Cheap hotel, furniture as from antiquity, able to "throw on the trash and not sorry", the location is very convenient, the time to the city center 15 minutes on the tram, breakfast pleasantly surprised, was though not very abundant, but still not "sharply continental" that typical of European hotels of cheap level)

The rooms don't get cleaned, breakfast is disgusting, the tables are dirty, for breakfast one sort of cheap sausage, one sort of cheese, no salads, at best a plate of carelessly chopped cucumbers. There may not be bread, only toaster. The egg got rotten, no salt. There's only one bus nearby, it's rare. There are no shops or cafes. Actually, wild horror. The beds are uncomfortable, like cots. The laundry didn't change the towels for a week. Shame on Riga. There are plenty of decent places in Riga at this price.

Worst hotel I ever been, mould everyvere in bathroom, old beds with bad and unconfortable mattresses, room was painted last time in age of Napoleon… I DO NOT RECOMEND.

One of the cheapest places this close to the city center. You get what you pay for, though — beds are rather comfortable but terribly creaky, floors feel very thin (so that your walking can be heard from below), breakfasts are not more then "ok" — a couple of sausages, some bread with cheese, tee and coffee. So, a lot for the negative side, but after all for its price this place is very nice.

Bad soundproofing of rooms, cloth curtains, frugal Breakfast.

If only to spend the night, and so without much comfort.

Just disgusting! So dirty we didn't dare to stay and checked out as soon as we found a room in the hotel next door. All the furniture, walls, floor, bathroom-everything is dirty! Attach photos If you have already unfortunately booked this hotel, in 10-15 minutes there is the hotel Tia (which we have escaped). It has three stars, but the difference between this hotel and Tia is just gigantic, and the price is not much more expensive. It is clean and cozy, good breakfast the only plus of the hotel Skanste-returned 85% of the paid on the last photo-the entrance door with a gap in the hallway.

Very good for the price. Morning breakfast is included. TV and shower. The staff are nice and the place is quiet. Close to public transportation.

Greatest distance from official photo to reality. Rooms needs repaint, bathroom looks unclean, shower hose is leaking to all sides, power switch has one of two buttons, curtain is half size of a window, beds are squizy as hell, some rooms have intence smell of medicine. Great staff, much space.

Best price, simple breakfast, quiet accommodation, friendly staff, uncomplicated.

Good place for short stop and over night, nothing else…

Cheap hotel it's only plus. Dust in room everywhere on tv, shelf in bathroom… Uneatable breakfast. Recomend as cheap for max 1 night…

Normal hotel, acceptable for ice-hockey fans.

For the price I paid it is OK, but I wouldn't pay more. Fridge, TV, own bathroom, buffet breakfast and working Wi-Fi in room. Next to Riga Arena.

We left the hotel after one night. The room smelled like a dead rat in the closet. At breakfast we had blackish eggs (fortunately we brought our own bread and cheese).

Free internet? There's no Wi-Fi at this hotel.

Having stayed in the Hotel Skanste, Riga, from 5th February 2010 to 8th February 2010, I regret to have nothing but negative words for my stay in this hotel. The booking confirmed we would get “Comfortable settings, room amenities include refrigerator, TV and internet access. Internet access is complimentary for our guests" Comfortable settings — the room was uncomfortably cold, even with the radiator on full, bedding was dirty, having hairs and blood on the sheets. From this both I and my partner have rashes on our arms and backs where we had been sleeping. On the first and second day there was no hot water. Refrigerator, TV and internet access — Refrigerator was fine no problems, TV could receive nothing but 4 German speaking channels, so was useless to me and when asked if I could use the internet I was told it was not working. The breakfast lacked any variety; cereal, bread, sausage and eggs. Both the second and third day there wasn't any cereal and no butter for the bread, as "the delivery hadn't arrived" for those days. This left my vegetarian partner with no choice but to eat just egg for those days, which meant we ate breakfast elsewhere, extra money we didn’t expect to have to spend, nor should we have had to. It was extremely rare to find a member of staff to voice my disapproval to and when I did it seemed apparent they did not care and merely brushed the issues aside.
