Red Inn Cabana Hostel

A male filipino house keeping and the receptionist filipino lady were arrogant and bossy. Iam local but treated as they provide welfare shelter. The rep lady's pic.

Very strategic place. Beside chocolate and coffee museum, big food court and near from 24hours convinience store.

I can't find a hotel in the entrance. There is no sign outside, the entrance to the Red Garden Food Center next door, the most left side of the car park, do not ask people can not find, inside the hotel is very new and clean, smoking, to take off your shoes, at night there are Red Garden Food Center for free to sing to you.

My first trip in 2015 was great. Nice and clean room. But my trip on 18 Oct 2017, quite frustrating. Air condition was poor, then changed room. At night, I found bugs. Please do something to rectify it.

To be fair with, the place was a good location, staff are pretty helpful and was cheap. I guess it was just my lucky day, A Chinese Malaysian dorm mate tried to steal my money, tried to bribe me when I said I'll report him, then later when I did, he started to threaten saying if I don't leave he is going to call his "friends" I was just on a Visa Run, so the last thing I wanted was a delay or trouble, I paid for another night plus deposit, didn't bother getting that back, hope they can report these people bringing down their image, was really unfortunate, I did love Penang for what it's worth.

This place does not provide adequate Wi-Fi! It's quite an embarrassing in 2017 that you can't provide a connection to your guests. The place is quite busy, they are making enough money to be able to afford a decent internet provider. Otherwise it's a good value for the price, though poorly maintained.

Overall not that bad, just that not all the room is well maintenance. Some bathroom is bad some is look new. Picture from booking website only show the nice room, which mean you can get a room that look old.

Friendly staff Ok rooms, nothing special, but clean. The pictures on Agoda are very misleading. Wifi is really bad and the breakfast isn't even the name breakfast worthy. The bar nearby has live bands playing, I wouldn't mind hearing it in the room if they were good. but as a music lover it was at moments a punishment for my ears. It was ok to stay for once, but not more than that.

Nice place to stay, cheap, cozy place, but the Wi-Fi is so weak.

The only reason I stayed here is because the other hostel I was staying at (Roommates) was booked for the weekend, and I wanted a single room as I was sick. The room I received was amazing thanks to a free upgrade. It was a large double bed with a TV and private bathroom. It also had air conditioner working all day. Everything worked well. There was also a water dispenser. The only problem was that the Wi-Fi was not working on the day I arrived, and regardless of it working, the signal does not reach the rooms, so you have to be in the courtyard to use the Wi-Fi. The receptionist was really nice, even though it was very busy. Overall, I had a nice experience. I definitely got a hotel vibe, as opposed to the backpacker vibe, which was a nice change as I was sick. So, a nice place to stay if you need a non-dorm room without Wi-Fi with a hotel feel.

Don't believe the pictures on the net! When we arrived we loved the reception and thought all would be great. So we went along with paying double the online price as we had seen the online pictures as well as the pictures hanging outside. Once inside the room was no better than any low cost backpackers room just 3 times the price. There was no water in the shower and we had to wait till 7 pm. When people walk around outside or in their room you feel it all the way in your room. Very noisy outside as the windows don't close. Not worth your money and the pictures online are just false advertisement. Don't ever book there until you have personally seen the room. Unless you're ok with paying 3 times what it is actually worth.
