We had a really lovely stay at Belo Beach in Belo sur Mer, Madagascar. The resort is beautiful, with a quiet, private beach that feels like paradise. The rooms are spacious, stylish, and very comfortable — a perfect place to relax and unwind.
The showers are indoors, you need to use naturally with bottles of water warmed by the sun, which gives it a very authentic and eco-friendly touch. Electricity is powered by solar panels: during the day there’s usually only one plug available, but they can provide extra plugs if needed, and between 4:30 and 6:30 pm there are more outlets working on solar power. With a simple extension lead, you can manage perfectly fine. The Wi-Fi also works well, which is a real plus in such a remote location.
The staff are welcoming and friendly, and the manager in particular goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The only area where there’s room for improvement is the restaurant: while the food is good, the portions are quite small compared to the price, so more generosity would really elevate the dining experience. Communication can also be a little challenging as not everyone speaks much English, but overall the kindness of the team makes up for it.
All in all, Belo Beach is a beautiful and peaceful eco-resort with stunning scenery and a unique atmosphere. Despite a couple of minor points, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
Wonderfull place in the bush. Clean toilets. Waitresses not prepared to do the job. I am the only guest and they are four around the bar. Nobody comes to my table and when I ask for the menu I receive card with alcoholic drinks. Ok finally order a salad de mer. Not bad but low on fruits de mer. All a bit higher priced then elsewhere but ok not easy for the owners to supply in this isolated place in Madagascar. Even had expresso with cups but with the second one they used the same cup!
It is not su much to blame the workers the problem is that the manager does not instruct well the workers. These are ‘bush’ people and you have to train them properly.

We stayed at the Belo Beach Hotel in Belo sur Mer for two nights. It is an absolutely beautiful hotel at the ocean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The Food was delicious. Thank you to the Belo Beach staff for the wonderful time.
