Wanderlust hostel Riverside

The mixed dorm is next to the kitchen and reception which is extremely noisy. There are many many beds in the shared dorm with barely any space to put your stuff and no curtains, you have to make your own bed. There are a couple of sofas in the reception but besides that just a couple of wood chairs to sit dow.

Dormitory rooms in the basement didn't have a privacy curtain. The bed mattress was comfortable though. Toilets and shower rooms were quite clean. Kitchen is also available and the common area is quite small. They have a lovely cat here. Location is the best!

Good value for money. Could use a privacy curtain. Floors are clean, bed is comfortable. Toilet is decent. Some of the guests seem to be staying long term, and one guy in the picture was stealing money from the tip jar. Watch out since he’s staying in the dorm and looks like long term, he could be stealing from other guests too, this has been raised to the hostel.

Girl at reception was rude. I came 45 minutes before check in, she said I can check if I pay 50% extra. I said it is only 45 minutes… shebsaid the room is not ready which was a lie because I went and checked it.
On the second night they had given my bed to someone else even though my belongings were still on and around the bed. The downgraded me to a noisier, stuffier, messier room without apology let alone compensation. I barely slept because of all the noise…
Worst hostel experience in Central asia without a doubt.

Very clean and comfortable hostel with a great location. The staff is helpful and friendly. The outside seating area is perfect for relaxing and chilling. Definitely worth the money!

The hostel is in a very convenient location, almost everything is a short walk away. The rooms were clean, the common area was cozy and had a few board games as well. There's a very cute cat that keeps running around.
The staff are very nice, helpful and speak good English. Great value for money. Would recommend.

We stayed at this charming hostel, which offers both dormitory and private rooms. We opted for a private room, and it was a great choice. The shared bathrooms were always clean and fresh. The hostel is located in a spacious villa, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. You might even get some furry companions joining you during your stay! We truly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it to all travelers. It's conveniently located near shops, pubs, and restaurants.

One of the best hostel ive ever staying in central Asia. The room are nice and clean, also the bathroom quite spacious. I recommend for the sharing / bunk bed because super comfy and worth the price. I was staying there for a few days combine sharing room and private room, but for private room to be honest quite expensive with no ammenities and just sharing bathroom.
*You can drop your luggage if you plan go to other country all around central asia.

I stayed in this hostel during summer time. There was no air conditioning or fan in the dorms. Even if the windows are open, I kept waking up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. There were no privacy curtains on the bunks. There were CHILDREN, yes you read that right, CHILDREN in the mixed dorm. It looks like those kids were between 5-10 years old. There were SIX CHILDREN in the mixed dorm I stayed at. The reception, sitting room, kitchen and dining hall were cramped into a small space (and it’s all next to the mixed dorm). I didn’t get proper sleep during my stay in this hostel. The Wi-Fi was patchy. The staff weren’t very helpful either. I didn’t expect to experience all of this after reading all the good reviews on Booking.
The only good thing about this hostel is its location.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to friends or fellow travellers.

Verry good place. Clean bathrooms, kitchen and common area. The verry friendly girl at the reception speaks good English. She let me put my tent in the garden to camp. 3000 T for 1 person tent + bicycle.

Great location! 💯👍 Most attractions are within walking distance. The guys are very friendly. There are common rooms and private ones. Good kitchen, has everything you need. Wi-Fi, towels, good bed linen, books 📚 👍 We stayed for 3 days and were very pleased, there is an excellent restaurant nearby (towards the mountains, within walking distance). In general — warm, clean, there is a shower and a BATHROOM. Prosperity for business 🫶

Great place for backpackers coming to Almaty. Staffs were awesome and any information you need, be it about the destinations you need to check out or about grocery shopping, they are there at just one Bell's ring away. Would love to stay more and more there on my further visits.

Worst experience. The location is fine. Mixed dorm is good but male dorm was in the basement and cold. They didn’t have good heating system, in December.
The staff were very rude. You cannot talk to fellow travelers after 10 pm. The owner/manager would come and yell at you and command you to go to sleep or else he will call the police. But if you are local, you can do anything and talk as loud as possible.

Very good hostel in almaty, they have separate rooms and dormitory’s. Kitchen is also very well maintained with all necessary things like oven, kettle electric stove, utensils, spoons, bowls and fridge, rooms and other places are clean. Only issue is they have shared bathroom for private rooms also you have to share one bathroom between two private rooms. People at reception’s are also helpful but some people’s are always telling you to keep quiet even if you are talking in normal tone. Sometimes it feels like we are in school even though after you are on your vacation. May be since its hostel they have this rule not make noise. Anyways this is good hostel for your short stay with kitchen and all amenities.

Good hostel which was clean, felt safe and was comfortable. Friendly staff and good location. Bathrooms were good and hardly ever had to wait. Solid hostel. Only comment is the kitchen is small so only really 1 person can cook comfortably at any time.
