Kouragi

The hotel has its own parking lot; however, some guests note that it is quite narrow. It is also mentioned that the road to the parking area can be difficult due to the local terrain.

The staff and the hostess (Okaasan) are described as very friendly, welcoming, and polite, while maintaining a comfortable distance from the guests. The employees show great attention to detail, and the hostess even helped one guest reach the bus stop. Guests highly appreciate the level of hospitality and the overall atmosphere of coziness created by the team.

The highlight of the cuisine is the crab dishes, which guests describe as a "total immersion" and the "best value for money." A full course is offered: raw crab (sashimi), boiled, fried, as well as crab nabe (hot pot) and zosui (porridge) to finish. The freshness and sweetness of the crabs from Shibayama port are especially praised, as well as the carefully prepared appetizers and breakfasts that do not overpower the flavor of the main dish. During the summer season, fresh squid and nodoguro are served. After dinner, guests can enjoy whisky or coffee in the lobby using Baccarat glassware.

The rooms are designed in a traditional Japanese style (washitsu) with options for beds or futons. The interior is described as clean and cozy, with a good taste in the selection of colors and decor, although some guests feel they are not luxurious enough for this price category. The hotel has a large open-air communal bath on the third floor. The water temperature in the public pool can be quite hot; therefore, those who do not enjoy extreme heat are recommended to use the baths in their rooms. Some guests highly praised the water quality, ranking it among their top onsen visits, while others noted that the bath is rather small and can be crowded during check-in hours due to the limited number of washing areas.

The atmosphere at Kouragi is very calm, quiet, and peaceful, making it ideal for a complete retreat. The interior features many beautiful pieces of art and floral arrangements, creating an aesthetic environment. It is an intimate establishment that attracts those who love silence and exquisite Japanese cuisine.
