Great views — amazing garden —

Absolutely loved Kumbali, so glad we finally went to visit after many recommendations! The venue is stunning with beautiful gardens and it looks like the accommodations are super too (just visited for the restaurant). The food is great and literally the whole team is amazing. Definitely the best service we’ve experienced so far in Malawi, and that means a lot in the Warm Heart with its friendly and welcoming people. Can’t wait to go back!

Undeniably the best staff I have ever encountered. Tanya, Roanda & Bernadette. As well as all of the incredible help I apologize in did not get everyone's names. I was celebrating my wedding, I stayed at Kumbali Country Lodge for 7 days!
I was frantically looking for a place to accommodate me and my guests while planning my wedding. Everything about Kumbali screamed perfect. My most difficult task was booking a place that was warm, welcoming and accommodating. My guests were all traveling from the USA and have never been to my home country Malawi. After reaching out to multiple venues, spaces and hotels. I contacted Tanya. We built an incredible relationship. She understood that I was not going to see the space before my wedding and everything needed to be perfect. She is patient, friendly and meticulous. Just what I needed to pull off the wedding of my dreams! To the last moment before I walked down the aisle Tanya stood with me coaching me, feeding me and just being there for me. All the managment went above and beyond to ensure our comfortablity. I consider each person family. We all cried at departure. This is the exact feeling I wanted go experience. The best time of my life despite any wedding hiccups!
Bernadette prepared special vegan options for my guests. She also fixed my botched wedding cake. She was the light of the lodge. She really enjoys her job. Her passion for happiness is why we all enjoyed ourselves.

We have spent a couple of days at both Lodges and have met Guy and Maureen and their lovely staff! Awesome people, lovely accomodation, beautiful food… Nothing to add… Country Lodge as a perfect location after long flights and for a last night before leaving the country! Lake Retreat is a little place in paradise… sandy feet, quiet place, beautiful sunsets! … We will come back, Tobi & Alex.

It's a cosy place immerse in an Africa environment without being impressive but just respecting the African land.

Got engaged at Kumbali and it was such a beautiful experience! The staff was incredibly attentive and kind — definitely a once in a lifetime trip!

It's quiet, far from town, and probably one of the best places to go relax while in Lilongwe.

A beautiful place from the inside out! Impeccable service, beautiful rooms and fabulous food! There's lively entertainment available, a relaxing pool and a stocked bar. What else could one need?! I had a lovely stay and hope to go back.

Kumbali is a great place to stay. Rooms were clean / well appointed and the building and gardens magnificent 4.5 stars. Owner and staff were very friendly. Food needs to improve though as the menu is unimaginative and poorly presented. It would be good to be able to buy a souvenir too.
