A&L Hotel

The beds are comfortable and rooms are very clean but don't expect the service to be great you wait anything from 1 hour to a hour and a half for your food and ontop of that, one specific waiter insisted on a tip that we would have given him but because he insisted so aggressively we did not give him anything and then he started giving my colleague weird nicknames.

Awesome Hotel with very good catering services. I wonder why many people have not yet noticed the hotel in machakos.

Very airy. Ambience is exceptional. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff are courteous and friendly nimprovement is required on food.

The hotel is located just on the road side hence easily to find.
The have a clean pool.
It's not overcrowded.

The place is good, however the swimming pool is open and people arriving at reception or dining have to watch while you swim, I feel like the swimming pool should have a barrier that affords some privacy while on minimum attire.

It is wow! I love the place.
I will visit again.

A nice serene place, the food is awesome, the staff a bit laid back but quite friendly if you engage them. The rooms are fair. There is no signage along the way. Keep your maps up.

So this hotel seems like it's hanging in there. The facilities are good but then the food was very mediocre, internet was also slow. Was there for conference and definitely not going back. One good thing I'd say is the swimming pool, it's very clean but deepest end is only 1.3M.
The hotel has great potential but seems the owners have let it go.

It was a good stop over. The swimming pool is massive and by the pool music selection was a plus.

On Monday we called the place at around 7pm to enquire about swimming at night and they said it was okay upon reaching the place at around 10 they refused to allow us to go swimming saying it was on chlorine that we can't swim yet some of my friends were from Nairobi others Mombasa they had come to just swim then after that they go back to their places so like they were just stranded … CLINTON!

For the machakos area it's probably the best hotel.
The service was subpar.
The staff just looked at us for a good 10 minutes before they asked if we needed any assistance or give us a menu.
I had a coffee and cake.
Most of the items on the menu are not present.
The staff also didn't seem to know about the details of the accommodation or even bother to direct us to who would be best to guide us.

We stayed at A and L for 4 days, paying $100 pet night for 2 rooms as the hotel could not allow my family to stay together. My experience with this hotel was beyond awful; we didn't have clean sheets, hotel water was off for 1 full day and the workers did not show they cared, Wi-Fi was off every night, mosquitoes were on rage every night. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Went there to have some lunch with my family. My son asked for fish fingers from what was written on the menu, daughter asked for fresh juice and I asked for a mimosa all of which they didn’t have. They explained that in order to make the mimosa, they would need to open the sparkling wine and that wouldn’t be profitable for them. We left!

It's a lovely place, but it feels unfinished.
The management should consider placing appropriate signage on the road because there is none.
The staff are courteous and responsive.
The food was okay.
The conference facilities are plenty and good.

Had some breakfast/lunch at the hotel with my pal. Good food, lovely staff and awesome ambience. There is lots of parking for those driving. The pool area has many sitting areas and the layout is great. The pool is clean and you'll definitely enjoy a dip in it.

The food was good, would definitely recommend the lamb chops. But the waiting time was too long, over 45 minutes and trying to get somebody to serve us drinks during this time was a task in itself. The food portions and quality are good however, I don't think it's enough to justify the prices.
