Had an a amazing time at Deer Park Inn in Nara. We were in Mountain Home Lodge and had a very comfortable, spacious room. We woke up to deer grazing in front our door, minutes away from Kasuga Taisha Shrine. The concierge was incredibly helpful.

Within the deer park, close to shops and restaurants. Older building, but kept clean and very comfortable. Shared bathrooms and common kitchen/lounge area, free Wi-Fi, and a small selection of food and drinks available to purchase on site. Aya at the front desk was amazing with tips and recommendations for the area. We will definitely be back!

Cozy Place and very friendly staff. Bath room and toilet very clean. Very relaxing place. Highly recommended!

Charming hostel with an incredible location. There are private rooms with view of park. Staff speaks English fluently. The common room with free tea and coffee and access to refrigerator is a plus. Strongly recommended.

A very cute and cozy house in a beautiful area of Nara park. There are some souvinere shops, cafes and restaurants near by. Lots of deer pass your door. The house is brand new, still smells like cedar wood, it was so clean when we arrived, big bed and shower. The people working were so helpful and accommodating. I can't wait to visit again! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore Nara park after all the crowds are gone!

Me and my friend arrived at the Deer Park Inn about 30 minutes after they said would be the latest we could check in. When we got there, we were just hoping that we could get a room, but we were greeted by an exceptionally nice man who informed us that another room had opened up that was cheaper (and arguably nicer) than our reservation. The space is very welcoming and has an at-home feeling. Overall, great experience.

Great stay! Stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The staff are very kind and helpful, helped to recommend places to you and make sure everything was going well. The place is right inside the Nara Deer Park, perfect if you want to get up in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the deers. My favourite place is above the Inn to see the deers. There are plenty of deer around the park though. There are a few food places above the Inn for lunch or furthermore down in the entrance to the Deer Park. It gets very quiet at night around the Inn there as all the shops are closed. It is a 26 min (strolled walk) to the train station where there is plenty of food places. Although there is light at night it is a bit dim walking through the park (to the city), but I did not find it dangerous and not many deers were seen. The accomodation has like a cabin style rooms and does has creaky wooden floors which can be heard for light sleepers. You might need earplugs. Free to use kitchen to use and ammenties. You can buy a few select food and snacks from the kitchen (e. G. Cup noodles). There is aircon/heater to use and in the shared areas too. I would highly recommend borrowing a bike from here and ride along the riverside towards the temples and shrines on the west side of Nara. You take the bus 77/79 (Platform 1) from the Kitetsu station and it is the last stop. And walk around the corner and up the road. Note: There are stairs to get to the Inn!

The Deer Park Inn is located in the Nara Park. S closed to Tōdai-ji (Todaiji temple), Kōfuku-ji (Xingfu temple) and Kasuga Grand Shrine (Spring Festival Shrine). We feel to the morning Nara Park, which surrounded by deers.
Inn keeper speaks Good English, he also helped us make a phone to the restaurant in Japanese, s a considerate keeper!
Located in Nara Park, Deer Park Hotel is within walking distance of Todaiji temple, Xingfu Temple, Spring Festival shrine.
We particularly like the morning in Nara Park, surrounded by deer and refreshing air to make people feel very energetic.
The boss is fluent in English and is very attentive to help us deal with the problem of Japanese. There are many travelers from all over the world at the Deer Park Hotel, where we meet friends from Norway and Guangzhou, China.

Very friendly staff, free tea/coffee, clean toilets and shower facilities. Heating is provided by an air conditioning unit. Air in the room was unfortunately moldy.

Very good location for the sights in the Deer Park. Powerful showers and very clean through out. Enthusiastic hosts and a comfortable stay. Would recommend.

This is a basic, but clean hostel. It is quite close to shrines and temples and has deer often walking right in front of the building. At night it is very quiet.

Perfectly located within the Nara Deer Park, with very friendly staff and clean amenities. One of the best place in Nara for cost-conscious tourists!

Very good deal, the area the best if you want to be close to the deer (you see it from the window), the hotel very clean and the reception very good.

This place is great if you know what you're getting into and it's what you want. It's a little rustic. It's not the place if you want to stay up late and party. However, if you want to wake up early and see nara park and the surrounding sites before tourists mob them, it is perfect.

Had lunch here. Food is 5 star, which taste real good. Service is 3 star. Personally, didn't feel welcomed here as a not-Japanese Asian.

Really great location. It gives you a great opportunity to explore the park before and after it gets busy. The staff are super helpful and gave great advice on the best time to visit different locations and where best to watch sunset.

Very helpful staff, nice rooms with plenty of space and air conditioning. Location is cool right among the deer in Nara Park and 5 minutes walk from an old temple complex. Bathrooms are public but clean though there are only two so there can be a line in the morning. Showers were good, there seemed to be enough of them.

Fantastic stay at the deer park inn. Beds were very comfortable, with good facilities and a well priced cafe above. The staff were amazing, gave great recommendations, helped us with our bags and called a cab. Really went above and beyond. Thanks again to the fantastic staff at deer park inn, couldn't have enjoyed my stay more.

It's lovely. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful, and keep the place clean. The rooms were quite plain, but the bed was comfortable. It was amazing to stay in the middle of the park, and there's a couple of restaurants nearby. There's deer wandering around. Getting there from the train station with luggage is a hassle, unless you're taking a taxi, which shouldn't be more than ¥1500 from the JR station.

Staff was super friendly, kind, considerate. Room was clean, and modern. Shared bathrooms were also clean and enough facilities were provided so you didn't feel like you had to wait long periods. We walked from the train station through Nara park (you can and probably should take transit) but we found the walk entrancing and magical. Lovely magical stay. Be kind to the deers please!
