5 stories in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

What recreation and leisure facilities are available on the premises of 5 stories?

The holiday home grounds are very well-maintained and picturesque. A variety of activities are available for children, including several playgrounds, a large trampoline, and a sand volleyball court. Guests also appreciate the availability of firewood for bonfires, swings, and direct access to a clean lake equipped with sun loungers and boats. The overall atmosphere is described as peaceful and ideal for a family getaway.

How comfortable is the accommodation in the cottages, and what is the condition of the furniture?

Guest reviews are mixed. Some describe the cottages as cozy, clean, and warm, featuring thoughtful details and large windows with scenic views. However, there are complaints regarding wear and tear: guests in the first cottage noted a heavily sagging mattress, worn sheets, a lack of mattress protectors, and stained carpets. Issues with doors (squeaking and closing improperly) and a lack of soundproofing were also reported.

How well-equipped are the kitchen and bathrooms?

The kitchens are fully equipped with all essentials, including cookware, glassware, a dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a TV. However, some cottages lack an exhaust hood above the stove. The primary drawback is the bathroom ratio: for groups of 10–14 guests, there may be only one bathroom, which can cause inconvenience. Guests have also noted that the water heater has a limited capacity, requiring wait times between showers.

Are spa facilities available on-site, and what are the rates?

A sauna and a hot tub are available on-site for an additional fee. Some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of these amenities, noting that the sauna door does not close properly and the shower curtain tends to fall, suggesting that maintenance is needed given the premium price.

How polite is the staff, and how efficiently are issues resolved?

The hosts are described as warm and pleasant individuals. Nonetheless, there have been instances of less hospitable service, such as reluctance to provide extra towels. Guests also reported a lack of prompt response to insect issues: in one case, mosquito pest control was not carried out, while in another cottage, guests arrived to find a large number of flies.

Are there any issues with lighting, ventilation, or insects in the cottages?

In cottage No. 1, being situated under dense tree canopies results in limited natural light, making the interior feel dark and damp, which tends to attract mosquitoes. In another cottage, guests encountered numerous flies even after fly traps were set up. Additionally, a musty odor was noted in the shower areas of certain accommodations.

4/10

This was our second visit to the property.
The grounds are beautifully maintained, with direct access to the lake and a range of great amenities for children, including multiple playgrounds, a large trampoline, and a sand volleyball court. We stayed in House 1, which is located towards the back of the site under a canopy of trees. While peaceful, this location receives very little natural light and unfortunately felt quite dark and damp, which seemed to encourage mosquitoes.
During our previous stay, this wasn’t an issue as the site we had been told had been treated. However, this time it appeared that no spraying had been done, nor were there any visible mosquito deterrents provided. As a result, we made the difficult decision to shorten our stay from four nights to two.
We had just come from a neighbouring lakeside property where mosquitoes hadn’t been a problem, so the contrast was noticeable. Additionally, we found the bed sheets quite worn, and were surprised to find there were no mattress protectors in place.
Unfortunately, this stay fell short of expectations, and while the site has some positives, the experience overall was disappointing on this occasion.

10/10

We stayed for 2 nights at 5 Stories and booked 3 Stories. — it was enough space for our group of 10. The kitchen had all essentials, and there was a TV, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, and even a BBQ grill. The place is cozy and great for a group stay.
However, there was only 1 bathroom, which was a bit hectic for 10 people. The water heater was also small, so we had to wait between showers. Hot tub and sauna were available but at extra cost.
The best part is the location — absolutely beautiful! The lake nearby has clear water and we took some amazing photos. Great place overall if you don’t mind sharing a bathroom.
