Good sized room with friendly staff. How friendly? After checking in I went to Abashiri prison and got caught out by a heavy rainstorm so returned absolutely soaked (stupidly left my waterproofs behind). The old lady greeting guests was properly concerned and insistent on drying my kit off for me, took ages to convince her I'd be fine. Breakfast was a good mix too. Bike ended up parked in their garage/storage area so out of sight and solid ground which was good.

Nice ryokan, great view, facing the big lake. One of the better and more modern ryokan, staffs are helpful and courteous. Food are good.

Elegant scenery, quiet environment, room Chen old, bath hot spring water to seriously refuel. Give it 80 points.

The building is very old. The service is pretty good though.

Not only was food traditionally good but ryokan was hundred percent localize. Onsen with sauna was also very nice and relaxing. What else to look for. Oops weather was also fantastic.

Great location. The lake is wonderful and the rooms comfy. It was a little dated but it had that 70's charm. The dinner was huge and staff were really nice.

Better Wi-Fi than in Tokyo! It's dated (70's spec) but still has charm and the area is amazing. Staff very helpful.

Traditional Japanese ryokan style hotel. Clean but quite dated. I didn't have dinner, only breakfast. Breakfast buffet is good and has many selections. My room was very roomy and had a great view of Abashiri Lake. There was a small concert at the lobby at night. If you don't have a rental car, I don't recommend here. It is away from all attractions. Not convenient with public transportation. If you have a car, I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful setting, hotel is right on a lake. Hot spring spa is open all night — even though we only stayed one night we were able to get in 2 visits once after dinner and once before breakfast. It's a great escape to recharge.

A nice hotel by the lake. My Room has a wonderful view of the Lake.

A great place, I want to visit again.
