Vientiane Ruby Riverside Hotel

Unsure about this place. A few people we met had problems with payment being more than it should be. Their conversion rate is higher than everywhere else in Laos, which was odd. Recommend booking through hostelworld as it does the conversion for you on the app so we were fine.
We booked a 6 person dorm but ended up in a 14 person dorm as the beds were not going to be ready till 4pm, which was 3 hours after check-in starts. Beds were comfortable though. Breakfast included was okay but recommend going early as the spread was mostly cold by 9am.
Was a bit of a disappointing stay but can’t complain for the money. Location was really good for everything. Was fine for our 1 night.

This is so unacceptable, we book the Deluxe queue room for $144 and we got the stander triple room (with the same price) and when we ask about that they say the room that we got is deluxe triple room. So we told them to show us what’s the Standard triple room look like and tell them to show us but they have nothing to show. They don’t know how to handle the guest and even the goddamn manager told us to pay more if we want to get the room that we book in the first place. Funny thing was they don’t need booking ID, we show our booking ID and show the room that we booked they say in their system we book for deluxe triple room (their system can’t even put the booking ID) (even though the room that they give us show standard triple rooms in the online) also We’re so tired and really want to rest but the room smells really bad. Please Don’t come here. It’s a nightmare.

The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always welcoming with a smile. The location is convenient, close to many attractions and good restaurants. Breakfast was diverse and of great quality.

Stayed here two times. First time ok. Not cheap and not expensive.
Second time was a nightmare. Told me price was 20 dollar a night, paid in kip. Had to pay 600 000 Kip for private room. 28 dollar a night. Paid 3 nights. Room was simple, bathroom in bad condition. Got a fan as I requested.
Second day I had running water for 5 minutes in 24 hour. I tried to ask for help but they promised to fix it, didn’t happen. Promised refund. I had to argue to get back 100 000 Kip and cancel my last night. 700 000 Kip back out of 1 800 000 Kip.
Full of Indians and Nigerians that were loud and rude from morning until 01:00 am.
Towel from Nana Backpackers. That doesn’t give you a good feeling when you know what happened last year. Google it.
Breakfast wasn’t too much to talk about.
I’ll never come back here again.

I booked that hotel because I wanted to extend my stay at my previous hotel but they were full. I paid more in this hotel but the room is very small, noisy. The walls are so thin that when other room opened the door, it felt like they were opening my room door. I don’t know if it is because of Friday, the restaurant at the corner was playing music so loud and saxophone till 11:00pm. Furthermore, their mattress was so hard and the surface is uneven that you will feel like laying on the turtle’s back. Additionally, the pillows are very thin. I like thin pillows but with the curved mattress, I couldn’t fall asleep and felt back pain while laying head and legs lower and the middle of the body is higher. As I had early flight in the next day, I had to get up at 5am but I couldn’t get rest there. I will definitely not come back to stay in this hotel if I will need to come Vientiane again.

Great location. That is all. I didn't expect much for the price and didn't get it. Dirty rooms, broken facilities. The towels were good and came from Nana backpackers in VV (think methanol) as this is the owner. Service is poor. The breakfast was disgusting so don't bother. There are far nicer places in this price range.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. I also enjoyed the breakfast, which had a good variety of delicious options. The location was very convenient, close to shops and restaurants.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and I can buy the ticket from hotel Vientiane to vungvieng, thanks for helping.

Had a fantastic stay here solely because of the service. Front desk staffs were very helpful and hospitable. One of the staff, Peter, went above and beyond with helping us with getting acquainted with everything locally. Thank you Peter for making the stay even more memorable.
The rooms were alright, you get what you pay for. Location was convenient as well, many shops nearby within walking distance.

The breakfast is abysmal and depressing, definitely wouldn’t pay extra for it if it wasn’t “included” in our booking price. And then the cleaning staff left the slider (which is accessible) not only unlocked but partially opened while we were out for the day!
Great location inside the city center though…

The location is quite good; you can walk to the night market in just 3 minutes. I didn’t swim, so I can’t evaluate the swimming pool, but it looks fairly decent. The room is nice, but we found used toilet paper in the bathroom drawers. Personally, I would give the bathroom a rating of 1/10, as it seems they didn’t clean it properly.

I had a great time at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was also very clean. The food was delicious, and everyone made me feel welcome. I really enjoyed my stay and would love to come back again.

Double private room is quite small and it stays quite damp. There’s just a window to the corridor for natural light and outside air (your choice if you want to keep the curtains open to let light in, at the cost of everyone being able to look in.
On the second night I saw a big (7cm or so) cockroach in my room.
Nice smallish swimming pool but no furniture to lie down (sitting chairs only).
Slightly different breakfast buffet with fruit each day, it was decent.

I stayed at Ruby Riverside Hotel and really liked it. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was tasty, and the hotel had a nice garden and pool. I felt happy and relaxed during my stay. I would love to come back again.

I had an incredible stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and at home. The atmosphere is perfect for both relaxing and socializing.
The pool is a fantastic bonus—clean, well-maintained, and the perfect spot to cool off after a day of exploring. The bar has a great selection of drinks at reasonable prices, and the vibe is always lively without being too overwhelming. The food exceeded my expectations—delicious, fresh, and with plenty of options to suit different tastes.
The rooms and common areas were spotless, and the beds were super comfortable. Whether you’re a solo traveler or with friends, this place is ideal. I’ll definitely be back!

We were actually really surprised by this place, nice quiet room, the AC was fantastic, probably the best we have had in the last 3 months travelling, comfy bed, hot shower (although the bathroom stank of sewage! )
Great facilities: swimming pool, pool table.
Chilled relaxed atmosphere.
Food was great and cheap: fried rice, noodles and spring rolls.
Customer service was excellent, we ordered a taxi to the airport late at night due to plans changing and staff were very accommodating and friendly.
Safe Scooter parking just outside, tours available. Highly recommend.
