All the staff were amazing at this hotel, from the waiters and waitresses, chefs, customer service, laundry, house keeping, security! They made the whole experience a great one! The food was also incredibly good, I had to diet as soon as I arrived home as “I’m on holiday” excuse didn’t work anymore! :)

I had the privilege of staying for 3 nights at the sarova whitesands beach resort & spa on 11-14 Aug 20. From the time of check in to check out the experience was seamless. The staff are very friendly and I got a room upgrade to the best room have ever had in a while. The staff are very friendly while at the restaurant the food is the best. Fresh and well cooked. I would like to thank the staff and management for their exceptional hospitality. While in Mombasa always book here.? Highly recommend.

First and for most the hospitality is on point the environment itself is so calm and welcoming. When you are there you feel so relaxed and the music and evening karioke nights are just awsme.
Personally I would give it 100/100 best experience I had there and will come back there again after the covid ends.

Wonderful experience with lots of great people. Kids also had a fantastic time with kids club led by Cherry and Sabrina were able to entertain the kids while we had our own alone time. Best holiday spot in mombasa.

It's a good place and the services very nice. I must mention Gladys, she's the one who was keeping our room. She's humble and knows her work very well. She's also hospitable. My daughter got sick and she used to ask every day how she was fairing and even giving us alternative ways to help. We are happy and will come back. Blessings.

Am writing this review right from the hotel. In my room 2069. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in in East Africa. Everything is awesome… the rooms are neat. The staff are caring… Their foods and drinks are incredibly amazing. I wish I could stay here longer!

Loved the weekend at the Sarova. Whitesands. It was decently full with guests on the specific dates, which was nice. It took an impressive short time to check in, rooms were ready and staff on hand to assist. The food was tasty with good choices for vegans as well as those who love their meat. Breakfast options were also good, except that they didn't have much vegetable choice in the morning except ratatouille. The ocean is right next door. There is Coco Beach bar offering entertainment each night and they set up a big screen for the World Cup soccer games. Got a bit chilly because of the wind but was lovely. We got good value for the price charged.

What an amazing place. I stayed at Bamburi resort just down the beach but had some friends stay here. I came up every day for the amazing buffet which is very well priced and also for a couple of spa treatments. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and love to chat. My friends paid for the all inclusive and they said it was definitely worth it!

Team not too keen to keep the customers happy. Phones are not easily answered and it takes a while to get your issues sorted. Food is good… not great. Meat section is wanting in terms of variety!

Very beautiful beach resort. Off season, the service is pretty fast. The food is amazingly good. Loved the 1 minutes games at cocos bar. Pretty near to the supermarkets n eat outs. 5 minutes drive away to the haller park. All in all its a good experience.

The best hotel in Mombasa. Beautiful view and delicious good with fresh air. Area is so gigantic that you never feel depressed inside. Never worry about mosquito nets. They provide you before you ask. No mosquitos by the way.

Was hoping it would be private but unfortunately was very hard to take a quiet/enjoy your stroll with all the vendors trying to sell you something. Beautiful resort, but would have been fabulous if they had a private beach. The beach they have tends to be crowded with small local shops. Rooms are decent and pretty modern. All rooms are air-conditioned. The service and staff attitude to also good. The resort has multiple pools and also a in pool bar. It has 3 restaurants and the breakfast served is of really good quality and huge variety.

Overall a very good stay with all of the staff being friendly and helpful. The one downside was the Pavilions Restaurant where it felt more like a canteen than a five star hotel, the staff did not appear to be organised into sections and getting served with tea and coffee was very slow. We ate in the Lido Restaurant each night and had great food and great service and would recommend it.

Really great place. I had the time of my life. Full moon clear night… An amazing calm ocean for a fantastic morning swim. I cannot remember the last time I swam in such calm ocean waters. The pools open at 8am and I needed an early swim. Great clean beach for evening and early morning walk. The restaurant had an exquisite array of delicious meals. The fruits were fresh and very sweet, for the sweet toothed it'll make you very happy. The meats and the vegetarian section is great too. The sea front rooms are wonderful. The newly renovated rooms are amazingly cool too. It's a great destination for business meetings and also for individual get aways or for couples. The conference rooms are booked early so if you're planning for a business meeting do so early. The ambience is beautiful. Really cool under the palm and coconut trees. I'll definitely be going back soon.

The swimming pools (and they are many! ) are good and big with one of them having a huge shallow end that children will have a lot of fun playing in. On the down side in general, the staff while being professional they lack a friendly attitude.

I stayed here for a few days in January. It's a great hotel. It attracts a diverse group of travelers but mostly families. The staff are helpful. The security is around 24/7. The facilities are nice and food is delicious. A note about the beach. The section where the resort is located is on a narrow stretch of public beach. It's not the sort of place you can just sit out an relax. Someone will try to sell you something. Do not walk it alone.

We were staying nearby and decided to pop in for a swim. It was a bit pricey they charge 1000 for kids and 1500 for adults. The swimming pool is good and big with a huge shallow end that our daughters had a lot of fun playing in. It also has a nice slide which the girls enjoyed immensely. The service was good by the pool and it's beach us not crowded at all.

Disgusting room, the room provided to us by was dirty, old, smelt and was worn. Problems like, mould and leak as we exit room, bad mould smell in room, dirty cracked corners, no toilet holders, filthy yellow bath that was broken and dirty, bits of the toilet cistern missing and finally beds are old and falling apart. We complained about the room and nothing was done and we were lied to my the reception staff that we move you tomorrow. Please just bear with us 1 night the hotel is full. Next day, still no moved no communication nothing just ignored us. It was only until we escalated with the holiday company and rep that they decided to finally move us to a wonderful room. Unfortunately it was the last day and we had a early flight. Just because the hotel is full, does not give you the right to treat a paying customer that way and put them in a filthy and disgusting room. The reception staff and one of the porters also should have been honest and if unable to cope moved us to another hotel. Instead they lied and hoped the problem will go away. It was only dealt with when escalated. The hotel does have wonderful rooms and when escalated, the issue was dealt with it a very professional manner and we were satisfied with the outcome. The staff and grounds, food, location is all wonderful and would say the best hotel in the whole of Mombasa, but if you are unfortunate to get a old and dirty room, then your dream holiday could turn into a nightmare.

With several pools and several bars, it's an excellent choice for a short stay in Mombasa for both business travelers and tourists.

An exquisite resort with breath taking sites. Great reception, comfortable rooms either facing a swimming pool or the Indian ocean. I enjoyed the live band on Friday as I took dinner. Conference halls are cool and well serviced. I loved the place!.

Exquisite place that is well thought out. The food is very well done and rooms are comfortable. Believe if the management would increase the staff when the place is fully booked it could avoid the delays we experience d especially at the reception. All in all I liked the place very much.

Great hotel. I am giving it a one because the last time I was here they say photos and videos are not allowed. This however seems to be based on the mood of the guard rather than policy. I have taken photos the previous times when I was there.

Great hotel with wonderful ambience. The work done on refurbishment (2015 — 2017) has great details and practical features. The pools are well maintained and the staff have endured there's tons more to do for guests. The beach is clean and most rooms have very nice views. If you want to be lazy, then there are many daybeds scattered all over the hotel with great ambience and a bar in close proximity Good food as usual from the buffet. Moreso the grand variety ensures you've got something to fill your tummy. Close enough proximity from Nyali town centre and Mombasa city centre as well to try other foods and activities as well.

Everything about this place is amazing. Even with the small rooms I promise you will not feel suffocated! Meals cover everyone; vegans will love it. Spa services are just too unbelievable. I should stop before I start sounding like a paid marketter. You have to see to believe.

Fun and ok stay, wasnt truly a five star experience, they need to change a lot more, service was not up to par, rooms advertised fridge, actually had to ask for it… had to wait two hours just to checkin. Waiters and staff to busy taking selfies, and we actually had to get up to ask for service. Place is good… but needs a lot of improvement.

The resort has many pools depending on your preference. The menu has a wide variety to choose from the staff are very friendly the rooms are amazing. They have a loyalty program for kids in there ozone on the first Sunday of every month.

The view is fantastic. The hotel is beautifully charming. The music at night is great to dance with friend. Great security guidelines.

Enjoy to the max! You gonna wish you had a bigger bank account. Bring your own booze! And watch out for boys at the beach offering interesting bedroom services if your non african.

A very nice course. Everything is very clean and well kept. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful holiday here. The evening's entertainment is varied. Everything is super. You can only recommend it.

Very unpleasant experience. Rude front staff. Insulting and dismissive when trying to discuss simple requests. Shockingly they believed that because I don't speak Swahili it gave them the freedom to snicker, sneer, eye-roll and laugh amongst themselves with immunity as they "dealt with" our request for a simple late checkout. Given the run around repeatedly, ignored and mocked. Our room number brought up calls across the counter to other employees and laughter when we checked out. We were never rude or abrasive, but I suppose asking for customer service was too much for them. Even the waiters were programmed to never smile or interact with us beyond asking if we wanted coffee or tea. Please understand, I never complain. I could picture abrasive argumentative guests being treated this way, but we simply politely asked for a late checkout and it triggered this unbelievable cascade. Constantly hassled by aggressive sales people for typical tourist trinkets on their hotel beach and even on the hotel grounds. No peace and quiet, no service, we chose to leave early. Believe me, stay elsewhere.

The obvious and ultimate choice if you are visiting Mombasa … I like it's location. It's easy to go to Malindi and the city is not far away and their service is top notch. If you have a kid you can leave them there and attend to your errands. This is an experience I have had!

I was at the Sarova Whitesands from 23rd July till 26th July 2014. I must say, my stay there was amazing. I slept in room number 2093. The hospitality is amazing and the service is top notch. The food is very exquisite set in a beautiful, serene environment. The beach is a stone throw away, while one may also enjoy the swimming pool. The conference facilities are excellent and the rooms are comfy with a touch of class. I would most definitely visit Sarova White sands again.

I was there after 1 week of safari. Had a great time, good food and service. The live music gives the ambience a good touch. I was also at a party on the beach, had a great time and met some nice people. The Hotel has many swimming pools. The beach is beautiful and if you have the chance, you should go snorkeling. Scuba diving is not necessary, cause the depth is really not that much because of the reef. I would definitely recommend it! Enjoy it.
