A beautiful place with a clean beach and spotless bungalows. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. You really don’t need anything more – it’s just perfect!

If you have a choice to bypass Shangri La I would. It was definitely one of the worse hotels we stayed at during our 3 week trip.
From arrival, the staff were all super disorganised. People who arrived after us were given their rooms first. Our order for lunch was taken before we were even given a room and then took over an hour to be prepared with no drinks offered.
Room was in desperate need of a refurbishment. The toilet didn't flush, we had to pour bottles of water down it to get it to work, there was a constant smell of sewage in the room and the bathroom was not kept well. The bedroom was very basic and very tired.
Even the sunbeds on the beach are falling to bits. Handmade from wood, they haven't been maintained at all.
A full overhaul is needed.
The only saving grace is that the beach in front of the hotel is lovely. It's really wide with pure white sand.
I strongly recommend to avoid this place if you can and miss out this section of the West Coast.

The scenery is amazing, the beach is totally magical, and the hotel has nice bungalows on the beach. The rooms are quite big and clean. We even had hot water most of the time, not self-evident in this area of Madagascar. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The food was a bit average, but totally ok. Would absolutely recommend this place and hope to come back some day.
