Hostel64

I really love this hostel in Almaty. The receptionists are nice. English isn't popular among them so be a little patient in communicating with them.
Pros:
*Close to bus stops going to Almaty Bus Station.
*Close to an affordable coffee shop Del Cappuccino, a convenience store, Burger King, Starbucks, MRT, and Turkish resto.
*The beds are comfy and the room is warm esp during winter season.
*There is a small dining area with amenities.
*Hot, cold showers and a well maintained toilet.
*Wifi is strong.
Cons:
*Beds are old but tolerable due to a comfortable foam and mattress.
*Less space when you have a lot and big luggages.
The cons did not really matter to me. Overall the hostel's rating is 5 star. I will come back and stay here again.

The hostel is pleasant, clean and very well located in the city center, close to all attractions, restaurants and shops. The lady at the reception was particularly welcoming, very kind, and available to answer my questions and help me.

I had a great stay at hostel 64. Clean rooms and facilities, great location in the heart of almaty and a lovely host who was welcoming and friendly. Hard to beat the price.

The location is good and convenient to get around, but other than that, it's worthless. The room is dirty and messy. The mattress hasn't been changed and is filthy. I don't know how long ago it was. It creaked when I lay down on it. The toilet and bathroom are not cleaned either. There's a lot of feces. The price is also expensive. It's not worth it. Don't stay here.

The hostel itself is amazing. No complaints at all. Very clean and comfy beds and space. But until two weeks or a month later (mid sep 2025 or oct 2025) I don’t recommend staying here as they juts painted all the bathrooms and smell of paint is in every room. It’s dangerous and can cause cancer.

I intended to Stay for 2 nights but end up staying for 4 nights. Met a lots of travellers here and we hang out in the kitchen every night, talking and sharing our travel journey. I alsao team up with some people here for trekking. I love everything here, especially the location is near and the price for hostel is cheap.

Very comfortable hostel in the heart of Almaty. The owner is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious with comfy beds. Good facilities: large lockers, good shower, kitchen and dining area, laundry service available. Only improvement would be individual bed lights and curtains. Thanks!

I really recommend staying in this place! The staff is very friendly and helpful, they don’t make any problems ;) The room was nice too — I stayed in a 4 people room but was mostly alone there. The location is great too, close to everything.
I only have one suggestion — please buy some mugs for the kitchen equipment. There are only very small glasses so if you want to drink bigger coffee or tea it’s not very easy.

Really loved this hostel. Lovely, helpful and friendly people work here, it has a really cosy vibe, with kitchen facilities too. Comfortable beds with curtains and we were able to leave our luggage for the day before leaving for our train late in the evening. Highly recommend staying here.

This hostel is at perfect location and the staff is very helpful. I loved and enjoyed my stay here. Will recommend it for everyone.

The location is prime, either coming from the airport or going to the train station and bus station.
It is close to the Main Street and all the major sightseeing spots.
The common space is being cleaned properly by the staff on a daily basis.
The washing machine is quick and working.
I wish they can give us the air conditioning control to turn it on when it is super hot and stuffy in early May evening, I found it struggle to sleep with stuffy air, even with the window wide open for a long time before the bedtime.

The hostel is located in the heart of the city center. The lady at the reception is very friendly and helpful although she does not speak English. She does use the translator and help others to the highest level.
The toilet facilities should have been better.

The hostel has a good budget price point, considering that Almaty can be relatively expensive as compared with other countries in Central Asia. The location was good — about 15 to 20 minutes walk from most tourist destinations. It has good connectivity to the CityBus network. It is close to many supermarkets and restaurants. It has a good kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. The staff are very kind, hardworking and are always ready to help.
There is no air-conditioning. The bunk beds do not have any reading / night lamps.

We booked 4 bedded Room. Service is average. And location is fantastic and a supermarket is just beside the hostel.
24*7 check in facility. Receptionist is awesome.
Cooking facility is also available.
The hostel is situated at Tole bi Street which is only 800 metres from Ascension Cathedral.
And many bus stops are few steps from hostel.
We are enjoying the stay at Hostel 64.

Nice, cosy little hostel with adorable personnel. Perfect location, perfect price.

I stayed for two nights and everything was great. Comfortable beds, clean sheets and pillow cover, bed curtains, spacious dorm, coat hanger and a table and chair provided inside with private lockers and a mirror. Also the hostel is spacious and has a common kitchen which one can use. Shower and toilets are very clean. The hostel staff is attentive of everything and the ladies at the reception are very nice and understanding. They let me keep my luggage after checkout in the dorm so that I can pick it later. And they also let my friend stay in the dorm until the end of the day after her check out in the morning. No complaints. Highly recommend!.
