An old office building converted youth hostel, cheap and comfortable, beautiful decoration, whether a person or a group of people are very suitable to stay, counter service staff are very kind, push!

I was really disappointed with Hostal 64. The area is dull, you have to take the metro to get somewhere nice. We had two rooms, and even though one of the rooms was much better (i. E. Did not stink and the air conditioner functioned), the room me and my daughter stayed in was humid, hot, super stinky and really dirty. + disgusting (shared) toilet and lousy service. We were not offered a new room or a refund for the second night, but squeezed in to the first room all four. With mattresses on the floor. All in all a lousy experience.

I stayed here for 7 days in a dorm and had a really enjoyable time. The facilities and sleeping areas were really clean, staff were really friendly and capable of giving recommendations, location was within walking distance of the nightlife areas of Osaka, there was a 24 hour family mart around the corner, bike rental was convenient and super cheap (200¥ per day), headphones were provided for sleeping free of charge, my room was cleaned halfway, accommodation was well priced. Common area even included a Nintendo 64 with both Zeldas, Super Mario and Mario kart (2 controllers).

Hostel was a little small. Had to crouch down to get to the showers. Overall very clean and staff was friendly. There was also a nice bar and lounge area. Didn't feel as cozy as some other hostels I've been to in Japan.

Hostel 64 is more of a urban/minimalistic hotel than a hostel. I stayed here twice and rented one of their double private rooms both times. You get tatami mats and two futons in a modest room. Washrooms were clean and baths had more than adequate hot water. Location can be a bit tricky to find, located on a small street next to the main road but you can't miss the sign hanging from the front. This location is NOT handicap friendly, stairs are traversed to get to the main reception and rooms. All in all, I enjoyed both my visits. The staff really enjoy if you try to speak Japanese to them but English is also good. I would recommend this hostel anytime. * Please understand that this is a HOSTEL. Do not expect hotel level amenities or hotel level rooms. It is VERY close to a hotel but at nearly half the price a night. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions.

Great modern hostel. They have great tourist information and maps. Suited our needs for our stay in Osaka.

So far I have no complaint, the host is very kind, they helped us bring our luggage upstairs. I'll update more later.

Lovely hostel! Quiet, clean and quirky in a good location. Front desk staff were wonderful, super informative and friendly. Bonus: the breakfast was delicious and comes with orange juice (but coffee is extra).

We stayed in one of the Japanese style rooms, and the tatami mats + futons were very comfortable. The other facilities were pretty standard, nothing to complain about, nothing that really stood out (they have a lounge, breakfast area, laundry machine, rooftop hangout area). What was great was the provided information on good restaurants nearby and things to see and do in Osaka. Also, the location was good, too. Quiet, but walking distance to enough stuff!

Nice retro hostel but try and avoid stressing on the Ground Floor — no windows so although very clean feels like a basement.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. The floor is made of tatami and we slept on 'futtons' aka mattresses. The shared washrooms and showers are clean. They provide soap and shampoo. Their bike rental is super cheap! It's less than paying for transit. Their small breakfast is worth the price.

A very NICE place. Great and helpful staff, and the rooms are the best (if you like traditional Japanese style rooms) Can only recommend this place.

I stayed at the "deluxe" dorm. At least the beds was comfortable but the dorm itself doesn't have any windows and for using the bathroom you have to go one floor up and pass the lobby.

Stayed in a 2 futon room for 5 days; the rooms on our floor (the second) have tatami floors. Great, friendly English-speaking staff. Good amenities (laundry, lounge, drinks, umbellas, rooftop patio). And, as a bonus, a 200¥ massage chair and cheap, 200¥/day bike rentals. Also, the hostel is relatively close to Dotonbori and the other popular areas of Osaka. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay. Cozy style and comfortable environment, of I come back to Osaka, definitely I would like to choose them again.

Great little hostel, good location and staff are very friendly. Stayed in a private room, spacious and clean. The breakfast (costs 500 yen) is good, I recommend you also take a piece of fruit as its not that filling.

Very cozy and homely. Bathrooms are shared per floor but are always clean. Water is strong and heater is well maintained. Hostel managers are accommodating and always helpful. Note that there is no elevator so you'll have to carry your luggage on stairs.

Cool, Cozy, Comfortable, and Convenient! Had a great one-week-stay at Hostel 64 Osaka. Staff are very helpful and guests are very friendly. This place will definitely be your awesome choice.

Stay here every trip to Japan, either a private room or the dorm both are excellent. Staff are incredible. Handy to Osaka sights with stations nearby, even a nice walk to Nagahoribashi, Nipponbashi areas even as far as Nanba. Also Minamihorie area.

Clean, modern, laid back, stylish. The dorm room all has double beds! A little out the way but who cares, this place was really really good.

Really great just to recommend a very affordable hostel in Osaka.
