Abay Hostel

We stay at Abay Hostel for 2 days in a triple room.
The host was helpful and kind. She stayed up late at 24:00 to greet us for check-in and wake uo early for doing check-out for us at 03:00.
The room is clean, spacious. The toilet is clean. The kitchen and front yard is spacious.
This hostel deserved every pennies you spent.

Pros:
Good location.
Near the metro, very accessible.
Near many food places.
Good place to interact with locals.
Free use of washing machine.
Cons:
The younger receptionist was rude most times.
One guy who is a long stayer is annoying and acts like he owns the kitchen sometimes.
The bed was hard.
No towels given.
Possibility of theft, always lock your lockers, my roommate lost money during my stay.
I would not recommend to travellers that are used to cozy hostels.

I felt lied to by their marketing saying "twin bed room features air conditioning… " when they actually meant the air cond was for common area only. We were given a fan and ultimately, our room had many windows so the air flow was good enough for the temperature.
However, I couldn't sleep because of bed bugs! The bites have actionned an allergic reaction and everything is extremely swollen and itchy.
Despite the no refund policy, we could shorten our stay and only paid for this nightmare of a night, with ongoing paranoia.
If you happen to have bed bugs, it's important to steam clean or wash your clothes at 60° to kill them and avoid spreading them. It's time consuming but necessary. Note that they are not dangerous just extremely annoying and very hard to eradicate.
On the positive side, the rooms and facilities are clean, there's a kitchenette and a laundry (500tt).
I still leave a one star review to bring their attention to the problem so it's taken seriously.

Accomodation is fine but some bed in dorm not provided lights and charging port. The environment is HOSTILE! I believe great hostel service includes friendly staffs and warm environment. However unfriendly staff refuses to provide ONE towel request. A long stayer picks a fight with other guests for doing normal things like opening door, switching lights on at appropriate hours and talking in low voice. It's a dorm, hostile behavior is unacceptable. Not suitable for international travellers.

Nice Hostel, very clean, comfortable beds and helpful staff (24h). You are allowed to use a big kitchen with every necessary cooking utensils. There is also a nice terrace and a private safe and inclusive parking area. The bathroom in the double room was a bit small but all in all everything was fine. Located in the city centre in a quit street, near to a supermarket. There are mosquito nets on the window, so you can sleep with open windows.

Although there may be some likes and dislikes, I am completely satisfied. The owner is very picky, so some people may not like it, but I am completely satisfied. Please accept my greeting. The accommodation is completely clean and you can comfortably go out even late in the evening. The location is good as there are many restaurants and Globus nearby.

The staff is really unfriendly. I used it for 3 days and there were traces of food on the blanket, so I asked them to wash it, but they said they would understand and wouldn't use the blanket.
They asked me to change it, so I held on and endured it. On the last day, I changed the duvet cover because it seemed like I wasn't going to use the bunk bed anyway, and they woke me up at 5:30 in the morning, threw the replaced duvet cover on the floor, kicked it, and got angry.
They didn't even provide towels every day. They gave it to me when I asked for it, so why am I asking for it again? I'm just annoyed. I had a really good trip and ended up like this.
Everything was ruined because of whether it was the hotel staff or the owner.
Absolutely not recommended.

Positive points: low price, renovated interior, rooms ok, air conditioning, decent cleanliness, free toothbrush, reception open 24/24, shared kitchen and free washing machine.
Negative points: beds are hard as concrete, broken lights in the room that flicker, no towels, only 2 showers for the whole hotel, people get impatient at the door, water everywhere in the bathrooms, the hotel is scary, not welcoming or warm.
It may help for one night but I advise avoiding this establishment if possible.

(Flickering) Light could not be switched off in our room during the night and the hotel did NOTHING to help us with that. Just said "sorry we need to wait for the electrician tomorrow morning" what a joke. Waisted one night of sleep As long as they have their money they don't care about the rest. Stay away from those scammers.

It can stay very nice. Convenient clean Friendly service.
