Finess Basic Hotel

Nice hotel at the good location, room is clean and neat, price is reasonable, so far everything is good.

Didn't get a photo of the room. Arrived at 2am. Wanted to upgrade to a bigger room but the staff was fixated on following rules and did not allow me to pay extra for a larger room since I was traveling with a friend. The hot water was alright, toilet kept flooding and the body towels felt more like a bathroom rug/mat. Bed was uncomfortable and the noise in the morning was horrible from the traffic. The night receptionist was unpleasant and did not seem like they wanted to be working. No lift — if you have walking difficulties it's not the place for you. Far walk from the main food and night market spots. Would have gone elsewhere if not for 24 hours check in, should have just stayed one night, not two!

The message centre is just above the hotel at 3rd floor, same boss with the hotel.
Services no good, massage people not professional, make me not comfortable most of the time. I bought 90 mins massage package, but the massage session start late and finish earlier, I guess is only about 75 mins. I will not come back again to this massage center. Bad experience!

I like the room. However they provide new towels that I assumed not washed before hand. Wiping them on my body cause all the “fur” of the towel sticking to me and end up sticking to my clothes. 🥲
Massage service was not fantastic too, took a 90 minutes but only did less than 80. Underwhelming.
I may stay again because the room is still pretty nice, hope they improve though.

I stayed here about 2 months ago, and for the price it is pretty decent.

What's good:
1. Very affordable, low price point (less than RM100) for a room with queen sized bed.
2. Location is pretty good, maybe about 5 — 10 mins to city centre.
3. Clean overall and the toilet is pretty nice.

What can be improved:
1. The bed is hard — for me.
2. Soundproofing.
— in the room you can hear the outside noise from vehicles that pass by the hotel area (this is quite common for "shoplot hotels" I believe)
— walking the hallway to your room, you can hear noises from other room, but when you are in your own room somehow its not so bad.

Why 4 stars for the review?
I believe it should be reviewed with respect to the price, I would not judge it using the lens of a 5-star hotel. For a 2-star hotel (as per time of this review), its pretty good. And if you don't mind the sound and the bed, this is actually highly recommended.

Room is small, not even a space to place luggage and bas soundproofing. There's a small desk inside room, but without chair, need to get from receptionist. Matress is a bit hard, but the toilet design is nice.
Room number is place on the floor instead of wall or door.

Checked in to the double bed room. Car parks a plenty just outside the hotel… no worries about that. Security wise not very sure but receptionist mentioned they do keep an eye and parking is free.
Let down… no lift. Will b a problem if too many luggage.
Room numbers on the floor. Uses card to scan in.
First impression is very small. Really has only basic amenities. No fridge, no coffee or tea, no drinking water. Lucky there is hot cold water dispenser just outside the room. Room felt like it could have a little more light. TV channels just national program. Air conditioning was fill blast and really cold. Toilet was ok.
Overall place is clean but really small. For the price you pay, not much complain.
