Shiga hotels with breakfast

This review is long overdue!
My fiancé and I visited this hotel in December 2025. We booked a room that has a private open-air bath and the view was amazing, except for the parking lot, haha.

The true standout staying here for us for two nights with two kids was the Kaiseki styled breakfasts and dinners, as well as warm and personalised service received.

Stayed here and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in. The owner makes you dinner and it is all locally sourced from the mountains and farms in the area.

We loved our stay at hotel koo. It was the perfect combination between japanese traditional house and modern scandinave touch. We felt so at peace in this room, a perfect moment of relaxation.

In 2 words: simply amazing. We stayed here for 1 night, perfect to get away from the hustle & bustle of the big cities.

Inase Otsu is the greatest hotel I have ever spent time in Japan. The traditional Machiya building is gorgeous and is preserved extremely well.

Had the most wonderful time at Inase. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The building is a piece of history and very beautiful, from the common room to the showers.

When I first checked in the room I didn’t really like downstairs bathroom so big right In the middle of the space. But the bathroom just amazing when you shower you actually could smell the cypress.

Best budget hotel chain in Japan. Staff are wonderful, breakfast is better than the usual buffets offered with interesting options and fruit smoothies.

Excellent service from all the staff. Very spacious and clean rooms. As well. There is a lovely buffet style breakfast included in your price.

The staff at the hotel were extremely kind. Even though our flight was delayed and we arrived around 10 p. M, they still greeted us with warm, smiling faces.

First ryokan onsen experience. Only a few offer solo traveller. Pricey but well worth the experience.

This has been a beautiful, comfortable and comforting experience. We stayed here to explore Kyoto with a comfortable place at a MUCH affordable price than staying in Kyoto itself.

I love this place. Of course it's convenient, but it was perfect for me. Clean, extremely quiet, a gym on site.

15 to 20 minutes walk to JR station. Taxi cost 500 to 600 yen. Only 10 minutes by train to Kyoto and 30 minutes to Omni Hachiman.

I could hear my next door neighbor loud and clear… just beware.
It’s on a slope, self check in machine makes everything easy and fast.
The room is just nice for one person.

It's a resort style hotel sitting right beside the ferry terminal for Nagahama.

Hotel Grazie was fantastic, thanks to very helpful and memorable staff.

The highlights of my stay were the kaiseki dinner and being able to enjoy the peaceful view at the public bath.

We visited this hotel in Dec 2025 and were happy to that the hotel is as impressive as the website photos showed.
The hotel is in a great location in front of the lake and close to the town.

Great hosts. Very traditional Japanese with quirky decorations. The bed was a lot futon with small bathroom and kitchen. Small space with low heights so would not suit someone 6ft plus or over 100kgs.

We had a lovely stay at this very unique inn!
We stayed in the Demon Slayer themed room which we loved, you can tell a lot of work and effort has gone into designing and building such a unique room!

Nice hotel near a station, perfect for checking out Maibara for a day or two. The room was clean and cozy with a little fridge. Good breakfast, vending machines with drinks in the lobby.

Four PowerPoints and one USB port in room. Complimentary robe, razor, toothbrush, comb and skin care set.
Room is clean, neat and tidy. Non smoking option available and it smells very clean.

The ryokan was very comfortable. The bath in our room, and the public bath were both very nice, with a great view. Our room had both futons and beds available. We ordered the vegan kaiseki course.

Had a fantastic one night stay here.

Sorry for the late review… stayed here for one night in late September. There was 5 of us but I was so happy to get my own room! Staff very friendly and helpful.

Perfact hotel for business trip.
Reasonable price, room is clean, offering simple breakfast and near the station.

I am one of the few foreigners that happened to stumble upon this location. I wanted to check out Lake Biwa, so I decided to give this hotel a try. This hotel is decent and it is clean.

Lovely location next to Lake Biwa, staff helpful and friendly, room very nice, super bath!

Staff spoke English, room was nice. Breakfast was very good.

It’s located very close to the train station. My friend and I brought our bikes and started cycling from here. The hotel is bicycle-friendly and even provides parking space for bikes.
