One of the best Hostels we visited. Really great facilities and atmosphere. The staff are very kind and helpful as well. Though a bit far from Jr line, we can reach the lines using local bus which stops right outside the hostel. In terms of location for sightseeing, it is centrally located and most of them are close by and you could walk to a few of them as well.

Love the guest house. Clean, neat, and the staff is friendly. Enjoy the time here. And stay sometimes at the lounge.

Clean, nice feel and very affordable. The reception closes too early at 1am. Far from center so spent money on bus fares. Would recommend for the price but I would book somewhere that has later reception.

Friendly atmosphere at the hostel, which provides free miso soup, teas and coffee for free all day. Room is quite chilly at night, unless one sleeps close to the air conditioner. You can choose Japanese style futon or dormitory style bunk beds for the hostel accommodation. Guests even celebrated setsubun by eating ehomaki and takoyaki together with invited locals, which is very interesting twist not found at other hostels. Location a bit out of town unless visiting Kinkakuji, but bus stop right across hostel takes you straight to Kyoto Station and vice versa on number 50. Daiso, Uniqlo and Life Supermarket all within 100m walk.

The staff of the property is very kind and helpful. The hostel is clean and the breakfast is ok. I give them 3 stars because I I'm not agree on the rules of the hostel: breakfast before 9am is too early, check-out at 10am is too early and you have to pay to stay more. The also close the guesthouse between 12 and 17h everyday. There is no sense for that rules, It's the first time I've seen this in my world round-trip.

Good choice if you want to experience staying in Ryokan (Japanese style hostel). There is suupa/convenient stores around the hostel so its quite convenient. Around 20 meters from bus stop.

Great, charming little hostel in a residential district of Kyoto. The employees are very friendly and were able to communicate to me in English, which was appreciated. There was free coffee and tea. Beds are the classic hostel style bunks.

Stay 4 nights and the last day I didn't want to leave. The staff is very friendly. Good experience.

Awesome hostel for budget traveller! The staffs are friendly and helpful, the hostel has traditional japanese feels, they have full of accomodation facility. They have free flow machine for ocha (green tea), water and even miso soup! They also serve a yudofu pot for only 350 yen which I recommend to try if you stay in there! 10/10 would stay there again if I back to kyoto.

Nice and good. Great staff. Comfortable. There are convenience store, uniqlo and daiso nearby. Really nearby just short walking distance.

Breakfast is included but not worth to mention. Hostel is closed after 1am. Lightning is rather bad. It is quite loud. Ventilation could be better. Sorry, No recommendation.

Nice place, room is clean and tidy. Fast response from host. Location near bus stop. And they have monthly party.

Comfortable, service is good, but if you can inform 12 points in advance can not use hair dryer better.

The was a mistake on booking, where we paid the wrong price (cheaper), but the guys gave us a discount and were absolutely professional. Would definitely recommend staying here. The only downside is that it is far from everything, so you have to take the bus or rent a bike all day.

Best first hostel experience.

Super friendly staff. Location-wise, no train station nearby but the place is reachable by bus. Beds are hygienic but crowded.

Price is not expensive for Kyoto, staff is friendly and english speaking, breakfast is included. Very clean, nice tiny zen garden.

Nice hostel, get a bike or transit since the location isn't the best, still would recommend.
