Edm Space Hostel

Budget. Budget. Read again, BUDGET. Yet I gave 5 stars, for a very simple reason. I paid RM43 per night for 4 nights thru Airbnb, and I got a room that I can sleep in, rest, clean up and walk to almost any type of food that Ipoh is famous for. However, I would only recommend if you are young enough to sleep on a simple mattress and not wake up with a backache. That’s how simple the room setup is. If you’re a backpacker that is able to live minimally, this is the perfect place for you! They are not a hotel. They may not have top-of-the-line facilities, but they have a very very friendly family, from the lady boss to all her kids. In fact, this is the second time I am staying with them and I only see myself enjoying more compared to my previous stay. Very well mannered, very accommodating, very friendly, always up for casual chat. I see a mother trying hard to provide for a family which is why I felt that it is unfair to see so many negative reviews vs positive reviews when nice people are trying their best to pull through a hard time with customers demanding services and facilities that are, as I would put, proportionate to the payment I made. So if you are a bunch of nice polite young people, feel free to contact them for accommodation arrangements, as I’m sure that if we play nice from the start and communicate effectively, it will be a nice experience. At least this is what I went through, and I am happy with it!

Nice hosts, the two girls are really sweet. I really liked this accommodation and my 2 year old daughter had fun playing with the toys and with the girls. We enjoyed our stay here! We went to Edm Space three times while we visited Malaysia.

Home away from home. Best part of the stay is to be hosted by super cute little Danielle.

I do think it offer a pretty decent place to stay considering the price range. But I do hope the private room they offer can do some sound reduction from the other rooms. During my stay, the guy who slept at the room beside mine snores a little too loud. Xd.

Personally, I find the venue the best value for money. Not only are the owners hospitable and friendly, the place also gives off a homely vibe. I enjoyed myself alot at this place with the things that they provided (i. E. Board games, the option of buying items that are necessary for the guests). I also like the cats that reside with them. The only minor issue I have is with the Wi-fi; I think they can provide a better and more stable Wi-Fi connection to their guests. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone who wishes to look for accomodation that has one of (if not) the best value for money. P. S. I also appreciate a wall dedicated where all hotel guests are welcomed to write personal messages.

Canceled my reservation of a single room after spending an hour getting there. Offered a hammock instead. It's very out of the way and not close to the bus station, just get a place closer, same price, much better quality and reliable. said they were out of the building and then magically had an excuse of a walk in, after I booked, while they were not there.

Really good host. Genuinely nice people.

Cheap but very uncomfortable basically a beanbag for a mattress in an office space. Noisy, hot and Wi-Fi never worked.

Very nice staff. Good budget location in ipoh.

Conducive location and located in the middle of town. Walking distance to local attractions. Good air conditioning, has hot showers inside and cold outside, although toilets are shared. Wi-Fi is quite weak, but data connection is strong. Overall a nice environment for budget seekers.

Nice services the number of our members are keep changing but thanks for being patient and dealing with us. We appreciate that It is hard to find a room to fit all of us (19ppls) but luckily there is a room for us. Thanks for the board game too, we love it very much hehe. Cheap but can't sleep soundproofing poor tenant speaks in the middle of the night loud early in the morning shower speech can't sleep.

Super poor service, in fact room was booked but being cancel because others had make payment. So why allow booking, shit kind of homestay.

Can't sleep well and the air conditioner not functioning well.

Not exactly a place built to be hotel, as rooms are manga cafe style with open on top and partition instead of walls. But it's clean and staff which is a Chinese family are nice.

EDM DOES NOT STAND FOR ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC! It's just a coincidence ;P With that said, EDM space was one of the most hospitable hostels I have stayed at. They helped me with everything I wanted to know about Ipoh, and made my stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. In fact, originally I had booked a bed in the common's lounge (the cheapest option), but they let me stay in one of the vacant rooms because I had an early bus. That was extremely nice, something that they did not need to do, but did out of kindness for my travel plans. The only downside is that there is one hot shower, but there are many showers outdoors, which can be a great experience during a hot day. With that said, the decor is awesome, and the owners are great. Enjoy your stay at EDM space!

Best place we went to in our trip! The facility is more than enough and we had lots of fun.

Amazing place with amazing people! Amazing host that is considerate and care about each and every of their guests! And also sgrategic location that is near to most of the popular spot in ipoh. Edm space, a space like home away from home. Highly recomended for those who would love to learn new friends and get different experience while travelling to ipoh.

I came to Ipoh as a short stop over in my rush to conquer Cameron Highlands. Today I found myself wanting to stay in Ipoh longer and it was all thanks to the EDM Space family! Meeting Marcus, Esther and their 3 little angels (Danielle, Danelia and Desiree) is one of the best thing that has happened on this trip. From learning how to throw darts and snow beer to the lunch and playing connect 4 with the kids. I will never forget how they welcomed me and showed me their city. …I did not plan to explore Ipoh yet today I found it difficult to leave. As Marcus would say:
True friends never say goodbye. They simply say "See you soon"

This place is awesome! I have a very satisfying and wonderful stay in this space! What a special experience I have sleeping on a bean bag and its so comfy! The host and staff are very helpful and friendly! The place is clean, neat and tidy, I feel like im at home! Best of all, its Walking distance to most of the attractions. Highly recommended place to stay in Ipoh! *You Rocks, EDM Space.

It is a great place that is totally suitable for backpackers, a big group of friends, family and even the elderly. I went with my family and friend including teenagers and the elderly. The host is very friendly and nice and provided us some travel information on the attractions and local food They also provide us a room that is specially for the elderly. And the place is very comfortable, clean and tidy and it is absolutely worth for price! Will definitely recommend for friends who are going to Ipoh trip EDM SPACE.
