Bedroom, Plush Bathroom and fitted Kitchen than this slightly grimy room overlooking a Rat infested back alley in the town of Ipoh, so I was a little annoyed to have every shortcoming explained away by the fact they were a "Budget Hotel" 1 sachet off coffee provided to me over 7 days, which turned out to be so awful, I didn't worry that they didn't refresh the coffee over any of the days -1 Star for some of the worst Hotel Staff since Faulty Towers, not all but a few that just didn't give a damn. Some of the staff were great. Jessy is possibly the best thing about the Hotel, not that she could help much but she had a good Disposition The Location was OK, which is all I really require from a Hotel other than cleanliness, internet and staff that care. Little else is redeeming about this Hotel, it seems a Cash Cow for a Greedy Owner that clearly has no interest in putting a Manager in house that can do anything or even give a damn to the customers that line his greedy little pockets.
