The room and bathrooms are new and clean. The location is good. Moreover, the staffs are nice and friendly.
Sorry to say guys — but — this place is not cheap when taking into account what you get — a 4 m2 room with bunkbeds — a noisy fan and a blinded window — and the poorest breakfast ever seen — WTF! I had a very nice twin hotelroom IN Tokyo for less money. Wish I had booked somewhere else. Staying here for four nights seems such a waste when first time in Kyoto.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful! I had to leave other accommodations, R. Star staff made me feel at home, gave directions, and suggestions. I stayed there for 2 weeks and would go back again. It was easy to walk around the city or take a train around, safe area. There is so much to do in Kyoto, it’s probably my favourite city of all time! R. Star staff were amazing and helped make my stay extremely memorable. Breakfast was simple but included, I also liked the full kitchen to save a bit of money making my own lunches so I could go all out on other experiences. Bathrooms were spotless, toilets literally spoke to me, beds comfortable, lockers were a great size. Rooms were quiet (I stayed in the mixed dorm 10+ beds and it was quiet and comfortable — even when fully booked). Lots of people kept to themselves, but I still made a couple of friends and did some day trips together.
