Green Guesthouse Hostel

Good. Staff in here. Good. Place to live.

This place was a wreck. We had to walk up 4 flights with a 70L backpack. The cushions in the common area are yucky. The cleanliness is very questionable. The slippers were the dirtiest I have ever seen in Japan. The whole building shook. It felt like we’re experiencing mini earthquakes the entire night. The female dorm room which my friend and I stayed in made me feel like I was homeless. There was a lady who had some how moved in… and had all of her belongings stacked up in a corner like a hoarder… she had transformed the ceiling into a laundry dry rack with her bras and 5-toe socks hanging. This place is a NO NO unless you are DESPERATE. The only thing that was good was the organic pine soap in shower room… which let’s not even get started about.

Rooftop is a plus, nd it's situated near the harbour and the ferry for sakurajima! shower a bit dirty but nothing harsh, maybe just the washlet of the toilet that was so cold nd strong :p.

Decent hostel. The price was good and the view from the roof top is really nice.

Close to the ferry and the main amenities! Warm welcome and comfortable rooms.

Nice hostel with a cool rooftop space which offers an amazing view on Sakurajima volcano (when not engulfed by rain clouds). Dorms are spacious and amenities are the standard ones for a Japanese hostel. Friendly staff make the stay very pleasant giving some tips on some amazingly tasty street food stalls to be found in the night market.

Gentle staff, bed ok, very nice location and nice rooftop with view on sakurajima. Male dorm too crowded Wi-Fi don't work or sometimes very slow. Good place for a very short stay 1/2 nights maxi unless find another place.

Good value for the price, very central location.

The good: — Very close to the port, so if you are planning to rake the ferry to Yakushima this hostel is you best bet. — There were a lot of plugs for electronic stuff. — Nice showers with organic soap. The bad: — There wasn't any elevator, if you have a backpack like I did is perfectly fine, but it could be an inconvenient if you have a suitcase.

Friendly english speaking staff. Clear cozy rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and lounge. Reasonable priced bicycles to rent.

They provide cheap accomodation including bunkers beds. Overall, it is a good place for a short stay.

Rooms are packed. Showers are small. Staff is helpful. Very cheap, so no comfort can be asked for.

Best Location if you want to use the ferry terminal. This is as close at it gets. Good value for the price. Nice and helpfull English speaking staff.

Very clean guest house. Staff are prompt to help you. Wifi work ok slow sometimes. There is no lift at this guesthouse. Private room is at the second floor very steep stair. Private room is fine. Fresh clean sheet with ultra thin pillow. Good AC. Male dom on thev4th floorwith 12 bed a little bit crowd but quiet. Kitchen on 3rd floor is full equeiped. Only 1 table and a long counter to sit. The deck with nice view over looking at Sakurajima volcano and city. Not very central but walk only 10 mins to Tenmonkan center. Good to stay here.

Easily to be reached from train station or even tram station. Bus station nearby. The rooms are not as small as in similar hostels. However, due to the nature of the city and Volcano nearby, the volcano ash is even in the rooms and the walls are therefore bit grey. Showers are clean, toilets as well. Refridgerator in the main hall.

Great spot right near the port. Staff were helpful and nice. Beds were comfortable. Few toilets and showers, unfortunately. The building sways with traffic from the neighbouring street and the vending machines in the hall make it very warm when you're not in the dorm. The dryers are also very weak for drying clothes.

Best guest house in japan! I didnt want to leave! Yoshi the owner is super friendly and can help you a lot. The place to be in kagoshima.

I like this hostel, front desk is helpful and it's right in front of the port so it's close to the Sakurajima ferry. Pretty well kept and it looks like the are renovating it now too making it better I suppose.

Clean, friendly and really well priced. Great place to stay if you are traveling threw Kagoshima.
