Berkana Hotel

We had a great stay at Hotel Berkana. Location is very good, quiet place but walking distance to convenience stores, restaurants and other shops. The staff were amazing, very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The room is quite spacious too and beds are comfortable. I will surely comeback here.

A wonderful hotel — while it shows a bit of age, it remains spotless and full of charm. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Perfectly located in the heart of the city.

A little less closer to the city centre than other hotels but the peaceful vibe is very much appreciated. The superior room has a large, rectangular balcony.

No breakfast, but there is a fridge and a kettle. Decor and facilities are bit dated, but fine.

We like the location as it is walking distance to Gogol and Arbat street. The staffs at the reception are so nice and helpful. The staffs doesn’t speak much English but it is not a hindrance because they will still try to help you as much as they can. We arrived very late but our keys are already prepared and they even helped us carry our luggage as there was no elevator. The hotel gives you an old vibe to it but the stay is very comfortable for its price. There is fridge and hot shower as well. I like the cute balcony by the hallway, a good spot to have coffee but we didn’t get a chance as we only stayed for a night and a half. Very recommended and will def stay again when we come back to Almaty.

The hotel is very nice, there are some minor shortcomings, but they are not noticeable because the price is affordable. It is in a central location. If I go to Almaty again, I will stay at the same place.

A little old but good location.
At this price you can't complain.
If you are coming from the east, you will see it after passing CAFE GRANO and turning right.
There is a simple kitchen next to the front desk, and they let me use the microwave.

Great location, we paid 2170/ tenge for Yandex taxi to reach Arbat street during our 1st night and later on we discovered that it’s just very near so need for taxi. Perfect location! Room was decent.

Hotel in a good location with very helpful staff. Clean rooms and clean bathroom. I think it was an excellent choice to stay here.

Great location of the hotel, right in the city center. Large shops and parks are within walking distance. The hotel is very quiet. This is perfect for those who want to get some sleep before work. An excellent, quiet place for business trips. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I'm very pleased. I will stay again many times.

Rooms are clean and cleaned everyday. A bit of hot water problem takes too long to reach your bathrooms.
Also, they over charged us for a bottle of water. Crazy expensive! 😕

Mid-price hotel. But it is located right in the center of Almaty, on a small street with not much traffic. There is absolute silence at night and no noise during the day either. Very clean, cozy, polite staff, the furniture is not new but the bed and sofa are comfortable. A large two-room suite was priced as standard in other hotels in the center.
