They sold off the rooms we booked and paid for months in advance, to accommodate white people just because they offered higher tips?
Lack on integrity on management's side, will never book here again. Apparently this occurs frequently?

Enjoyed every second at Sunbird Waterfront. Elegant rooms and quality services.

My team and I stayed about 4 nights at the hotel. Livingstonia is a disappointment, old and mouldy and hence we had to be transferred to WaterFront. The most prevalent issue was NO INTERNET. At any one point, zero Wi-Fi. We had to depend on our local Malawi team to hotspot us. Upon inquiry and complaint, the staff merely just nodded and said they are working on it and nothing happened. Throughout our stay we didn’t have internet in our rooms. Imagine not being able to communicate with your family back home for 5 days!. Lake Malawi is beautiful and the views were gorgeous but honestly work on your Wi-Fi systems or just tell guests ahead of time to bring their own Mi-Fis.

Very plush hotel that has a great location on the beach. Staff were all very pleasant and courteous. Only a few minor downsides — 1. Whilst the food was a reasonable quality, service was often very slow if ordering from the a la carte menu. 2. Whilst the hotel has complimentary Wi-Fi, it's not particularly the fastest and it often dips when you leave your hotel room to go to the pool/restaurant etc.

Did it camping style this time, slept soooo well. Woke up to meet the biggest monkeys I have ever seen yet.
The ambience is great but the beach is not the best.
Enjoyed some cold highly priced drinks 😅 and some complimentary tea and coffee set up on arrival.

This is one of the best hostels on the shores of lake Malawi. The serenity of the place is awesome. The cool breeze that blows from lake Malawi is so refreshing. Their customer service is superb, and the security guards are so helpful in guiding the visitors where to find help. ❤️🇿🇲🇲🇼

I'd give this no stars if I could. We arrived and were told we didn't have a reservation so we spoke to Catherine and we booked the available rooms. Monicah shows us around and I asked if it was sea view, not having ever been to Salima before. I was told very rudely to see for myself when a simple yes would've sufficed. She is extremely rude, inefficient and looks as if she's been forced to be at the front desk! The rooms are not stocked with water, in the heat and the long journey you'd think they'd have something for their guests to enjoy but Moses arrived and refused to give me more than one bottle of water even though my cousin isn't feeling well and has food poisoning which I explained to him. It's a shame because sunbird kuchawe had exceptional service and they couldn't do enough for you! I wouldn't stay here had I not had my elderly mother with me but it's too late to leave at night. Bad start to a very much anticipated holiday.

It is a new hotel still developing and very promising. It has very beautiful beaches with clean sand and is well cared for. It is very close to Livingstonia beach. Currently, the restaurant is not yet opened but their hotel rooms offer the best lake view on the balconies. The hotel has four storeys and it's very beautiful from both sides. If you are looking for a peaceful hotel overseeing beautiful blue Waters of Malawi, think of nothing else but Waterfront as its name tells it all. There are also water sports facilities within reach at affordable prices. The hotel is sandwished between the camp site and Livingstonia beach. This gives you diversity as to which side you want to extend your fun and adventures. The water is safe for swimming save for some currents as you go deeper into the lake. As such swimming should be taken with caution. The good news is that the place is safe from crocodiles.

It's just like Sunbird Livingstonia reborn. The establishment has very nice rooms with balconies offering amazing views of the lake.
On a busy day the parking does not seem adequate.
At the time of my visit, their restaurant hadn't been set up yet so the food has to come from Sunbird Livingstonia. The food is not hotel standard. The presentation is just bad. Fingers crossed for when they get their own restaurant.
The staff are very friendly — some of the nicest I've met.
