Kaede Guesthouse Hostel

I've been to several hostels throughout Europe, and this is my first one in Japan, and it's the best hostel I've been so far. The staff is very nice and welcome, they'll help you with anything you need, even with directions and help around the place. The free breakfast has many different kinds of delicious japanese bread, free coffee, tea and ice water any time you want. The bathrooms are immaculate and so are the showers. The whole place is tidy and clean, and the shared bedroom has AC, and the beds are very cozy and comfortable. The location is perfect, right in the city center, which is a bonus if you rent a bycicle from them. Will definitely come back on my next trip to Kyoto, and I will recommend everyone I know to book with them. Can't say enough good things about the place, just come and check for yourself!

I can say only good things about Kaede Guesthouse. Great value for money, so clean, such nice and helpful crew espessiali Nia from Bulgaria. I always stay here on individual trips and with groups.

Good service. Good room. Especially for budget traveller. The room spacious enough. Location near city. Gion area etc.

The bunk bed can be a bit too warm but other that everything was great. This is very well organized, clean and comfortable guesthouse.

Living very comfortable, near the living function is also very convenient, not afraid of food in the middle of the night, from the subway is also near. In the morning, you can see the temple in front of the clock, very comfortable ~

Stay in May 2016, stay in a double suite. The room size is moderate, the window can see beautiful temples, next door there is a large-scale convenience store, although distance from the station, but traffic is quite convenient. Hidden in the alley is not affected by the noisy traffic crowds, the morning master will be prepared for a simple buffet breakfast, although to wash their own dishes, but feel relaxed and comfortable.

Very pleasant stay at KAEDE Guesthouse! The location is incredibly convenient, at a walking distance to Gion, Kyomizudera and the main shopping streets.

Very clean and for a good price. In the city center in addition, we were really not disappointed.

Free breakfast is delicious and the location is good. Staff were very friendly and the rooftop terrace is a great chill out spot.

Lovely and friendly staff. I Love the place. It is clean and peaceful. So near to the train station and commercial district. There is a convenience store a few meters away from the building.

English speaking staff. Very close to nishiki market and shopping centre of Kyoto. About 30 minutes to Kyoto station on foot, 2 stations by metro. Spacious double room. Free Wi-Fi. Lawson is like 20 meters from the guesthouse. Overall good place to stay and good location.

Best place I stayed in Japan. They even have a game to find ninjas in the main lobby. Also, desk attendants speak excellent English.

It is one of the best hostels I have ever bin to! You get free breakfast, awsome kitchen, fre coffee and tea, a nice few from the roof top, well informed personal, clean facilities, washing mashine and a option to dry your stuf in the sun as well as a good location.

Good hotel with a rooftop terrace. The double room with private bathroom was quite correct. The location is very good. Watch out for strict check in and check out conditions.

A fantastic hostel with excellent facilities and helpful staff. They provide maps, advice for sightseeing and can help with booking accommodation or transport. The location is walking distance to a subway station and Gion (an old style district with lots of cool streets, shops and temples). The lobby area is really spacious and a great place to meet new people. They have free tea and coffee all day and generous baskets of assorted bread at breakfast. The dorms are comfortable, like little pods with a curtain and lockers for your things. All the common areas and bathrooms are spotless and they have laundry and bicycle facilities too.

The guesthouse is kept very clean, especially the washroom. You can have free breakfast (mostly breads) here. The 24-hour common room is decorated very well. Overall, it gave me a feeling of warm. Recommended.

We loved staying at Kaede Guesthouse. Our room was perfect, our stay was exceptional, the staff could not have been more accommodating. We came to visit family as well as vacation in our favorite city. Not sure how it's possible but we left loving Kyoto even more. Meg and Javi, everyone was amazing but you two were exceptional. A very heart warming Domo Arigato to both of you. We will be back in 2018 and look forward to our future stay at Kaede Guesthouse… … Sincerely,

Excellent hostel: so many merits but, to name a few, it's incredibly clean and modern, the staff are friendly (multiple languages available, too) and it's also conveniently located.

Very affordable and well-maintained hostel-style guesthouse. We did not see the dormitory rooms, but we enjoyed our stay in the private rooms on the top floor. There is a nice seating area on the roof with a nice view of the surrounding city and nearby temple. Common room in the lobby with tea and coffee made us feel at home from the moment we came inside. Walking distance from many great restaurants and tourist areas, and not far from the nearest train station. There is also a pizza place and small restaurant on the bottom floor if you're not feeling adventurous on a given day. The staff were incredibly friendly and spoke English well.

Kaede Guesthouse is one of the best places I have stayed in whole Japan. Great staff able to organise everything with smile on their faces. Perfect location — close to Kyoto Train Station, neighbourhood to the amazing Bukkoji Temple, just in the middle of true Kyoto. Fresh and clean. Very nice and friendly atmosphere in cosy lobby.
I can highly recommend this place to everybody! :)
