This resort is more kids friendly than most, they have a full schedule throughout the week. There are parrots in the lobby, splash pad, trampoline, seatturle tank etc almost like a small zoo. The indoor and outdoor pool is a huge plus regardless of the weather and fun water slides. The all you can eat buffet is crazy delicious and the sunsets are spectacular.

Okinawan Renaissance, sits on the edge of the Kuroshio Current (black tide) which is four times bigger than the Gulf Stream do to the size of the Pacific vs the Atlantic, which brings warm tropical water up from the Philippines. Harboring back to Okinawa's trading past the Renaissance has a pirate motif, included with tropical Macaws in the entrance and lobby. Children are given activity packs with the pirate theme. Dolphins jump in the lagoon, near the pirate ship as it seems like a page from never-never land. The lush soft fine white sand beach is protected with a jelly/shark net and trained life guards. Indoor outdoor pools with slides, and a spa for the adults. World dinning dishes in an island buffet, entertained by tropical island dancers, with a fire show. Hotel is showing its age, and parking can be difficult with a shuttle bus. Rooms were recently upgraded with key-less entry. The views and the activities to including dinning with fishes are exclusive experiences to the Renaissance. It is worth a stop near Christmas time as the great staff go all out wearing costumes, and a sleigh for Santa. The tree in the lobby goes up several floors. My only question is how soon can I go back?

Recommend to ALL! You should plan a trip and definitely stay at the Renaissance! It's like a mini aquarium and zoo here! Dolphins, sting rays, seal, sea turtles, otters, kangaroos, tortoise, parriots, Tucanos and more! Ate breakfast while overlooking the dolphins! Scenery is divine! Food is over priced but I recommend renting a car there is a sushi place 3 min away! Staff is so friendly and I loved how family oriented it is even tho we didn't bring our kid! If we come back to Okinawa we will definitely stay again!

Fantastic resort! Basically every room has an ocean view of some sort (beautiful view, by the way) with an assortment of delicious restaurants and plenty of attractions, including jet skis, kayak, and seeing some dolphins. A must go!

Expected more from this resort at the price I payed. My room was a bit lackluster from wear and tear over the years. Bathroom was very clean and my room had a great view of the ocean side. Extremely courteous staff and good amenities including a small shop to purchase convenience items. Weekend breakfast buffet is worth getting up early for even if you aren't staying at the hotel.

Wonderful hotel! In house dolphin, stingray, turtles, indoor heated pool, private beach, friendly staff, beautiful Christmas decoration, club savvy members have free access to lounge for beverages, free breakfast and lunch. Many free marine activities too. Free valet parking. Beautiful room with ocean view!

Nice friendly staff and food options. Shocked that complimentary water was only for first night (i never experienced this before)! Car park may take a few minutes walk given the nearest car park is usually full.

Attended a wedding here almost 20 years ago and returned for dinner a few nights ago. Still a top rate hotel that is very clean and well maintained. Lot of extra activities and the buffet is put together well. Beach is nice and lawn is relaxing.

Japanese attention is awesome in general. Very individualized. A 3-day stay comes with free breakfast and lunch at certain hotel restaurants as well as their indoor "onsen" access. Excursions are priced at around 50-10 USD per person (much more affordable than say… Hawaii excursions).

Really nice facility there with indoor swimming pools for kids. Food were good price and play portion as well. The beach is well maintained.

The lunch buffet is excellent. They also had traditional Okinawan dance and Eisa performance.

I ate at the French lunch buffet on the second floor. The view was spectacular, and the service was amazing. There were so many different foods and desserts to choose from too. Everything tasted exquisite. I'll definitely visit again.

Great service beautiful place great food and activities. Superb value if staying 3days or more, entitled to club savvy benefits. Only downside is long wait for sailfish buffet lunch. Arrived at 1230 and was told table would be ready at 1300. Yet had to wait until slightly after 1315. Was ignored when informing staff that I was rushing for an activity at 1330. Had no choice but to finish lunch within 10mins.

Very family/kid friendly. Lots of kids so probably not the best for couples. Had a great time with 1 and 3 year old boys. Because we stayed four nights, we got club savvy access which gave us free lunches and breakfast which was great food. Worth noting the resort is predominantly Japanese with few western foreigners.

Just beauitful place to be.

Large structure with typical organization of a holiday village. There are swimming pools, a small zoo, a nice beach, all ideal for families. Obviously you will find Italian customers, since the area is not frequented by fellow countrymen.

We actually stayed at the Coco Resort but spent more time here at Renaissance. The food was wonderful as was the whole hotel. Very family oriented but we enjoyed watching the children having fun, as did we. Because we had stayed for 5 nights we got several vouchers allowing us free activities and meals. Especially enjoyed the Japanese breakfast on the second floor, the free use of the bath house and the Tepan Sweets were a treat. Try to see a Tuna being prepared in the restaurant. Without a car we felt a bit isolated so went on bus day trip to the aquarium. Also walked up to the lookout near the small museum which is a short walk away. No nearby shops which was a slight negative, but there was a Family Mart within walking distance from the Coco Resort.

I think best in the okinawa hotel.

So many activity for kids! Can touch with dolphin.

Good location, nice beach, sea view from most rooms. Their japanese yakiniku restaurant is very good. They have a daily dolphin show, great for kids. Some minus points though: their staff speaks limited English, and the life guards will insist you wear a life jacket if you swim on the hotel's beach, regardless of your abilities, frustrating :-/

The lunch we had there was decent.
