Hotel Meyer

Beautiful old world building. Clean. Nice sized rooms. Priced reasonable for Lux. Mattress was uncomfortable. Restaurant needs help. Food was not really bad but nothing good. Location nice but somewhat isolated. We will stay somewhere else next visit.

Decent appartments, a bit outdated, but clean, spacious and sufficient. There is Wi-Fi, but it's not the most stable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner are too expensive for what you get but the quality is alright. There are a supermarket and bakery at walking distance. Great location within the region, all activities and hikes we wanted to do were within a 30 minute drive, most of them only 10 minutes away.

Very pleasant stay at the hotel with classic Victorian style decor leaving you feeling pampered a bit. Helpful and polite hotel staff. Didn’t understand why they kept the sign “no picnic” everywhere in the dining area? Made me feel as if they think every guest steals food? Very clean and located next to lots of good trails around the region. Mullerthal trails are also close by. Only one thing I wish they would be clear about it the charging facility they “claim” they have. Which clearly is private and not open to public vehicles, because same company’s charger 200 m away worked with my same card. I went there with the feeling of security that I can arrive with a low SoC and to be honest I was worried where to charge my car. I wish I could have charged overnight there but I stead I had to sit in a cold bench near that public charger for 1.5 hrs to get my battery to a descent level for next days adventures. Something to factor in if you are traveling there with your EV.

Great hotel, at the right spot for those who want to explore the small town and close from bus stop that directly takes you to mullerthal trail and echternach town.

Nearly perfect. The service is great, the food is great, the location is great, the facilities are great.
We particularly liked:
— Location: Close to supermarket, close to hiking trail.
— Pool: Took advantage of it every day.
— Service: The staff was all courteous and helpful.
— Garden: Just a beautiful hotel.
What took down one star:
— The rooms have no air conditioning. We knew that coming in (and we don't have A/C at home either), but we were there during particularly hot days and that had an impact on our ability to sleep.
— The pillows are pretty terrible. Old and out of shape. Combined with the hot room at night, made for tough sleeping conditions.
A hotel's primary function is sleeping, so even though I really enjoyed everything else and wish I could give it 5 stars, giving a perfect score to a hotel where I had trouble sleeping would be dishonest.
Get better pillows and install A/C and you'll be a no-brainer 5 star hotel.

We returned to Hotel Meyer for a delightful weekend and were impressed by its Grand Hotel charm. The modernized facilities beautifully balance historic allure with contemporary comfort. The staff were friendly, the property was spotlessly clean, the gardens well-maintained, and the pool impeccable.

This is an average hotel, suitable for a short stay. The place is clean and the breakfast is good. BUT! And its a big BUT, the place is dog friendly, but you cant leave your dog alone in the room meanwhile there is no designated spot in the breakfast/dining area to eat with then. The place was almost empty during our stay and we need ro eat separately. Second this is, that breakfast is from 7.30, if you wake up earlier they refuse to give you a coffee or tea only if you pay for it, which is also a big scam. Our room was lack of hot water, and they told us there is nothing they can do, shower quickly. Last but not least the beds are from the late 90's and they are very bad and ubconfortable.

From Monday through Saturday Hotel Meyer offers in their "brasserie" a delicious, value for money "menu du jour/lunch special", 2 dishes for 16.50 Euro or 3 dishes for 19.50 Euro.
Servings are huge, we took main dish and dessert.
In our case "Bouchée/vol-au-vent aux poissons avec sauce au vin blanc", crispy pastry filled with fish and a creamy white wine sauce mmmhhh. Dessert was "glace vanille avec ananas et crème fouettée"/vanilla ice cream with fresh pineapple and whipped cream.
Correct prices for the drinks.
Very friendly and efficient service by the owners and their staff.
Plenty of free parking.
Close to the outstanding "Müllerthal Trail", great for hiking and enjoying nature.

Nice, spacious and well equipped apartment.
Didn't try out the restaurant, it didn't seem attractive for vegetarians.
The hiking trails in the surroundings are marvellous!

Nice family hotel with very friendly staff. It’s clearly been done up in the last few years: very modern and clean everywhere. The swimming pool is very good.
We had a suite (very large but weirdly empty) and Demi-pension so ate in the restaurant both nights. It’s good but nothing very special. Breakfast is huge though with plenty of choice.
While the hotel staff are very friendly I got served the wrong wine, and they forgot a bottle of water, and the whole place feels a little soulless, which is sad for a family-run hotel in a pretty town.

The breakfast was great. As well as the range of menu available for dinner. All food items were delicious and fresh. The garden area is very peaceful and scenic; it is ideal for relaxing after a long day of exploration, with a glass of your favourtie drink and a book in your hand. You can borrow a nice bike from the hotel without any additional cost and roam around nearby places. All staff members were very helpful and respectful.

Excellent Sunday Lunch set menu in the gastronomic restaurant. (53.50 Euros)
