Beautiful hostel in a great location. The bar downstairs has such a great atmosphere that it's even frequented by the locals, and occasionally hosts live music events. Its a great place to meet people, both locals and other foreigners before venturing out into the main party district and easy five minute walk along the river towards Kawaramachi station. Rooms were comfy and immaculate, and both the bar and reception staff made an effort to know and welcome you.

Best hostel we went to in Japan, really good beds and amenities. Big showers and friendly staff. Nice bar downstairs and area for socialising.

This is without a doubt the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The design is beautiful and trendy. It has a very communal vibe to it, as the staff are super friendly and the common area is designed to promote chat amongst guests. The price was super reasonable as well. Close enough to everything (temples, shopping and train stations) but you don’t feel like you’re in the thick of it, it’s quiet peaceful. Plus the cafe downstairs (which is also beautifully designed) offers excellent coffee and pastries too. If you’re in Kyoto, stay there! Oh, and make sure you meet Loco, I think she’s the manager of the hostel, she’s super friendly and full of tips of things to do!

Best hostel I've experienced. Industrial feel with modern amenities. Clean and complete with everything you'll need. They have a serviced bar, offering a moderate selection of light snacks/meals and drinks. They also have a cute common area where you can relax and cook your own meals if desired. Really friendly staff as well.

Staying at Len is a total treat. The team there are so friendly, and you'll feel like one of the gang. The bar is the perfect local hangout, and the meals are perfectly priced, and delicious. It's a great base to explore a wonderful city from. Highly recommended!

Very friendly staff and great atmosphere of locals and travellers coming through. Cafe in the morning / afternoon and bar at night. Good ambient light from big windows and nice decors. Would reccomend for either a short break or study time on your laptop.

To live hostel experience, the price is reasonable, the staff is very friendly, room space is OK, bed is comfortable, indoor heating, bathroom is clean, the second floor has a kitchen, the first floor of the morning has breakfast, coffee; this is very convenient; push one of their ode, the soft, delicious, coffee, and turn into a small bar at night. The disadvantage is that the location is too remote, the nearest attraction should be only Yasaka shrine, Kiyomizu temple, Shiretoko House, opposite a convenience store; left walk five minutes a family 711, in addition to no, to find something to eat are going to walk 10 minutes, to Osaka for almost 1 hours, it is recommended if the trip in Kyoto is more recommended, the overall is great!

Great place for some 500 yen cocktails. Great chill atmosphere — gorgeous ambience. Very hip. Very friendly service!

Came here to finish some work — so spacious and modern looking! It puts you in a good mood just by the decor. I found a few outlets as well, which was a plus. Got the basil and tomato sandwich for lunch and it was delicious, I wish I was staying here!

Super Hostel! Very clean! Again at any time.

One of the best hostels I stayed in. The staff are warm and very helpful, and I like that they have a shared bathroom for the disabled. I had a solo room with a queen bed and it's more spacious than most business hotels in Japan. They have a full service common room where you can cook your food and do your laundry, and the bar downstairs is full of hip people. Will come back here again when I return to Kyoto.

Did not stay here but went to their bar twice while in Kyoto. The sake list was wonderful and very affordable. Well designed space.

I was only there for a coffee, but it's a cute lil trenfy place, with some latte art and funky decor. Nice place to chill.

I visited the cafe/restaurant at Len. I came during lunch hours and was told food was not being served anymore. Then when I tried to order some of the pastries on display I was told certain ones were reserved for other customers. The whole experience was odd. As I was finishing my coffee and pastry, a few others groups of people entered and were served lunch. I wanted to like Len based on all the good reviews, but I don’t understand why the service was so cold.

Really nice hostel with amazing facilities, bar/restaurant and plenty of clean showers and bathrooms. The staff was always helpful and very kind. Beds are big, comfortable and there are security lockets on each room. Amazing hostel for a man affordable price.

Very laid back and nice atmosphere. The food is extremely (surprisingly actually) cheap. And it's delicious! Recommended for college students or people on budgets.

This place makes us feel we are travelling abroad even I'm Japanese and it's in Japan though. The atmosphere reminds me of the guesthouse in overseas like sydney. It's really comfortable and cozy place to stay.

The beds were very comfortable, I loved the bar/cafe downstairs! Great atmosphere to chill and hang or plan your trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Utilities and amenities were great, it was very clean and had everything that you needed.

Stayed four nights in this boutique hostel at downtown Kyoto. Love the relaxed ambience and lighting in the day and when the night comes, the place is transformed into a dinner + bar. Awesome food served here as well ✨ Hostel is just nice with ample space but remember to bring a padlock for your valuables. Clean and spacious, but it's a unisex toilet, so prepare yourself. If you want to meet locals, this definitely is not the place for you but if you love to talk to people from different countries then yes, book your stay here!

Seems like a nice hostel. Not sure of how much they charge or how many people would share one bathroom. Only had coffee here. Very hipster.

We went to the cafe for breakfast and while there were limited food options the granola and yogurt and the special ham & cheese (we dropped ham) pressed sandwich with greens were both good.

Overall residential environment high quality whether it is space and equipment rain Day will also provide special umbrella to let residents out of peace of mind, especially on the first floor of the compound Café + Western-style bar almost every night full! Staff warm and courteous, English conversation level barrier-free on the second floor of the Friendship Hall cooking equipment complete with computer Wi-Fi can be used free of charge to provide laundry facilities with large bath tub to allow passengers to temporarily eliminate the fatigue and recovery, the low cost of breakfast can be very delicious, in close to five River original! This is a visit to Kyoto will go to the quality of good hostels, thank you very much for your deposit.

I have stayed in len hostel twice already，one time is in mixed dorm. This time is in twin room. The host in front desk is very nice and friendly. It is the hostel I will recommend and choose again.

Excellent hostel and cafe located in central Kyoto. I was so surprised to find this very hip coffee shop when I was wandering the streets of Kyoto. As a local New Yorker, I felt that I had stepped into a shop in Brooklyn for a cup of coffee. It's beautifully decorated and their coffee and pastries are excellent. I so badly wanted to book a bed in the hostel for my remaining days in Kyoto, but they were booked out. Regardless, the staff at Len were very helpful providing recommendations for me in the areas as well as a map to keep highlighting the route I should take. I would certainly recommend Len for travelers to the area and I wish to return on my next trip to Japan.
