Review of Amman Cham Palace 4*

It was pretentious inside, not clean and poorly maintained. Looks tired. Room was not clean and had not been vacuumed around the room properly. We had a mini fridge in room that didn't work but was plugged in, the bath, toilet and shower was dirty. We had Wi-Fi as part of our package. Told management the fridge was not working. Said it was not included. Buffet breakfast was part of our cost. It was horrible. Food was stale. Told management. Next day food was still bad but the coffee was hot. They also served orange and lemon juices. These were powdered mix not fresh. Local food was ok, it was the pastries and breads that were hard and stale. Even the toast for the buffet breakfast. There was no omelette station in 3 days and the coffee and tea was not hot. The staff were friendly and did their best to try and resolve our problems. Rated as **** locally, but not by international standard. Would consider more like ***. Must make sure lobby areas and general access and entries to hotel are kept spotless, like it is well cared for. Liked the location. Was not value for money. Didn't even want to eat the breakfast in hotel but it was included in package. Husband didn't bother to eat there after second attempt. Cost 8JOD each day. No courtesy tea/coffee in rooms. Had to pay extra and room service charge plus taxes (4JOD). I put in complaint and spoke to management. I hope that they will make the changes because the hotel could be quite lovely and there is too much competition for them not to. Would not stay again.
