Very nice guesthouse, it really feels like a home. Great location near the temples and gardens, about 25 mins by bus to Kyoto station. Owners are so friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is good, toast with tea/coffee and a banana. It's a small hostel which makes it easy to meet other travellers. Good facilities including a large fridge to store food, there is also a washing machine and dryer. You cannot stay in the hostel between 10-4 which should be made clearer when booking. It was incredibly hot in Kyoto in the middle of summer and it was hard knowing I couldn't go back to my room to relax. I stayed in the girls' dorm which was quite small and had no window, it felt a bit claustrophobic. The Wi-Fi didn't work well in the room. Walls were very thin.
Nice atmosphere, great hosts! Good location to start your discovery of Kyoto. Make sure tot rent the bikes for a day and see the city from a different perspective!
