The guest house is only to recommend. Very good room, kitchen and other conditions for good price, that you won't find in the hotels. Very friendly staff.
If a higher rating could be given, it would be given. The space was gorgeous, clean, and spacious. Free breakfast was also a plus. The hotel itself is located very close to a bus stop, providing easy transportation. The hotel owner goes above and beyond to accommodate her guests. When we asked her for some recommendations, she drew us a map with the names of all the sites to see and visit in Kyoto. When a member of our party got sick, she helped us prepare food and never hesitated when we needed any sort of assistance. The establishment does not have elevators, so if you have a lot of luggage, I would recommend asking for a second floor room. But that is a very minor discomfort compared to all the care and hospitality you receive at Guesthouse Geottingen. She was so nice and sociable, and she has an adorable son as well. I could not recommend her, and this hotel, enough. // To the owner of the hotel: Thank you for a lovely stay! We had a great time talking to you and exploring Kyoto. Comfortable, convenient and super helpful staff who helped me check-in late after my flight was severely delayed. Quiet building, nice location with plenty of places to eat nearby, and some great sites. Good if you like to walk and see the city too! Comfy bed, Aircon in the room, and the rooms are kept really clean. The breakfast included fresh fruits when I was there which is fantastic as fruit is so expensive in Japan! Don't hesitate to recommend this place, and will come back here again next time I'm in Kyoto.
