Great hotel in a central location. Delicious breakfast and very helpful staff. Room was clean and fully equipped. We had a lovely stay.
The restaurant even provided gluten free bread for me at breakfast.

Lovely room. Very clean and spacious. Check in swift and staff very friendly. Breakfast was good, well I can't complain about it. Mainly continental. Excellent location.

Very nice hotel though a bit old. Lovely bathroom with bathtub and even robes provided. I had the corner room on first floor overlooking the monument of remembrance. Just a dream view. Lotion would be good as part of the toiletries provided.

The rooms have great classic character, regal high ceilings, and the large windows provide good air flow through the room. We were there during the heat wave in August, and having the windows open really made a great difference. The staff is wonderful. The friendly housekeepers respected your space and always had a helpful attitude. The dining staff tried to cater to your needs, and even remembered what we preferred to drink after we'd been there a few days. The front desk was always patient, kind and super helpful, even when there were last minute changes. Bettim especially went out of his way to always be cheerful and find solutions or recommendations for us! The breakfast is 25 euro if you just walk into the dining room. However, it's very easy to have breakfast included in your room price or even ask for it when you arrive, and costs less that way… so that shouldn't be a problem. The breakfast was fully stocked with a wide diversity, tasted very good and saved us lots of money versus going out for breakfast (and the dining room was old-school classic and well-appointed). We stayed here last year, and enjoyed being in the heart of the old district with breathtaking views. The good service, bright rooms and convenience of location had us excited to come back this year! Thank you for another great stay — we can't wait to return! (the second photo is the view from our room)

Charming hotel with character in excellent location, would definitely recommend. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Nice touches with bath robes provided and apples in the room on arrival.

Nice hotel. Large rooms. Great for those who want vintage style decor. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff. In the middle of all the action. No fault of the hotel, I just wish the open concert across the street in the Constitution Square would finish sooner.

For the price of the room, I expected it to be larger and to have a comfortable amount of space to move around. We did have a large bathroom space so it seems that’s where the area was allocated to for our specific room. Overall the hotel was nice and had an excellent location. There is a very convenient parking garage on the street behind the main entrance that was easy to find. Back to the price of the stay, it was quite expensive for breakfast — €15 for tea/coffee with breads and jams or €25 for the full buffet. The buffet was good but the prices were steep, in my opinion. Although the breakfast dining room was very elegant and had nice service! I’ll probably try another hotel if I’m back in Luxembourg.

Missing basic amenities like AC, the AC units are in every room but have been “broken” for months. Locals say that the hotel turns off the air conditioning units when it is super hot to save electricity cost. Whether they are truly broken for months, or they just won’t turn them on… unacceptable. Both nights rest was horrible To the owner: the way you are going you will get your wish and not have customers in the future if this is how you speak to them. You seem to forget who the customer and who the supplier of services are. You do have AC units in every room and your night staff told me that they had been off for two months and that their management was too cheap to fix them or turn them on. When your staff is saying those things, how would you expect pleased customers. Also you are listed on BCD travel as having AC so this is something you should fix as to not mislead your customers and have your employees have to give consistent excuses for your short comings. I do hope people read this review as to not be fooled into staying at your hotel like I was.

We wanted somewhere central to Luxenberg, and booked this place on lastminute-com, as we were away for a bank holiday weekend from the UK. Check — in was good although concierge was doing it which seemed a bit strange I thought. The room was nice, and in a quiet part of the hotel. Although a little dated re decor, bathroom was very good, the bed was quite uncomfortable. The service downstairs was excellent especially the barman as he put on the champions league football final for me on this Saturday night and then thereafter for our pre-drinks, excellent service.
Overall a good stay, good service, just a shame about the bed and the dated decor of the room. But we would stay again as it’s to central location.

Honestly not great except for the location. EDIT: Your response that this is a vintage, traditional hotel is fair. But I found that my colleague had a much nicer room than I did. My room was very small and cramped and the bed was uncomfortable and the quality of his room was much higher even though it was same room type.

Decent Hotel, helpful staff, great rooms, but seems to have stayed 20 years ago too old, not comfortable.

Very centrally located Hotel with friendly Staff.
Our Double Room was quite spacious. Bath with two Sinks, Shower and Bathtub and perperater Toilet.
Many Attractions in the immediate Vicinity.
Recommended for a City break.

Good hotel in central Luxembourg, ancge if a little "old"

The room had no air conditioning and no window for the outside.
It's a shame it's not renewed because it has very good location.

This hotel is amazing. It has two elevators. The room we were in was medium, with a desk, fridge, glasses and ice-box, safe, … The bed was good and you could rest. In the bathroom had bath tub with its corresponding bathroom elements and had hot, hot water for the Frioleros.
The location is great and the hotel is very good. Great deal and experience.

Very cosy place in the midle of the city. Good breakfast and good service. It has a nice view from the room. Much possibilyties at the TV's in the rooms. There are in the neighbourhood much restuarants and the hotel has got one to. Its a central, busy (not to much) and the hotel has got a moderate price class. So I give it 5 stars.

Amazingly well situated in the centre of town, great selection for the buffet breakfast, and staff are attentive and friendly. Rooms are clean, stylish and very comfortable beds. We loved our stay here and would gladly recommend it.

We visited the bar. Cozy place, good cappuccinos and friendly staff. Decoration is very nice and even if the place looks posh, you feel very welcome.

So under a "grand hotel" I really understand something else. Need renovation and actually no charm, except the rear part of the lobby. Location is very central, staff and breakfast OK.

Great location, an appearance of once being a grand hotel but rooms are all dated now, like from the 80s. Did look like they were changing carpets, so perhaps updates are in the works.

Rooms were old, we couldn't sleep because it was so hot. No air con. When we opened the windows for fresh air it was too bright and very loud.

It's really hard to finden a hotel in Luxembourg that is any good at all. Most of them are overprized. You might want to give The Cravat a chance. It's right in the city center, the rooms are OK. Breakfast is really great and comes with classical music. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

It is a secret and exclusive place, it must be discovered and rediscovered urgently!

This hotel may awe you one time and bitterly disappoint another. This is what I don't like. It's a lottery: if you get a nice big room with a view, bingo. If not, you could find yourself in a hole. And both bookings feature just a double room. The location of the hotel is very good though.

The organization it is really bad, we checked in and for the same room price they gave us different room (super bad one) compared with our friends. Even though we complained they didn't (at least) apologize.

A small budget room overlooking the street, soundproofing to review… Otherwise very pro service and breakfast to small care.

It is a traditional Hotel with an old decoration but very typical for this place, in the direct proximity of the city center of Luxembourg We spend a very good time at the bar or restaurant the staff is very helpful and nice I would come back it is sure especially Special evenings when the singer Emmy Denice sings, very pleasant thank you.

A little old-fashioned but with a little charm. We managed to get a great can so we don't regret it!

The hotel was run by a really lovely group of staff. Exceptional cocktails — the most inspired we have ever drunk. When asked to create a surprise cocktail the barman stepped up to the plate and produced a masterpiece. Plenty of choice at breakfast, all lovely. The room was perfectly functional for a short weekend trip to Luxembourg. The old style of the hotel is part of its charm — still owned and run by the family is rare these days. Every member of staff was incredibly attentive, friendly and helpful — including the maid who greeted us with a smile and good morning each day, and left us fresh apples to come back to at night. Thank you for an enjoyable stay, would recommend your hotel to anybody.

Clean hotel something to according to beds good room ok but something old fashioned breakfast ok from the 4 stars I but give only 2.5-3 stars.

Oldish room. In fact I call it Agatha Christie room — green checkered bedspreads and an old time clock on the table. The bathroom, however, has been newly done — so it's pretty fantastic with bath tub and all. What makes it a must stay is of course the location. It's bang in the center of everything happening in Luxembourg. The hotel also boasts of the oldest lift in the city. There is no free Wi-Fi but you get the password if you have a drink at the bar — not a bad deal considering the fact that the restaurant is very good. There is also a computer at the lobby which you can use anytime you wish. I'd definitely stay there again.

This was once a fantastic hotel. Today it is a nice reminder of days long gone. The hotel is tired and outdated. However, the staff are very nice and the location is the best in town. I'd only stay here again if the deal was fantastic. However, I was happy to give it a try and again, the staff were really wonderful. I wish they would support the staff by reinvesting some money in the rooms and decor.

We eat (often) in the brasserie on the ground floor. The menu covers a large variety of appetites. The filet de sole Lafayette is sublime. The waiter prepares the sauce au poivre for steak by your table; it's spectacular. There is a small selection of fruit pies and cakes amongst the deserts which is very tempting. The espresso could be better.
