Mountain View Hotel - Lesotho

Oh my goodness. We came here to have lunch with family during the festive season traveling from Johannesburg. Where do I even begin. The list of stuff we had to endure. There was some kind of event outside going on and it was loud. Then we were told this and that item that were on the menu is no longer available. Then the biggest bombshell ever was dropped on us. The waitress informed us we need to know there will be a two hour wait for our order. I do appreciate the honestly at least, when the food finally came, it wasn't all at the same time so we can at least enjoy our meal together as a family no, my dish and my toddlers dish arrived first for some obscure reason, while we all watched our food getting cold. In the end we waited one hour 45 minutes for everyone's food to be there, which granted is slightly better than two hours at least. The restaurant has a huge compliment of staff working as waitresses, so you would think service should be good, no, instead, we had to battle to track down our every single time we wanted to get something. Then when it came to settling the bill, I was quite surprised to find very competitive pricing not that much different from pricing in Johannesburg, that for a lackluster offering really not worth the money. I suspect the main issue at hand here might be a lack of training stemming from the kitchen and waiting staff. Management — I hope you will train your staff better and take it to heart, then we might revisit one day.

While the staff is friendly and forthcoming this place is to be avoided if possible. Rooms are worn down, stained carpets, mold on ceilings of room, restaurant is also to be avoided competely. Better buy something in ShopRite next door. For 900 Rand you expect a little bit more.

Best place in town for a nice place to sit, eat, drink, and chat.
The pizza is what shines, but the chicken is also very good!
