Great place to stay, great people!
When I read some reviews I am sure they were at the wrong location. Tranquilo is by far the best accommodation I have had in Malawi. Clean Rooms, warm water, aircon, amazing view, friendly staff. We will never go to another place again when visiting Malawi. Special thanks to Inno for the best service in Africa. Just a note for visitors, that was quite upsetting. I know we are all on hioliday when we visit there, but please, the people working there is no slaves. Please treat them with the same respect as they treat you.
The hotel and rooms at Cape Maclean look NOTHING like the website. Rooms are shabby with poor facilities. The 2 bedroom apartment was dark and dirty. Even the upgrade was poor — also dirty, a wardrobe with no hangers etc. The pool area is also run down and the covers on the sun loungers are filthy. It is on the shore and has nice swimming. Breakfast was good but dinner poor, especially for a vegetarian. The Wi-Fi didn’t work although the manager did allow us to tether to him. But of course he was t around all the time. It needs a complete refurb.

This place is in serious need of some help. The pictures on Google were taking many years ago. It looks like to me the last time it was deep cleaned or general maintenance done was the day before the grand opening. The lake is a better option for swimming then the pool. We stayed here because it had air conditioning but all the units turned off at 12 am and came back on around 7 am. There is not a restaurant onsight when we were leaving a gentleman came out to get our orders for breakfast but we didn't have time to wait on that.
It looks like when this place was new it would've been a great spot they have big rooms with plenty of beds. But they need to upgrade and clean before it gets back to being great again!
